在“比较级+than”的句型中,当than的前后所使用的动词相同时,通常用助动词代替后面的动词。
该动词或助动词可以省略。
e.g.Tina is more athletic than Sam. He works much harder than I(do)/He works much harder than me.2)形容词的比较级的构成:(1)单音节词在词尾加-er构成比较级。
long-longer(2) 以不发音的e结尾的词只在词尾加-r构成比较级。
nice-nicer(3) 重读闭音节以一个辅音字母结尾的,双写后一个字母在加-er构成比较级。
big-bigger, hot-hotter,thin-thinner, fat-fatter(4) 以辅音字母加y结尾的词,变y为i,再加-er. heavy-heavier(5) 不规则变化。
good-better, bad/badly-worse, many/much-more, little-less,far-farther/further注:在形容词和副词的比较级前,有时可以加much,a little,a lot,a bit,even等来修饰。
