in China, rather than on fostering a comprehensive and
well-rounded education. While there are certain advantages to this approach, its disadvantages are also numerous and cannot be ignored.
One of the most significant advantages of exam-oriented education is its focus on achievement and competitiveness. In a society that values success and achievement, this type of education prepares students to excel in high-pressure environments and to compete effectively with their peers. The rigorous training and preparation that students undergo help them develop strong problem-solving skills, time management abilities, and a deep understanding of the subject matter. These skills are invaluable in the
workplace and in life, and can help individuals achieve success in various fields.
However, the disadvantages of exam-oriented education are equally as significant. Firstly, this approach often leads to a narrow focus on academic subjects, with less emphasis on extracurricular activities, creative thinking, or social skills.
