My Awesome Weekends
Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, I slept in really late until 9 o'clock. My mom lets me sleep as late as I want on the weekends since I have to wake up so early for school during the week. When I finally woke up, I went downstairs in my pajamas and had chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. They're my favorite!
After breakfast, I played outside for a while. My best friend Johnny lives next door, so he came over and we played freeze tag in my backyard for a couple hours. We got pretty sweaty from running around so much, but it was a nice sunny day. Johnny had to go home for lunch, but I kept playing outside by myself. I practiced dribbling my basketball and shooting some hoops.
In the afternoon, my dad took me and my little sister Sarah to the movies. We saw the new Pixar movie about the little robot who gets lost in the junkyard. It was really cute and funny! Sarah
loved it. We got a big bucket of popcorn to share and I had a large cherry Icee. After the movie, Dad took us to the park and we played on the swings and seesaws until it started getting dark out.
When we got home, Mom had made tacos for dinner which are another one of my favorites! After dinner, I took a shower and then played some video games in my room until bedtime. I had stayed up pretty late the night before, so I was tired and fell asleep easily.
On Sunday, we had to wake up early because my family goes to church every Sunday morning. I don't love having to wake up so early on the weekend, but church isn't too bad. They have a great Sunday school program for kids with games, stories, and snacks.
After church, we always go out for a big family lunch. This week we went to my favorite diner and I got a cheeseburger and fries...so good! When we got home from lunch, I spent the afternoon outside again playing catch and climbing trees with Johnny.
In the evening, we had a family game night. First we played Candyland which Sarah always wants to play. Then we played Monopoly which I'm better at than my parents! Mom is really
competitive and gets grumpy when she starts losing. It was hilarious. We had so much fun hanging out together as a family.
That was my awesome weekend! This upcoming weekend should be fun too. On Saturday, Johnny and I are going to have a sleepover at his house. His mom said we can build a fort in the living room out of blankets and eat pizza and watch movies all night. I can't wait!
Then on Sunday, my family is going to go strawberry picking at the u-pick farm outside of town. It's my favorite activity every spring when strawberries are in season. We'll spend a couple hours in the fields picking as many strawberries as we can. It's hard work but really fun too. I love eating the fresh strawberries right there in the field - they're so sweet and juicy!
After strawberry picking, we'll head home and my mom will bake fresh strawberry pies and cobblers with the strawberries we picked. They're so delicious when they're still warm from the oven with some vanilla ice cream on top. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I'll probably eat way too many strawberry desserts and get a stomachache, but it's totally worth it.
Those are my plans for the upcoming weekend. I'm really looking forward to the sleepover with Johnny and going strawberry picking with my family. Weekends are the best! I wish
they lasted forever instead of having to go back to school on Mondays. But I guess that just makes me appreciate weekends even more. I feel very lucky to have so much fun on my weekends!

My Weekend Adventures
Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, I woke up super early because I was just too excited. My best friend Tyler was coming over to have a sleepover and we had the whole weekend planned out.
First up was going to the new trampoline park that just opened up near our house. My mom dropped us off at 10am and we got to jump around for two whole hours! There were somany different trampolines - some were slanted into the walls so you could bounce really high, and some had foam pits you could jump into. My favorite was the dodgeball trampoline where you could throw balls at each other while jumping. Tyler and I were on the same team and we crushed the other kids!
After the trampoline park, we went home and had pizza for lunch. Tyler's mom picked him up then so he could go home and pack an overnight bag. I spent the afternoon playing video
games and watching YouTube videos. I was really looking forward to Tyler coming back over!
Finally at 5pm, Tyler's dad dropped him off again with his stuff. We ran upstairs to my room and I showed him all the forts and blanket tents I had made for our sleepover campout. We played for a few hours with all my superhero action figures, making up crazy storylines and adventures.
For dinner, my mom made us corn dogs, tater tots, and we got to have soda pop too which was a super special treat. Afterwards, we bundled up and made a little fire pit in our backyard since it was a nice night out. We roasted marshmallows and my dad came out to tell us some scary stories. They weren't too scary though because Tyler laughed through the whole thing.
Finally around 10pm, we went inside and got ready for bed. We told more funny stories and played games on our tablets until we couldn't keep our eyes open any longer. I had such an awesome time!
On Sunday morning, we woke up and my mom made us chocolate chip pancakes. We played outside for a little while until Tyler's mom came to pick him up around noon. It was sad to
see him go, but I was already counting down the days until next weekend!
Speaking of next weekend, I am so excited because we are going camping for real! My mom, dad, older sister, and I are packing up the car and driving a few hours away to go tent camping in the state forest. I can't wait!
We're going to leave right after school on Friday. I'll have my backpack with me full of snacks, comic books, and other fun stuff to do in the car ride. We get to stop for dinner at a fun burger place too before we get to the campsite.
Once we arrive, my dad and I are going to set up the tent and start a campfire while my mom and sister unpack everything else. We'll roast some hot dogs and make s'mores for dessert. I'm a pro marshmallow roaster now after practicing in our backyard last weekend!
On Saturday, we're going to spend the whole day exploring the hiking trails and looking for cool plants, bugs, and animals. My dad is going to teach me how to safely build a bigger campfire and I get to help collect firewood. I have a special caterpillar egg case that I'm going to leave out overnight too and see if any moths hatch inside it. That night we're having baked potatoes and corn on the cob cooked right on the fire!
I still need to pack my special backpack for the hiking part. I have a magnifying glass, binoculars, a net for catching bugs, my sketchpad and colored pencils for drawing nature, and an empty jar for collecting cool specimens. I can't wait to see what kind of neat things I discover!
On Sunday morning, my dad is letting me cook pancakes over the fire with his special pan. I'm going to try to flip them up super high, even though my mom says that's a bad idea and I'll just burn myself. After pancakes, we'll clean up camp and head home. I'm sure I'll be totally exhausted when we get back from all the camping fun!
I'm really lucky I get to go on so many awesome adventures. Between last weekend and next weekend, I'll have so many fun stories and memories to tell Tyler all about when he comes over again soon. I can't wait!

My Weekend Adventures
Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was too excited to sleep in. My best friend Tyler was coming over to spend the night, and we had made big plans. First up was swimming at the pool in our
neighborhood. My mom packed a cooler with drinks and snacks, and we rode our bikes over to the pool just after it opened at 10am.
The water was a little chilly at first, but we didn't mind. Tyler and I raced back and forth across the pool, playing games of chicken and marco polo. After a while, we got out and had a snack, dried off in the warm sun. Then we jumped right back in! We stayed at the pool until lunchtime when my mom said it was time to go home and eat.
After lunch, we went up to my room and played video games for a little while. My new favorite game right now is Super Cosmic Universe Explorer 5. It's a really cool space adventure where you get to explore different planets and galaxies. But then we got bored of that and decided to go outside.
We grabbed our skateboards and razor scooters and spent the whole afternoon riding around the neighborhood. We found some cool ramps and tried to do tricks, taking turns seeing who could go further and higher. I fell a couple times and scraped up my knees and elbow, but it didn't even hurt that much. Tyler and I were having such a blast.
When it started getting dark, we went inside and got cleaned up for dinner. Tyler's mom came over, and we all had pizza
together. After we ate, Tyler's mom said he could stay over but that we had to be good and not stay up too late. Yeah right!
As soon as the grownups went away, Tyler and I got into our pajamas and had an epic pillow fight battle. We jumped on the beds and threw pillows everywhere until feathers were flying all over my room. We were laughing so hard that we could barely catch our breaths. Finally, we collapsed on my bedroom floor in a pile of pillows and blankets, tired but still giggling.
We watched a movie on my laptop and ate lots of popcorn and candy before finally falling asleep around midnight. I had so much fun with Tyler! Sleepovers with your best friend are the best.
On Sunday morning, I woke up first and jumped on top of Tyler until he woke up too. We were starving, so we went out to the kitchen and made a humongous stack of pancakes with whipped cream and syrup. My parents didn't even get mad at the mess we made because we were being "self-sufficient little guys."
After breakfast, Tyler's mom came to pick him up and I was sad to see him go. But I get to see him again at school today, so it's not too bad. This coming weekend, I don't have any big plans yet. But I'm hoping my parents will let me have another
sleepover soon! Maybe this time Tyler and I can camp out in the backyard if the weather is nice.
Or maybe my family will go on a little trip together. I really want to go back to the lake house we went to last summer. We could go swimming, have a bonfire, and make s'mores! No matter what, I'm sure this weekend will be another fun adventure. I'll make sure to make the most of my time off from school. Being a kid is the best!

Last Weekend and My Plans for This Weekend
Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was just too excited. My best friend Jessica was coming over to have a sleepover at my house. We hadn't had a sleepover in forever because we've both been so busy with school and activities.
Jessica got to my house around 10am and we immediately ran upstairs to my room to pick out what movies we wanted to watch. We decided on Frozen since it's our favorite! We sang along to all the songs as we watched it. Jessica does a really good Olaf impression.
After the movie, we went downstairs and helped my mom make pizza for lunch. We got to roll out the dough and put all our favorite toppings on it. I loaded mine up with pepperoni and Jessica put pineapple on hers (which is kind of weird if you ask me!). While the pizza was baking, we played some video games. I beat Jessica at Mario Kart which made her kind of mad. She's really competitive!
Once the pizza was ready, we dug in. It was so delicious! Afterwards, we worked on the science project that's due next week. We had to make a volcano model that actually "erupts." We used baking soda, vinegar, dish soap, and food coloring to make it erupt over and over again. We got a little bit of the lava mixture on my bedroom floor but nothing too bad. I'll have to clean it up before my mom sees!
That evening, Jessica's mom dropped off her sleeping bag and we got ready for our big sleepover night. We brushed our teeth, put on our pajamas, and filled the room with all our stuffed animals. For dinner, we had macaroni and cheese with hot dogs cut up in it (my favorite meal!). We were nice and full after that.
Later that night, we had a dance party in my room. We turned out the lights, turned on my light-up ball that projected
stars all over the walls and ceiling, and blasted our favorite songs. We jumped around like crazy and acted so silly. It was a blast! Jessica and I even made up our own music video for Taylor Swift's new single.
Around midnight, we finally started to get tired. We laid out our sleeping bags, put on a movie, and snuggled in for the night.
I fell asleep during the movie but apparently Jessica stayed up way later. We were both pretty tired the next morning!
On Sunday, Jessica's mom came to pick her up after breakfast. We were both so sad that our sleepover weekend had come to an end. But we're already making plans for our next one! Maybe we'll have a camping sleepover in my backyard next time.
And that brings me to my plans for this upcoming weekend...I'm going to be super busy! On Saturday, I have my nephew's birthday party in the morning. He's turning 6 years old!
I picked out an awesome robot toy to give him. I think he'll really like it. The party is going to be at a bounce house place with all kinds of inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and bouncy houses to jump around in. I can't wait!
Then that afternoon, I have my own birthday party at a trampoline park. I'll be 10 years old! My parents are letting me invite my whole class from school over for some jump time and
pizza. We're all going to work up an appetite with all that bouncing around. I told my parents not to get me any presents this year since they're taking me to Disneyland next month for my actual birthday. I'm so excited for that trip!
On Sunday, I have a soccer game in the morning. My team has been working really hard this season and we're near the top of the league standings. I'll have to leave the game a little early though because, later that afternoon, I'm performing with my dance studio in our annual recital. We've been rehearsing our routines for months now. I have four different dances I'll be doing, including a lyrical piece, a jazz number, a tap routine, and a hip hop performance. Phew, it's going to be an exhausting but fun day!
After the dance recital, I think I'll be ready for a little rest before the new week starts. Maybe I'll take it easy by watching a movie or just laying around reading books and playing on my tablet. I need to recharge my batteries after such a busy weekend!
I always have such a great time on the weekends. There's no school, so I get to sleep in late (well, maybe not this weekend with all my activities!). And I get to do fun stuff like sleepovers, birthday parties, soccer, dance, and more! The weekdays are nice
because I get to see all my school friends. But there's nothing better than a weekend full of fun, excitement, and making memories. I can't wait for this weekend to arrive!

My Super Fun Weekends
Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was so excited. My best friend Timmy was coming over to spend the night. We had been planning this sleepover for weeks!
My mom made us chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast, which are my favorite. After we ate, Timmy and I went outside to play in the backyard. We took turns going really high on the swingset and seeing who could jump the farthest off. I won a few times, but Timmy beat me more. He's just such a good jumper!
Later in the morning, we went on a bike ride around the neighborhood. We raced each other down the big hill on Maple Street. I peddled as fast as I could, but Timmy got way ahead of me. His bike is newer and bigger than mine, so it's not really a fair race. Still, it was a blast!
When we got back home, we were really hungry from all that exercise. My mom made us peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch, along with some baby carrots and ranch dressing to dip them in. After we recharged with food, we played some video games in the basement for a little while.
Then in the afternoon, we went to the community pool. We jumped off the diving board and did cannonballs into the water over and over again. We also played a ton of pool games like Marco Polo. By the time the pool closed, we were completely worn out!
For dinner, we had pizza from my favorite place, Pietro's Pizza. My mom let us eat it in the living room while watching a movie. We watched one of the Avengers movies - I can't remember which one, they kind of all blend together. But it was still really fun to see all the superhero action!
After the movie, we had a snack of popcorn and candy. Timmy and I stayed up pretty late playing more video games and goofing around. We didn't fall asleep until after midnight, but my mom let us sleep in late the next morning.
On Sunday after Timmy went home, I spent the rest of the day just relaxing around the house. I played with my dog Buster for a while, throwing his favorite tennis ball around the backyard.
Then I read some of the next book in the Dog Man series. Those books are just hilarious!
Now I'm really looking forward to this upcoming weekend. My family is going camping at the state park! I love camping so much. We're going to go on a couple of hikes, hopefully see some cool wildlife, and make s'mores around the campfire. Camping in the great outdoors is one of my very favorite things to do.
On Saturday night, we're planning to look at the stars through my dad's new telescope he got for his birthday. I hope we'll be able to see some planets and the moon really up-close. Studying space is pretty neat. I've been learning about the solar system in science class, so I'll get to see some of that stuff in real life.
Then on Sunday before we leave the campground, we're going to try to go fishing at the lake there. I've never been fishing before, so I'm really excited to give it a try. My dad said he's going to teach me how to put the worm on the hook and everything. I hope I catch a big fish!
When we get back home from camping on Sunday evening, I'll probably be tired from all the activities. But it will still be fun
to tell Timmy all about my camping adventures when I see him at school on Monday. Maybe he'll be jealous that he missed out!
Those are my super fun weekend memories and upcoming weekend plans. Between the sleepover with my best bud and the camping trip with my family, it's been and will be a couple of awesome weekends. I feel very lucky to get to do so many fun things. Weekends are the best!

My Last Weekend and Upcoming Plans
Last weekend was so much fun! On Saturday morning, I woke up really early because I was too excited to sleep in. My best friend Jack was coming over for a sleepover and we had the whole weekend planned out with tons of awesome activities.
First up, we decided to have an epic Nerf battle in my backyard. We split into two teams and used all the trees, bushes, and my playground set as cover and forts. My team definitely won more of the battles, but Jack claims it was because I had the better hiding spots. Yeah right! I'm just a better marksman.
After we got tired from running around shooting each other with those foam darts for a couple hours, we came inside for
lunch. My mom made us grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, which is my favorite. She always cuts the sandwiches into triangles for me and Jack which makes them taste way better for some reason.
With our bellies full, we sprawled out on the living room floor and played some video games for a little bit. We tried out the new Kirby game which was really fun, but also pretty challenging in parts. Jack kept dying and getting frustrated, so we switched to Mario Kart instead. We played a bunch of races until my sister got home from her friend's house and wanted to join. She's a few years older than us but still loves that game.
Later in the afternoon, my dad took us to the movies to see the new Pixar film about the girl who gets stranded on a desert island. The animation looked incredible and the story had some really heartwarming parts that made me want to cry. Maybe I did shed a few tears, but I'll never admit it!
After the movie, we stopped for pizza on the way home. Jack and I both love stuffed crust so we got a large with ham and pepperoni. We played outside again for a little bit after dinner once the food settled. The sun was starting to go down so we looked for cool shapes in the clouds and watched the bats come out.
Once it got dark, we had a fire pit going in the backyard and made s'mores. There's nothing better than a perfectly toasted, gooey marshmallow sandwiched between two gram crackers and a piece of chocolate! We stayed up pretty late sitting around the fire, telling scary stories and jokes. I don't think either of us really got scared since the stories were so silly.
Sunday morning, I was a little sad that Jack had to go home after we had breakfast. My mom made her amazing blueberry pancakes which we covered in way too much syrup as always. We played one last hour of video games before his dad came to pick him up around lunchtime. Weekends with friends are the best but they always go by way too fast!
This upcoming weekend, I don't have too much planned yet which is nice. Saturdays are usually my favorite day since I get to sleep in late and there's no school. I'll probably spend most of the morning playing outside since the weather is supposed to be really nice. Maybe I'll go on a bike ride or just kick around a soccer ball in the backyard.
In the afternoon, I'm hoping to go to the mall with my mom to do some shopping. I've outgrown a lot of my clothes recently since I've grown so much this year. My mom promised we can stop at the Disney Store while we're there so I can check out the
new toys and plushies. I've also been really wanting the new Lego Star Wars set so hopefully I can convince her to get that for me too!
For dinner on Saturday, we'll probably just grill some burgers and hot dogs at home. I'll ask if I can have some friends over after we eat to have a bonfire again if the weather cooperates. You can never have too many s'mores!
I don't have any real plans set for Sunday yet. I'm sure my parents will want me to get started on some homework and get ready for the upcoming school week. But I'll definitely try my best to squeeze in some fun too! Maybe we can go for a hike or do something outdoors while it's still nice out. Or if the weather isn't good, I can hunker down with a good book or watch a movie.
No matter what though, I'll make sure to fit in plenty of time to just relax, recharge, and get ready for another busy week at school. Weekends are my favorite time since I get a break from all the hard work and classes. But I'll be ready to hit the ground running again on Monday morning after my nice weekend!。
