If you are hungry, what do you do? Have your favorite meal and stay quiet after that? Just like your stomach, your mind is also hungry. But it never lets you know, because, you keep it busy thinking about your friends or favorite stars. So it silently serves your needs and never lets itself grow. When mind loses its freedom to grow, creativity(创造性) sets a full stop. This might be the reason why we all sometimes think "What happens next?", "Why can't I think?"
Hunger of the mind can be actually solved through wide reading. Why reading but not watching TV? It is because reading has been the most educative tool used by us right from childhood. Since it develops other ways of our life, we have to take help from reading.
Once you read a book, you run your eyes through the lines and your mind tries to explain something to you. The interesting part of the book is stored in your mind as a seed(种子). Now this seed is unknowingly used by you to develop new ideas. If it is used many times, the same seed can give you great help to relate a lot of things, which you would have never thought of in your wildest dreams!
This is nothing but creativity. Also this makes a huge contribution to your vocabulary. Within no time you can start talking with your friends in English or any other language and never run out of the right words.
So guys, do give food for your thoughts by reading, reading and more reading.
Now what are you waiting for? Go and get a book!

Is It Worth Buying Organic Food? Organic food, grown without artificial chemicals, is increasingly popular nowadays. Consumers have been willing to pay up to twice as much for goods with organic labels (商标). However, if you think paying a little more for organic food gets you a more nutritious and safer product, you might want to save your money. A study led by researchers at Stanford University says that organic products aren't necessarily more nutritious, and they're no less likely to suffer from disease-causing bacteria, either.
The latest results, published in the Annuals of Internal Medicine, suggest that buyers may be wasting their money. "We did not find strong evidence that organic food is more nutritious or healthier," says Dr. Crystal Smith-Spangler from Stanford. "So consumers shouldn't assume that one type of food has a lower risk or is safer."
For their new study, Smith-Spangler and her colleagues conducted a review of two categories of research, including 17 studies that compared health outcomes between consumers of organic against traditional food products, and 223 studies that analyzed the nutritional content of the foods, including key vitamins, minerals and fats.
While the researchers found little difference in nutritional content, they did find that organic fruit and vegetables were 20% less likely to have chemicals remaining on the surfaces. Neither organic nor traditional foods showed levels of chemicals high enough to go beyond food safety standards. And both organic and traditional meats, such as chicken and pork, were equally likely to be harmed by bacteria at very low rates. The researchers did find that organic milk and chicken contained higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids, a healthy fat also found in fish that can reduce the risk of heart disease. However, these nutritional differences were too small, and the researchers were unwilling to make much of them until further studies confirm the trends.
Organic food is produced with fewer chemicals and more natural-growing practices, but that doesn't always translate into a more nutritious or healthier product. The U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) states that "whether you buy organic or not, finding the freshest foods available may have the biggest effect on taste." Fresh food is at least as good as anything marketed as organic.
24. The new research questions whether organic food __________.

D. is really more nutritious and healthier

26. Which of the following is relatively healthier according to the passage?
A. Organic chicken and pork.
B.Traditional chicken and pork.
C. Organic milk and chicken.
D. Traditional fruit and vegetables.
27. What is the author’s attitude toward organic food?

The pursuit of happiness can be a lifelong search for some – but researchers believe they may have found a key factor in feeling a greater overall sense of well-being.
Nottingham Trent University researchers found that the more an individual identified with a particular group, such as family, in their local community or through a hobby, the happier they were with their life.
“Our findings suggest that thinking more about one’s group life could have significant benefits for an overall sense of well-being,” said Dr. Juliet Wakefield, a psychologist at Nottingham Trent University.
“We tend to identify with groups that share our values, interests and life priorities(优先), as well as those that support us in times of crisis, and we can see how this would be linked to happiness. Our work taps into (发掘) knowledge that is deep within all of us, but we often forget due to the fast-paced and achievement-focused nature of modern life – to be your best self, you are likely to require the support of others.”
They studied how 4,000 participants felt connected to certain groups, and then measured the influe nce this had upon their levels of happiness. It’s important to note that identifying with a group isn’t the same as membership, though. You can be a member of a group with which you feel no connection at all. It’s that subjective (主观的) sense of belonging th at’s crucial(决定性的) for happiness.
Health care professionals should encourage people to join groups that they are
interested in, or which promote their values and ideals, as well as advising people to maintain association with groups they already belong to. Simple social interventions (干预) such as this could in turn help to reduce care expense and prevent future ill health.
32.According to the text, who are much happier?
A. Individuals who have happy families.
B.Individuals who have a good many hobbies.
C.People who feel a strong sense of belonging to a group.
D.People who gain membership of many social groups.
33.What do people tend to forget in Juliet’s view?
A.They need others’ help for self-improvement.
B.They live a busy and stressful life.
C.Happiness is of the same importance as work.
D.They should connect with like-minded people.
34.What does the underlined word “this” in the last paragraph refer to?
A.Promotion of people’s values and interests.
B.Reduction of health care expenses.
C.Social involvement with certain groups.
D.Health care experts’ encouragement and advice.
35.What may be the best title for the passage?
A.The Nature of Happiness.
B.The Secret to Happiness.
C.The Search for Happiness.
D.The Attitude to Happiness.
