Sandy Van Dusen lies the idea that clothes are finding new homes instead of being thrown away. “Because it helps to eep the Earth green. There’s no point in my opinion in continuing to buy new clothes when we can reuse what’s already here. Give it a new home--- let somebody else love what you used to love and no longer love.”
im Pratt organied the clothing-swapping event in Springfield. She also organied a money-raising activity for the high school’s debate team. It is one of several ways that her group gives to charitable causes. Another is by donating all of the “un-swapped” clothing to shelters for victims of domestic violence.

She used the social media website meetup to help publicie the events. The website has helped her group grow from 30 members to 1,300. Mrs.Pratt says most of the members respect the clothing swap rules. But she says competition for desirable fashion can be strong.

Recently, online high schools in America have caused a debate about whether or not tapayers’ money should be used to support online education. Online schools receive the same amount of funding as all other public schools, even though they don’t have to pay for rent or school equipment. States should use their educational funds to improve education at real schools, not to support online programs.
Some students only use online classes to supplement(补充)their school wor. They benefit from the social eperience of a traditional high school, while still taing online courses.
However, about 90 thousand students in America receive their education only from online schools. 50 thousand of these students tae courses at Florida Virtual School, the largest online school in the country. While this method of schooling helps students who live in remote regions, most school systems are upset that they are losing more students each year to these online programs.
Although online learning allows children to wor at their own pace, these online schools have only one teacher per several hundred students. Often, teachers can’t give struggling students the help they need as they are unable to tal face-to-face with them, to find eactly what they’re having difficulty with.
Additionally, even though online schooling accommodates(顾及)students who live in more remote states, students in online programs may suffer in social situations because they will not learn
valuable communication sills from their schooling. Similar to students who are home schooled, those who tae only online classes won’t learn social etiquette(礼节), and will be treated differently by their peers.
Online schooling might be useful for places where there are not enough students for a real school, such as agricultural regions, but states should only spend tapayers’ money on online schools in etreme cases.

A. Tapayers should not pay for online schools at all.
B. Tapayers should pay more for online schools than real schools.
C. Tapayers’ money should be spent on online schools conditionally.

I am Li Hua, a student of Grade One. Over the last few wees I have become increasing concerned about the air conditioners in our school which are set at a very low temperature. I am writing to offer some suggestions on the use of air conditioners.
We students turn on the air conditioners with the hope to have a comfortable environment to study in. However, it is a pity that some students set such a low temperature, leading to a waste of electricity. In addition, too low temperature may cause students’ health problems and thus affect our
study.
Concerning the problems mentioned above, I suggest the air conditioners should be set at 26 degrees, which is beneficial for both students and our surroundings. I would really appreciate it if my suggestion could be considered.

10 albums by US, German and English artists. It’s good to have variety, but I love French music. M Do French teens lie fast food, you now, hamburgers, chips, and things lie those?
W Well, we don’t really lie that. We usually have quic breafast, sandwiches at lunch and a family dinner at around 8 to 830 in the evening. The younger teenagers lie to eat hamburgers at McDonald’s.
M Paris is well nown for popular clothes, so I’m sure it offers French teens the most up-to-date clothes to choose from.
W Eactly. I lie to wear clothes by Agnes B, a popular French designer. I thin Agnes B clothes are ind of classic, but they can also be very lovely. One of my favorites is a silver jacet because it came
from one of the shows and most importantly there is no other lie it.

W Welcome everybody to this Cititours bus. I hope you’re having a good time here in the West of England. Our tours usually last about one hour.
The bus is now turning into Queens Road. From this road we can see a very modern building.
This is the town’s new sports stadium. All the big matches happen there but at the moment, an international company is using it for a conference.
Now loo to your left. We’re now passing the City Theatre. This building is one hundred years old.
It’s very pretty, as you see, but it doesn’t have enough seats for big shows. We’ve got a new entertainment centre in Victoria Par. We don’t pass it on the bus, but you may be interested to now it’s got a cinema and a concert hall. Most people prefer it because it’s got air-conditioning.
Now, on your right, is the High Street. This Cititours bus normally goes along the High Street into the Maret Place. But at the moment some musicians are practicing for an outdoor concert there. We’re driving round a different route because the roads into the Maret Place are closed.
The maret was an important local trade centre until about 1970. Farmers bought and sold their cows and sheep there. However, we don’t see animals in the city centre these days. The maret area’s got some good shops. Why don’t you have a wal round there later on?。
