December 2011Doc ID 16009 Rev 101/33VNH5050A-EAutomotive fully integrated H-bridge motor driverFeatures■Output current: 30A■3V CMOS compatible inputs■Undervoltage and overvoltage shutdown ■Overvoltage clamp ■Thermal shutdown■Cross-conduction protection ■Current and power limitation ■Very low standby power consumption ■PWM operation up to 20 KHz■Protection against loss of ground and loss of V CC■Current sense output proportional to motor current■Output protected against short to ground and short to V CC■Package: ECOP ACK ®DescriptionThe VNH5050A-E is a full bridge motor driver intended for a wide range of automotiveapplications. The device incorporates a dual monolithic high-side driver and two low-side switches. All switches are designed using STMicroelectronics ® well known and proven proprietary VIPower ® M0 technology that allows to efficiently integrate on the same die a true Power MOSFET with an intelligentsignal/protection circuitry. The three dies are assembled in a PowerSSO-36 TP package on electrically isolated lead frames. This package, specifically designed for the harsh automotive environment offers improved thermalperformance thanks to exposed die pads. Moreover, its fully symmetrical mechanical design allows superior manufacturability at board level. The input signals IN A and IN B can directlyinterface to the microcontroller to select the motor direction and the brake condition. The DIAG A /EN A or DIAG B /EN B , when connected to an external pull-up resistor, enables one leg of the bridge. Each DIAG A /EN A provides a digital diagnostic feedback signal as well. The normal operating condition is explained in the truth table. The CS pin allows monitoring the motor current bydelivering a current proportional to its value when CS_DIS pin is driven low or left open. When CS_DIS is driven high, CS pin is in highimpedance condition. The PWM, up to 20KHz, allows to control the speed of the motor in all possible conditions. In all cases, a low level state on the PWM pin turns off both the LS A and LS B switches.Type R DS(on)I out V ccmaxVNH5050A-E50m Ω max (per leg)30A 41VPowerSSO-36 TPTable 1.Device summaryPackageOrder AFN5050和AFN100常见技术问题

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:• Read these instructions.• Keep these instructions.• Heed all warnings.• Follow all instructions.• Do not use this apparatus near water.• Clean only with dry cloth.• Be sure to use only properly rated power adaptors or universal power supplies (pedal board power supplies) with appropriate attention paid to proper voltage, am-perage and ground schemes. Improper voltage/amper-age being provided to the pedal may cause poor tone, inconsistent performance, damage to the unit or all of the above. Proper voltage, amperage and grounding specs are supplied at the end of this manual.• REPLACE THE BOTTOM LID after battery replace-ment or dip switch adjustment before the unit is used. Some electronic parts inside are static sensitive and can be damaged from even a small static charge from contact with carpet or other conductive surfaces. To do an A/B comparison between both dip switch settings with the bottom removed – play the unit upside down.DO NOT SET A POWERED UNIT “CONTROLS UP”ON ANY SURFACE WITH THE BOTTOM REMOVED.WELCOME T O T HE FAMIL Y!Thank you for choosing MESA/Boogie® and welcome to theMESA® Family! The same passion for excellence, commit-ment to quality and dedication to customer satisfaction ispresent in each and every product we make in our one-and-only shop in Petaluma, California, U.S.A. Rest assured thatthe very same people that hand-build the finest amplifiersin the world built your pedal and you have access to thesame resources for help that all our customers do. Note the orientation/direction of the batteryand terminals and replace it in the same position.JACKSIN This ¼” phono jack is the Instrument Input for thedevice. Connect the output of your guitar to this jack on theright side of the of the pedal with a shielded cable of goodquality. The jack is a switching type jack and the circuit isturned on when a cable is inserted. When the circuit isactivated by inserting a cable, the internal battery is beingused to power it – so be sure to unplug the cable from theINPUT when it’s not in use.OUT This 1/4” phono jack is the OUTPUT for the device.Connect the OUTPUT to the Input of your amplifier – orthe INPUT of the next device in line in your pedal board.CONTROLSLEVEL This is the master output level and it controls theamount of signal provided to the host amplifier.GAIN This control determines the amount of gain (over-drive) in the signal path.PRESENCE This increases or decreases the overallbrightness of the pedal.TONE This provides simple, global adjustment of theentire range of frequencies with one control.DIP SWITCH The DYNAPLEX™ has a selectable EQVoicing Switch located in the lower right edge of the bottomcircuit board inside the unit under the Bottom Plate. Remov-ing the Bottom allows access to this switch offering you twoEQ curves. Select either a Mid-Scooped EQ response thatexcels at Rock Chording with the EQ ON setting (as Shipped)or a flatter, punchier, more equally balanced response thatretains the Midrange frequencies and fills in the sound withthe EQ OFF. The latter can be effective for single note solo-ing, especially at lower gain settings where you may wantmore focus, definition and body. Again, the unit is shippedset to the EQ ON/Mid-scooped position. Push the dip switchtoward the Left to remove EQ circuitry and obtain midrangebalance and a more even response.DYNAPLEX™ SPECIFICATIONS• Dimensions (W/D/H): 2.87” x 4.77” x 2.28” (73mm x122mm x 58mm)• Weight: 0.865lbs (393g) with battery, 0.765lbs (347g)without battery• T rue Bypass Switching• Battery T ype: 9VDC (one)• Power Consumption (Current Draw): 9VDC/15mA• DC Adapter (Optional): Power Jack 2.1mm x 5.5mm,9VDC w ith Negative C enter (Regulated R ecommended).Failure to use correct adapter may cause damage to device.• Input Impedance: 1M OhmJACKSIN This ¼” phono jack is the Instrument Input for the device.
