By the end of this class, the students will be able to:
1.find out the main idea of each paragraph and conclude the structure of the text;
2.analyse the reasons of teenagers’ negative thoughts on their physical appearance and find out some solutions;

Teaching procedures
Step 1. Warmup
1. Let the students read adjectives together.
2. Show the students four pictures and guide the students to say proper adjectives.
3. Help students to understand the hidden meaning of the title:
Don’t judge a person by his/her appearance.
Step 2. Presentation
Have the students finish the structure of the passage.
Part 1 Introduce a problem (Para. __1___)
Part 2 Analyze a problem (Paras. _23____)
Part 3 Solve a problem (Paras. _46____ )
Part 4 Draw a conclusion (Para. __7___ )
2. Ask the students to finish the details of the passage.
Step 3. Discussion
Activity 1:
Encourage students to discuss:
What is real beauty?
Encourage the students to say adjectives to describe persons as much as possible according to the four pictures.
Help the students to build their beauty standards.
Step 4. Writing
Guide the students to use the adjectives above to describe the boy in the picture. Take Yang Liwei for example:
I think Yang Liwei is goodlooking, because he is the first astronaut to travel in space. He is so brave that he is loved by all of us. /It is brave of him to travel in space. What a brave man he is!So I think he is the person with real beauty.
T tells the students to pay attention to red words and use sentence patterns as follow to describe a person:
I think …, because he/she... It is … of sb to …. So I think he is the person with real beauty.
Step 4. Conclusion
Enlighten students that the true beauty es from one's own inner beauty. All the reasons for this kind of beauty e from itself.
Ask the students to read it aloud.
Step 5. Homework assignment
Polish and write your short position with no less than 80 words.
