bedroom whatever necessary. In my opinion, students can benefit a lot doing some housework. Firstly, doing housework was helpful for us to be a responsible person. Also, it gives our parents more time to do what they are like and it improves the family relationship. What’s most, doing housework can be a form of mentally relaxation from study. That’s our view on housework. And hopes this can inspire more thinking on the topic!

六、阅读理解
文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。

介绍的是英格兰铁路公司计划取消车站售票处,但是降低成本的同时,也会影响很多不经常上网的人们,作者认为对此应该要慎重处理。

13. On the eve of this week’s rail strikes, it was reported that the industry bosses are planning to weed out paper train tickets and close almost
1,000 station ticket offices in England. The transport secretary, Grant Shapps, has made no secret of his desire to see costs saved in this way. Some stations sell only a handful of tickets each week and the vast majority of transactions(交易) have moved online.
In the name of cost-cutting, station ticket offices are likely to follow the telephone booth on the comer and become memory. For those who have grown used to the benefits of organizing travel via smartphones, there will be little to feel sorry for. But for people without online access or skills―who tend to be older, poorer, and more fragile-another social barrier will have been built.
From medical appointments to payment apps for parking, more and more key services are now delivered digitally. As this revolution takes place, the interests of a significant minority are being ignored to some extent. In the case of health and social care, for example, it will often be those most in need of assistance who are least able to employ electronic devices.
The debate over ticket offices offers an opportunity to reflect more broadly on the increasing role of technology in our social landscape. The unavoidable trend towards technology is predictable, but its possible consequences need to be managed with more care. With the expanding range and increasing complexity of digital requirements, the aged are gradually withdrawing from increasing social services in their lives. Ros Altmann, the former pensions minister, recently wrote of being contacted by an elderly woman who no longer drives to her local park, because she cannot download the car parking app required.
Much more needs to be invested in helping gain easy online access. Alternative offline options must be maintained for important services.
Contactable telephone numbers of relevant staff should always be available. These will cost more. But that is the price of digital transformation.
1. Why are the station ticket offices in England planned for closure?
A.To cut down some expenses.B.To minimize the use of public transportation.
C.To increase related job opportunities.D.To make changes to the paper train tickets.
2. Why does the author mention “the telephone booth” in Paragraph 2?
A.To indicate ticket office s will become a thing of the past.
B.To miss the old memories when telephone booths were in use.
C.To show tick el offices are more fashionable than telephone booths.
D.To describe the negative impact of telephone booths on ticket offices.
3. Which of the following suggestions is NOT mentioned about digital transformation?
A.Necessary phone services.B.More diverse online services.
C.More convenient online access.D.Alternative of l line transactions.
4. What is the passage mainly about?
A.The importance and classification of digital services.
B.The views and attitudes of the elderly towards technology.
C.The advantages and shortcomings of station ticket offices.
D.The division and inconvenience caused by digital transformation.

文章主要介绍了哑剧这种艺术形式的特点以及与观众的关系。

14. Mime (哑剧) opens up a new world to the beholder, but it does so insidiously (隐匿地), not by purposely injecting points of interest in the manner of a tour guide. Audiences are not unlike visitors to a foreign land who discover that the modes, manners, and thoughts of its inhabitants are not meaningless oddities, but are sensible in context.
I remember once when an audience seemed puzzled at what I was doing. At first, I tried to gain a more immediate response by using slight exaggerations. I soon realized that these actions had nothing to do with the audience’s understanding of the character. What I had believed to be a failure of the audience to respond in the manner I expected was, in fact, only their concentration on what I was doing; they were enjoying a gradual awakening — a slow transition of their understanding from their own time and place to one that appeared so unexpectedly before their eyes. This was evidenced by their growing response to succeeding numbers.
Mime is an elusive art, as its expression is entirely dependent on the ability of the performer to imagine a character and to re-create that character for each performance. As a mime, I am a physical medium, the instrument upon which the figures of my imagination play their dance of life. The individuals in my audience also have responsibilities—they must be alert collaborators. They cannot sit back, mindlessly self-content, and wait to have their emotions aroused by fantastic musical sounds or visual rhythms or acrobatic feats, or by words that tell them what to think. Mime is an art that, paradoxically, appeals both to those who respond instinctively to entertainment and to those whose appreciation is more analytical and complex.
Between these extremes lie those audiences conditioned to resist any collaboration with what is played before them, and these the mime must charm despite themselves. There is only one way to attack those reluctant minds—take them unaware! They will be delighted at an unexpected pleasure.
1. The author compares mime artist with tour guide because both ________.
A.bring others to strange places B.explore new means of self-expression
C.employ artistic methods to communicate D.shape the way others perceive a new situation
2. The author most likely includes the incident described in paragraph 2 in order to ________.
A.show how challenging the career of a mime can be
B.eliminate some misconceptions about what a mime is like
C.portray the intensity required to see the audience’s point of view
D.indicate the adjustments an audience must make in watching mime
3. The underlined word “elusive” in paragraph 3 most probably means ________.
A.easy to summarize B.difficult to define
C.hard to comment D.natural to imitate
4. According to the passage, which of the following is important to the artistic success of mime?
A.Effective combination of various dramatic elements.B.Incorporation of realistic details.
C.Audience involvement.D.Large audiences.

16. When I was about 4 years old, I decided to go to Disney World. For most young kids, it’s a normal request, but I had cerebral palsy (脑瘫). Walking into anywhere, let alone a crowded place like Disney World was, to put it lightly, a tall order. Luckily, I had people in my corner to help me. Over the next three years, I worked with physical doctors, acquired a walker, and practiced walking, standing, and balance — all skills that I would need to turn my goal into a reality.
I remember the feeling when my legs would protest doing any more work. Despite this, everyone else told me I could do it, so I kept it up. It was all because of people like my parents, brothers, teachers, and doctors that I was able to grow so much, both physically and mentally. Constantly pushing me to “walk on,” yet encouraging me whenever I needed it.
On June 9, 2008, as I stood in the tunnel leading into Main Street, my dad asked me if I wanted any help. I instantly replied, “No!” and situated myself facing the end of the tunnel, feet planted firmly, heart most likely beating out of my chest. Then I went, walking ever so slowly at first, then gradually speeding up. Step, step, step, step, bump. Holding fast onto the handlebars, I gathered up all my strength, picked up my walker and straightened out, picking up my pace once again. It wasn’t too long before the cheering increased because I had made it to the end, where my mom was waiting with tears in her eyes and arms open wide ready to hug her son and tell him how proud she was.
Looking back on that experience, I realize something pretty thoughtful. Every once in a while, life will throw a few bumps in the road. Though it may set you back for a bit, don’t let it stop you. Pick yourself back up and finish. It’s worth it. Besides, there just might be someone there cheering you on along the way.
1. Which of the following best explains “a tall order” underlined in paragraph 1?
A.An easy decision.B.An available action.
C.A reasonable order.D.A challenging task.

B.describe he took pride in his mother and friends
C.show how he managed to walk by himself
D.prove how he understood to respect others
4. What can be the best title of the text?
