I'm Going on a Big Adventure!
Next month, my family and I will go on a huge trip! We are going to visit my aunt and uncle who live far away in another state. I have never been there before, so I am super excited and a little bit nervous too.
First, we will drive for a really long time to get to the airport. My dad says the drive will take over 2 hours! That's like being in the car forever. I will try my best not to ask "Are we there yet?" too many times. I know that really annoys my parents. Instead, I will look out the window and play some games on my tablet to help pass the time.
Once we get to the airport, we will go inside the big terminal and check in for our flight. I've been on planes before but I still think airports are really cool. There are so many people rushing around to catch their planes. The signs with all the city names make me dream about traveling the world one day. Maybe I will be an explorer or pilot when I grow up!
After checking in, we will go through security screening. I don't like taking off my shoes and putting my backpack on the x-ray belt. But I know we have to follow all the security rules so everyone stays safe. My mom packs special snacks that I'm allowed to take on the plane since we can't bring some foods.
Finally, we will get to board the plane and find our seats. I always want a window seat so I can look outside. The planes look so small on the ground, but feel huge once you're inside. As we taxi down the runway, I'll get butterflies in my stomach from excitement and nervousness. But then the plane will lift off and we'll be in the air! I'll strain my neck staring out the window, watching the tiny houses and cars below get smaller and smaller.
During the long flight, I plan to read some of the new books I bought, listen to music, and maybe watch a movie or two. Hopefully I can sleep a little as well since I have trouble sleeping sitting up. The flight attendants will come around with snacks and drinks periodically. I always get really thirsty on planes for some reason.
After what will feel like forever, the pilot will finally announce that we are starting our descent. I'll perk up eagerly and look out the window as the ground slowly gets closer. Seeing a new city
from the sky is so cool! Maybe I'll even spot some famous landmarks.
Once we land and deplane, we will collect our luggage and look around for my aunt and uncle. I can't wait to see them! It's been so long since I've gotten hugs from Aunt Rachel. As we walk out of the terminal, I'll take a deep breath of the new city's air. It's going to smell different than back home.
My aunt and uncle will take us to their house, which will be my home for the next week. The first evening, I'm sure I'll be pretty tired from all the traveling. So we will probably just order pizza or something simple for dinner. I'll get a good night's sleep in my cousin's bedroom, dreaming about all the adventures to come.
The next day, we will wake up bright and early to start exploring! My aunt will pack us a picnic lunch and we'll go hiking at a national park nearby. I've never been to that part of the country before, so I'm really excited to see all the different trees, plants, and animals. What if we spot a bear or mountain lion? Of course I'll be sticking very close to the grown-ups just in case!
Another day, my uncle works from home. So we will drive downtown to visit some museums and landmarks. I'll get to see famous buildings, art, dinosaur fossils, and who knows what else!
Going to museums is my favorite because you can learn so much. My brain is going to be exploding with new information by the end of the day.
Part of me is anxious about being in an unfamiliar city though. What if I get separated from my family in a crowd or get lost? My parents have warned me to always stay close and not wander off. I'll make sure to follow their instructions very carefully. Maybe I'll even hold one of their hands just to be extra safe.
No trip would be complete without a visit to the local mall! My aunt and uncle say the mall near their house is huge and has dozens of stores. They're going to give me some souvenir money to spend. So I'll get to pick out a few shirts, toys, or treats to remember my trip by. I wonder what kind of unique local things I'll be able to find?
On one of our last days, we will go bowling with my cousin's family. It will be fun to meet them and make some new friends, even if it's just for a little while. I'm a decent bowler for my age, so maybe I'll even show off my skills a bit! Afterward, we'll go out for pizza or burgers to celebrate.
Eventually, our amazing week-long vacation will have to come to an end. We'll pack up all of our souvenirs and any dirty
clothes. I'll give Aunt Rachel and Uncle Bob huge hugs goodbye. Who knows when I'll get to see them again? I always hate saying goodbye.
The hardest part will be the long journey back home. My uncle will drop us off at the airport hours before our flight. Then we'll have to get through security, find our gate, and wait impatiently to board. I'm always scared I'll get bored or lose my boarding pass during that time!
Finally, we'll get to board the plane headed home. As we take off, I'll try to find my aunt and uncle's neighborhood out the window one last time. Then I'll settle in for the long trip back, probably napping on and off. Being crammed in a tiny seat for hours is so tiring.
When we land back at our home airport, I'll feel happiness and sadness at the same time. Happy to be home but sad our amazing vacation is over. My bed will be calling my name after being away for so long! Still, I'll stay up late looking through all the photos and souvenirs from our trip.
I just know I'm going to have so many incredible memories from this adventure. My mind will be full of new sights, sounds, flavors and experiences. Maybe my family will start a tradition of taking one big trip every year! I'll definitely be begging them to
bring me along. There's a whole world out there for me to explore.

My Big Trip Coming Up!
I am so excited because next month I am going on a really fun trip! My mom and dad told me a few weeks ago that we are going to go to Disney World in Florida. I have never been to Disney World before, but I have heard so many amazing things about it. All of my friends who have gone say it is the most magical place on Earth!
We are going to drive down to Florida from our house in Michigan. That means we will be in the car for a very long time - almost an entire day of driving! I don't mind though, because I love going on road trips. My mom always lets me bring some toys and books to keep me busy in the car. And we will probably stop a few times to eat and stretch our legs.
When we finally get to Florida, we are staying at a big resort right near Disney World. My parents booked us a room that has two queen-sized beds and even a little kitchenette area with a microwave and a fridge. The resort also has lots of pools and
activities to do there too if we want to take a break from the parks.
The first day we arrive, we will just relax at the hotel and maybe go swimming in one of the pools. But the next morning, we will wake up bright and early to head into the Magic Kingdom! That is the park with Cinderella's castle right in the middle. I am going to wear my Mickey Mouse ears and I just know I am going to see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and all the other classic Disney characters walking around. I can't wait to get my autograph book signed by them!
We are going to spend two whole days at the Magic Kingdom because there is just so much to do there. We will go on rides like Splash Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, and Space Mountain. My dad says I'm finally tall enough this year to go on Space Mountain, which is a really big roller coaster in the dark! I'm a little nervous but I know it will be fun. We will also watch lots of shows and parades and eat plenty of yummy Disney snacks like Mickey pretzels and Dole Whip pineapple floats.
After our two days at the Magic Kingdom, we are switching over to Epcot for the next day. Epcot is all about learning about different cultures and countries from around the world. There is a huge golf ball shaped dome called Spaceship Earth that you
can go inside and learn about communication. And there are different "worlds" set up representing countries like Mexico, Norway, China, and Morocco. We can eat foods from those places and see people performing dances and music. I'm especially excited for the rides at Epcot like Test Track, Mission: Space, and Soarin' Around the World.
On our fourth day, we will go to Disney's Hollywood Studios park. This is where we will get to experience Star Wars and Toy Story themed rides, shows, and experiences. Dad really wants to go on the Star Tours ride and see the Star Wars launch bay. I can't wait to meet Woody, Buzz, and Jesse from Toy Story though! I'm going to ask them to go to Pizza Planet with me.
Finally, on our last day we are going to Disney's Animal Kingdom park. This park is all about animals, the environment, and conservation efforts. We can go on an authentic safari tour and see real live animals like elephants, lions, and zebras. There are also some thrilling rides that have an animal theme, like Expedition Everest which is a crazy roller coaster where you encounter a yeti! I've heard the Kilimanjaro Safari is really cool too, where you ride an open-air vehicle and see the animals up close.
I just know this Disney vacation is going to be the best trip ever! We are going to have so much fun riding all the rides, seeing all the shows, eating lots of delicious food, and making amazing family memories. I've been counting down the days on my calendar. Only a few more weeks until we depart on our magical Disney adventure!

My Amazing Future Vacation
Next summer, my family is going on an awesome vacation that I'm really excited about! We're going to travel to Hawaii for two whole weeks. I've never been to Hawaii before, but I've seen pictures and it looks like such a beautiful and fun place.
We'll be staying in a big resort right on the beach in Maui. The resort has several swimming pools, waterslides, a lazy river, and lots of other cool stuff. My little brother and I are planning to spend most of our time splashing around in the pools and playing at the beach. The beach has bright white sand and the ocean is this incredible shade of blue that you can't really imagine unless you see it in person.
One day, we're going to take a boat tour around the island to see if we can spot any whales or dolphins. I really hope we get
to see some because that would be so amazing! The tour guide said we'll probably see sea turtles too, which will be neat. I'll make sure to bring my camera to take lots of pictures of any marine animals we come across.
Another day, we're going hiking through the jungle to see a beautiful waterfall. The hike is supposed to be pretty easy, even for kids. We'll get to walk across little bridges over streams and see all sorts of exotic flowers and plants. I can't wait! At the end, we'll get to swim in the pool at the bottom of the waterfall. How cool is that?
My mom really wants to go snorkeling because she loves seeing all the tropical fish and coral up close. My dad isn't too sure about it because he's a little nervous about swimming that far out, but I think my brother and I will convince him to give it a try. We're getting snorkeling lessons included at our resort, so they'll teach us everything we need to know to snorkel safely. I bet it's going to be awesome getting to see the underwater world like that.
One night, we're going to a luau which is this big Hawaiian party with food, music, and dances telling stories about the islands. They're going to roast a whole pig underground and serve it along with lots of other island dishes. I can't remember
the name of the dish, but they're going to have some sort of dessert made with coconut and pineapple that's supposed to be delicious. There will be dancers in grass skirts doing hula dances around a fire pit. It's going to be such a cool cultural experience!
On our last day, we're going on a helicopter tour to see the whole island from the sky. I'm a tiny bit nervous about riding in a helicopter, but I know it will be totally safe. Plus, can you imagine how incredible the views will be from up there? We'll get to see waterfalls, beaches, jungles, and even volcanoes all from above. I'm going to try to take as many pictures and videos as I can to remember it all forever.
I'm sure there will be lots of other fun surprises and activities we haven't even planned for yet too. Hawaii just seems like one of those places where you can find adventure around every corner. I already know this is going to be the best vacation ever! Two weeks is going to fly by so fast. I'm going to be so sad when it's time to leave.
I can't wait to get home and show all my friends the souvenirs I buy and the pictures I take. Maybe I'll even be able to convince my teacher to let me do a presentation about my trip to Hawaii for the whole class. Either way, I'm definitely going to be
talking about this vacation for years to come. It's going to be an experience I'll never forget!

My Awesome Upcoming Vacation!
Next summer, I'm going to have the best vacation ever! My family and I are going to travel to an amazing place called Hawaii. I've never been there before, but I've seen pictures and it looks like paradise. I can't wait to go!
We're going to fly on a huge airplane to get to Hawaii. I'm a little nervous because I've never been on a plane for that long before. But I'm also really excited! On the plane, I'm going to watch movies, play games, and hopefully sleep a little too since it's a really long flight. I'm going to make sure to look out the window when we're up in the sky too. It will be so cool to see everything from up high!
When we get to Hawaii, the first thing I'm going to do is run out of the airport and feel the warm, tropical air on my face. I've heard Hawaii has the most beautiful weather, with sunshine and gentle breezes almost every day. Our hotel is going to be right on the beach, so I'll be able to walk out from our room and immediately see the bright blue ocean stretching out in front of
me. I'm going to spend so much time playing in the sand and swimming in that gorgeous water!
My family is going to do so many fun activities while we're in Hawaii. We're going to go on a boat tour to see whales up close.
I really hope we spot some big humpback whales! We're also going to go snorkeling and I'll get to see tons of bright, colorful fish and other cool sea creatures. I've never gone snorkeling before, so I'm a little nervous about using the breathing tube underwater. But I know it's going to be an incredible experience.
Another day, we're going on a long hike through the mountains and jungles to see beautiful waterfalls. I'll need to wear good hiking shoes and bring lots of water and snacks. I'm going to take so many pictures of the plants, birds, and scenery we'll see along the way. At the end of the hike, we'll get to swim in a cool, fresh pool under a tall waterfall. I can't wait to feel the water splashing down on me! It's going to be the best reward after all that hiking.
In the evenings, my family and I are going to relax on the beach and watch the sunset. The sunsets in Hawaii are supposed to be some of the most amazing in the world, with the sky turning bright orange, pink, and purple colors. We're going to roast marshmallows and make s'mores around a beachside fire
pit. I'm definitely going to try to stay up late a few nights so I can look up at the bright stars too. I've heard the stars in Hawaii are incredible since there's no big city lights to dull their glow.
While we're in Hawaii, we're also going to learn about the island's culture and history. One day, we'll visit a volcano park to see the unique volcanic landscapes. Another day, we'll go to a luau - which is a big Hawaiian party with dancing, games, and a delicious feast. I'm really excited to see the Hula dancers tell stories through their graceful movements. Of course, I'm also looking forward to trying lots of yummy Hawaiian foods like poke, chicken long rice, and haupia coconut pudding.
We're going to spend 10 wonderful days soaking up the sun, playing at the beach, and exploring all that Hawaii has to offer. I know this vacation is going to be full of incredible memories that I'll never forget. I'll get to see and do so many new things! I'm going to take a ton of photos and videos to remember every bit of our amazing Hawaii trip.
When it's finally time to go home, I'm going to be so sad to leave behind the breathtaking scenery and relaxing island atmosphere. But I'll definitely be begging my parents to take us all back to Hawaii again soon! This upcoming vacation is going to be the adventure of a lifetime and I absolutely can't wait.

My Big Summer Adventure
Next summer, I'm going on the most exciting trip ever! My family and I are going to travel across the United States for three whole weeks. We're going to see so many amazing places and have the best adventures. I can't wait!
The first stop on our journey will be New York City. We're going to spend a few days exploring the huge city. I'm really looking forward to seeing the towering skyscrapers, bright lights, and bustling streets. We're definitely going to visit the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, and the American Museum of Natural History. I hope we get to go to the top of the Empire State Building too! I've heard the view from up there is incredible. Maybe we'll even catch a Broadway show while we're in the city. How cool would that be?
After leaving New York, we'll drive down the coast to Washington D.C. I'm super excited to visit the nation's capital and see all the famous monuments and museums. We're going to tour the White House and the U.S. Capitol Building. I can't wait to stand in front of the Lincoln Memorial and see the powerful statue of Abraham Lincoln. At the National Air and Space
Museum, I'll get to see real rockets and airplanes up close. We might even catch a glimpse of the President! Wouldn't that be amazing?
Then we're going to drive way out west to the Grand Canyon. I've seen pictures, but I know they don't do it justice. I can only imagine how breathtaking the enormous canyon will be in person. We're going to take a guided hiking tour along the rim so we can really take in the incredible views. We might even go whitewater rafting down the Colorado River that runs through the canyon! How adventurous would that be? I'll have to remember to bring my camera to capture all the natural beauty.
After the Grand Canyon, our next destination will be Los Angeles, California. I'm looking forward to feeling the warm sunshine and seeing the famous Hollywood sign up close. Maybe we'll even spot a celebrity while we're there! We're planning to spend a day at Universal Studios Hollywood riding all the awesome roller coasters and seeing the cool movie props and sets. I'm sure we'll also visit the Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach to people watch and play in the ocean waves.
On our way back home, we're going to stop for a few days in Las Vegas! I've never been somewhere like Vegas before with the bright neon lights, huge hotels, and all-night entertainment.
We're going to watch the spectacular fountain shows and circus acts. I wonder if my parents will let me try gambling with a few quarters in the casinos? Just for fun of course! I'm also really excited they have an entire museum just for pinball machines and vintage arcade games. Maybe I can finally beat my high scores.
Those are just some of the highlights, but I know there will be many more adventures and surprises along the way. We're going to make so many incredible memories as a family. I'll get to experience new cultures, try different foods, and see places I've only read about in books. This summer road trip is going to be the journey of a lifetime! When I get back, I'll have enough stories to fill a whole book. I can't wait to share my big adventure with my friends and make them all jealous they didn't get to come along! It's going to be the best summer ever.

My Upcoming Summer Vacation Trip
Next summer, I am going to go on a really exciting trip with my family! We will be traveling to a place called the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon is a huge canyon or valley in the rock
that has formed over millions of years. It is located in the state of Arizona in the United States.
To get there, we will first take an airplane flight from our home city. I have been on an airplane before, but I still get a little nervous during takeoff and landing. However, once we are up in the sky, I enjoy looking out the window at the clouds and the tiny houses and cars down below. The flight will probably take a few hours.
Once we arrive at the airport in Arizona, we will pick up our rental car and drive to the Grand Canyon itself. I am told the drive from the airport will take us a few more hours through the hot, dry desert landscapes. I imagine we will see lots of cacti and rocky mountains along the way.
When we finally arrive at the Grand Canyon, the first thing I want to do is go stand at one of the viewpoints and look out over the massive, mile-deep canyon. I have seen pictures, but I know it will be much more incredible to see it with my own eyes. The sheer scale of it must be amazing. I wonder if we will be able to see the Colorado River at the very bottom?
Our family will be staying in one of the lodges right along the rim of the Grand Canyon for a few nights. I hope we get a room with a view overlooking the canyon itself so we can watch
the sunrise and sunset over it each day. I have read that the colors and shadows constantly change throughout the day as the sun moves across the sky. It will be so beautiful to experience that in person rather than just in photos.
During our time there, we are also going to take a hiking trail that goes partway into the canyon itself. The hike won't go all the way to the bottom, but I am excited to be able to look up at the tall canyon walls towering above us. We will need to bring plenty of water and snacks since it gets very hot down in the canyon, even early in the morning.
Another fun activity we have planned is to go on a mule ride along the canyon rim. Mules are similar to donkeys, and they were used many years ago by miners, explorers and others who travelled through the difficult terrain of the canyon area. The mule ride will allow us to cover more ground than we could on foot to see more of the breathtaking views.
In addition to outdoor activities, we will also spend some time in the visitor centers learning about the geology and natural history of how this amazing natural wonder was formed over the eons by erosion from the Colorado River. There is a museum with exhibits as well as shows and movies to teach people about the Grand Canyon.
On one of the evenings, we may even join one of the stargazing programs they offer after dark. With no city lights around, the starry night skies over the canyon are supposed to be incredible for seeing planets, galaxies and constellations with telescopes and guidance from astronomers.
Overall, I am most looking forward to being surrounded by the sheer grandeur of this iconic natural landscape. The Grand Canyon has been around for millions upon millions of years, yet it will be my first chance to experience its ancient beauty and magnitude in person. It seems like the type of place that will make me feel very small, but also make me appreciate how fortunate I am to visit such a wondrous, unique place on our planet.
I know this trip will create memories my family and I will cherish forever. When people ask what I did on my summer vacation, I will have an amazing adventure to tell them all about!
I can't wait for it to be summer so we can start our journey to the Grand Canyon. It's going to be epic!。
