Mr. Brown lived in a small town by the sea. He had a small shop in the town center. His business was good and he made a lot of money. One day Mr. Brown was invited to a friend’s dinner party. After he got home, he went to look for the island without letting anybody know anything about his plan. At last he found the island and saw some one-eyed children. He was so happy that he caught one of them. A lot of one-eyed people saw this and ran after him with knives in their hands. Mr. Brown gave up the child and tried to run away, but it was too late.

One hundred elephants, 250 lions, 150 tigers…These are just a few of the patients that animal dentists, Peter Kertesz, has treated up till now.
Today at Whipsnade Zoo he will treat another patient—a 165kg, 12-year-old lion who has three broken teeth.
Many people, including the zoo’s vet, nurses and animal keepters, are there to help Peter Kertesz.
First, a powerful tranquilliser is used to make the lion unconscious. Then it is carried to a place where Peter can operate on it.
After that, Peter and his assistant, Monika Mazurkiewicz, set up the equipment which will be used to operate on the lion. Peter has spent £80,000 on the equipment.
With the help of a powerful light, Peter uses an electric drill to operate on the lion’s teeth. Monika then pours water onto its teeth to wash some things away.
It is easier to operate on a lion than on some other animals, such as elephants.
After about an hour and forty-five minutes, the last problem tooth is dealt with.
The lion is then carried back to where it lives.
“Everybody out!” orders the vet before it wakes up.
The lion has now got better and has been eating with the other lions without any problem.
When other people ask Peter Kertesz how he operates on a 12-year-old lion, he replies, “Very carefully.”

At the beginning, I found English was really hard. Later on, I realized there was something wrong with my ways of studying. Maybe my experience can give you some tips on how to learn English well.
