In life, it is attitude that matters most Each morning I wake up and say to myself, “You have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or you can choose to be in a bad mood. I choose to be in a good mood.
Life is all about choices. You can not change the appearance, but you can expose a smile; you can not determine the weather, but you can change your mood; you can not predict tomorrow, but you can seize today; you can not decide the length of life, but you can broaden the width of it. Holding a right attitude is the precondition to be successful because we are always doing something under the direction of our attitude. I firmly believe that a good attitude is the first pace to success and attitude matters most.
Now I want to introduce a great disabled swimmer to all of you, her name is Natalie Du Toit. As a professional swimmer, Natalie lost her left leg in a car accident, which really made her in the depth of dispair at first. But fortunately, she changed her attitude towards life very soon. She went on to swim against able-bodied athletes. On 3 May 2008, Natalie qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She also took part in the 2008 Summer Paralympics, winning five gold medals. She creates a life miracle. I am always inspired by her optimism.
Positive attitude is just like the lighthouse, which shows us the road to success, while negative attitude is like the drug, which takes you the road to perdition. Whether rich or poor, whether you are somebody or nobody, please keep an active attitude towards life.
Attitude will determine our success, our future and even our fate. It must be kept in mind that as teenagers of 21st century, we are able to fulfill our ambitions on condition that we take a positive and right attitude.
As the popu lar saying goes, “Almost any situation, good or bad, is affected by the attitude we bring to” . So please remember, in life it’s attitude that matters most.
That’s all for my speech. Thank you all for listening.。
