Tests which are carried out within the framework of an initial sampling inspection are to be coordinated with the respective BMW quality control centers.1.2 General test conditions1.2.1 Number of test componentsThe test is to be conducted with at least one new part in all colors. In the case of versions in only one color at least three new parts are tested unless otherwise agreed1.2.2 Auxilary toolsThe tests are conducted on partial body shells, special checking fixtures with original installation components and/or are performed in the vehicle. In so doing, the following conditions are to be met: Checking fixture setup:The setup of the test specimen is according to the actual installation condition by using the original mounting points with the original attachment hardware and at the specified torques.Partial body shell setup:A partial body shell is to simulate the actual stiffness and elastic forces of the vehicle in the area of the test specimen so as to achieve genuine simulation.A partial vehicle body shell consists of off-tool and off-series components.Test vehiclesThe variant and OE-situation designed for the vehicle must be taken into account in the series of tests to be conducted.Page 5TP 303.5: 2010-01 1.2.3 Fitment positionThe tests are to be conducted in fitment position. Care must be taken to see to it that all test components in the climatic chamber are exposed to the same test conditions.There shall be no mutual interference among the test components (e.g. deformation resulting from stacking the test specimens).The climatic chamber used must be efficient enough in order to carry out the specified cycles within the appropriate periods (especially as far as temperature change rates are concerned).2.2 DocumentationDuring each test the proper sequence of test cycles with respect to temperature and humidity as a function of time is to be recorded by means of a suitable plotter.Evidence of a regular calibration must be submitted without prior request.Page 6TP 303.5 : 2010-013 PrüfzyklenNote: Program sections 1 through 12 must be carried out four times for parts a, b, c.Program sections 7 through 18 must be carried out four times for part d.(*) : concerns only part d25**: 6 hrs dwell time at the end can be implemented outside oft he test chamber forbetter test chamber utilization.Page 7TP 303.5: 2010-01 4 Evaluation criteria4.1 Test procedureThe following points should be considered before, during and aftercompletion of testing:•Each deviation of the test component from the current drawing must be recorded under 4.2;•All component-relevant processing parameters and the setup with material data must be recorded under 4.2;•All test specimens must be evaluated before the test in terms of any possible irregularities (e.g. gap, warping etc.) and recorded under 4.2;•There shall be no visible warping of the individual areas as well as of the entire component;•No crack formation;•No blister formation at any point of the component in the visual area and/or no flaking of the top coating and/or the lower coating is acceptable;•No staining is allowed to occur at the surface;•Each change during the test must be recorded and included under 4.2 with the following information: - Location of fault- Type of fault- Time of occurrence.•In the case of function-relevant components, function checks must be performed at all climate extremes concerning jamming, operating forces, hooking, operating noise, creaking, rattling etc.; •The final evaluation is to be made by using an untested reference component or by performing appropriate measuring methods (e.g. change in degree of gloss, brightness etc.).Dwell time in the test chamber at the end (23°C and 50% rel. humidity) can be reduced by 6 hrs for all parts a, b, c and d for better test chamber utilization (test specimens can be climatized in another room outside of the test chamber).4.2 Documentation and evaluationAll tests and measurements are to be fully recorded including any information obtained as a result of the checks carried out in accordance with 4.1. 2.2.2CAST STEELMicrostructures of steel castings may be determined from small samples taken on or close to the working surface of the die.Grain size is to be determined according to ASTM E 112.2.3HARDNESSHardness shall be measured on the casting or on the working surface of the coupon shown in Figure 1. The surface to be checked shall be flat and free of any porosity, inclusions, and decarburization. A minimum of 3.0 mm is to be ground or machined from the casting surface prior to hardness checking. Care must be taken not to burn the surface and cause hairline crack.All hardness measuring equipment shall be checked using standard blocks and/or calibrated according to the manufacturer’s recommended procedures prior to making any hardness checks.The Brinell hardness test is the preferred method for as-cast samples, performed according to ASTM specification E 10 or E 110 at a load of 3000 kg.The Rockwell hardness test is the preferred method for hardened samples,performed according to ASTM specification E 18 or E 118.Electronic rebound type testers providing a digital readout in Brinell areacceptable. Stress relieve in a furnace by heating to 565-595°C and holding for a minimum of one hour plus one hour per 25 mm of section thickness using the maximum section thickness. Furnace cool at a maximum rate of 55°C per hour to 260°C or lower. Cool toroom temperature in still air. History, International Studies, Liberal Arts, Modern Languages, Music, Philosophy, Political Economy, Political Studies, Psychology, Religion, Sports, Studies, Sociology and Gender Studies. In Science, the major subjects are Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology (Neuroscience). Interdisciplinary Concentrations or Minor specializations are also possible in many areas, including a unique Liberal Arts-Engineering program offered in collaboration with the Université de Sherbrooke.
Students may design their programs within a broad framework of options. A student may opt to major in a single subject — e.g. English, Psychology or Chemistry; or in some combination of sub-jects from more than one Division — e.g. Geography and History or Mathematics and Music. Honours programs are offered in many subjects. Major or Honours and Minor specializations may be com-bined in a program.
In addition to offering undergraduate programs leading to the B.Ed. degree, the School of Education prepares graduates for the Master of Arts in Education and the Master of Education.
Part-Time Studies
Bishop’s University is dedicated to fulfilling the lifelong learning needs of community part-time students, and offers courses in Knowlton and St. Lambert as well as on the Lennoxville campus. Its mission is to assure accessibility within the Eastern Townships to high quality educational programs for adult learners pursuing part-time degree and certificate studies and those seeking personal and professional development. A variety of degree courses are offered year round in the Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer ses-sions.
Association with Champlain Regional College Champlain Regional College is part of the provincial system of col-leges of general and vocational education (CEGEPs). One of its three sites has been on the campus of Bishop’s University since 1971. While Champlain’s administrative offices and some class-rooms are located in the College’s own building, virtually all other campus facilities are shared with Bishop’s. A spirit of mutual coop-eration between the two institutions and student bodies has allowed this arrangement, unique in the province, to succeed.

for Adult Education
Qualified graduates of the Thomas More Institute for Adult Education, 3405 Atwater Avenue, Montreal, Quebec, may be grant-ed the Bachelor of Arts degree by Bishop’s University, by an affili-ation agreement concluded by the two institutions in 1974. The degree program of the Thomas More Institute is designed for mature adults, normally over 23 years of age, and offers to such per-sons a special opportunity to continue their formal education in the Liberal Arts tradition.
