More than a decade after AIDS was first identified as a disease, "Philadelphia"(the first high-profile Hollywood film to take the AIDS plague seriously,)marks the first time Hollywood has risked a big-budget film on the subject. No points for timeliness here; made-for-TV docudramas(文献电视片)and the independent film "Longtime Companion" have already explored the subject, and "Philadelphia" breaks no new dramatic ground. Instead, it relies on the safe formula of the courtroom drama to add suspense and resolution to a story that, by its nature, should have little suspense and only one possible outcome.

我最喜欢的电影英语作文泰坦尼克号My Favorite Movie: TitanicTitanic is the best movie ever! It's a super exciting adventure film that will make you laugh, cry, and sit on the edge of your seat the whole time. I've probably watched it a hundred times and I never get bored.The movie starts in the present day when a crew is exploring the wreckage of the real Titanic ship at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. They discover a safe with a really cool antique drawing of a naked woman inside. An old lady named Rose gets wind of this and goes to see the drawing because it's actually her! When she was a young woman of 17 in 1912, she went on the hugely famous maiden voyage of the Titanic. The rest of the movie flashes back to tell her incredible story on that ship.Rose was a rich girl from Philadelphia who had to travel on the ship with her snooty mom and wealthy fiance Cal, who she didn't really love. Rose felt like she was trapped in a gilded cage with no freedom or choices of her own. She was so unhappy that she almost killed herself by trying to jump off the back of the ship! But then she's miraculously saved by a heroic, handsome guy named Jack Dawson.Jack is totally different from all the rich snobs on the ship. He's a poor artist from Wisconsin who won his Titanic tickets in a lucky hand of poker. From the first moment they meet, Rose and Jack have an incredible connection and undeniable chemistry. There are such sparks between them! Despite coming from totally different worlds, they quickly fall in head-over-heels love.Jack shows Rose how to really embrace life and live every moment to the fullest. He takes her out of her sheltered world and they have the ultimate adventures together on the ship. They dance and celebrate with the fun-loving people in steerage, go walking and hanging out on the ship's deck under the stars, and even get frisky in the backseat of a car in the cargo hold! Their whirlwind love affair is the central love story that the whole movie revolves around.Of course, Jack and Rose's happiness is threatened by Rose's jealous fiance Cal, who is furious that Rose has fallen for a "gutter rat" like Jack. There are some really intense, dramatic scenes where Cal's bodyguard chases Jack to try and kill him. The action and suspense had me on the edge of my seat! Would Rose choose to stay with her boring life of money and privilege or get away with Jack for a life of freedom and true love?The climax of course is when the ship tragically strikes an iceberg and begins sinking on its maiden voyage across the Atlantic. It's horrifying to watch but totally gripping. There's panic as everyone rushes for the too-few lifeboats while the "women and children first" policy leaves many men, including Jack, stuck on board the doomed ship. Rose has to make the heart-wrenching choice between saving herself or staying on the sinking Titanic with Jack.The sinking scenes are easily the most incredible part of the film. With groundbreaking special effects, you feel like you're really there as the massive ship cracks in half, water rushes in from all sides, and people are tragically killed or washed away by the overpowering current. It's all so intense and emotional, especially when Jack helps Rose onto a piece of driftwood but then sacrifices himself by staying in the freezing cold water. Their tearful goodbye as Jack slowly freezes while the ship goes down is absolutely heartbreaking. I always sob during that scene!All in all, Titanic is an amazing movie that really has it all - action, adventure, romance, drama, well-developed characters you really care about, and edge-of-your-seat thrills and suspense. It's nearly flawless in my book. Even though the ship sank over a hundred years ago, this film brings that tragichistorical event so vividly to life with amazing attention to historical detail. It transports you right back to 1912 and you really feel like you've gone through that monumental voyage and disaster.The special effects and cinematography are spectacular, especially during the incredibly realistic sinking scenes. I've watched behind-the-scenes footage of how they actually rocked the ship set with massive hydraulics and filled it with millions of gallons of water to get those harrowing shots. It's crazy the lengths the filmmakers went to for authenticity!The acting is also phenomenal and really makes you connect with Rose and Jack's grand love story. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were perfectly cast and have off-the-charts chemistry together. I cry every time during that heartbreaker of an ending when the elderly Rose finally reunites with Jack in the afterlife by dropping the priceless "Heart of the Ocean" diamond into the sea at the wreck site. Their love transcended life and death, which is just too romantic for words!Titanic has definitely earned its reputation as one of the greatest films ever made. It's an exquisitely crafted masterpiece that thoroughly transports you to another time and place while completely capturing your heart. It's nearly perfect and willdefinitely be a film that's remembered forever. I can't recommend this iconic movie enough - it will absolutely become your new favorite too after watching it! Just keep an entire box of tissues nearby because you're going to need them by the end.。

However, his bosses in the law firm fire him under the pretence of his bad attitude to work, because Andrew is a gay and AIDS patient. Finally, they win the court battle while Andrew is died unfortunately.After watching this movie, I was deep in the thought. Something about the movie Philadelphia
This is a normal movie, even a little bit boring. It is too long for this movie to last over 2 hours. And the developing of story is a little slow. What’s more, too many talkingand debating in the court which cannot interest many of viewers is a really hard endurance. And the worse is that the topic is unacceptable to majority of people, especially in China. But it is really a thoughtful movie which revealed the conflict between prejudice and justice, and showed some understanding about homosexuality, love and life.
Andrew and Joe are two young lawyers in Philadelphia. Andrew is a very outstanding lawyerbut also a gay who unfortunately infected with AIDS and didn't tell his boss any of these. He would be upgraded in the near future but actually been fired by the reason of losing important documents which he thought it is just an excuse to conceal the real reason that his boss found the secret. Andrew hoped that Joe will accept the case because no other lawyer accepted it, and he failed. But some things changed Joe’s discrimination thinking toward AIDS and homosexual and eventually took that case. After a long hearing about the case, the jury was finally handed down by the plaintiff, Andrew has finally prevailed, but he was also slowly dying.
What should we treat homosexual with? What changes Joe’s attitude and dissolved his prejudice? The answer is sympathy and love. All men are created equal. You cannot judge a man by his skin color, religion, race, and likewise, sex orientation. We may dislike gays or lesbians. But as one of living things, homosexuals should be respected, and be sympathized when they are discriminated.This law should also works in other situations. That’s what influenced Joe’s mind in library when he saw Andrew’s embarrassing because of the librarian. And homosexuals are not evil orpsychopathic. They love their lives and have deep emotion for beautiful things and the world. When the aria moved Andrew, it also moved me. All men can feel love fulfilled inthis world, no matter he is a homosexual or heterosexual person.。
