In the wild, lions, tigers and hyenas (鬣狗) are fierce competitors, all seeking out the same prey(捕获物) and often even stealing each other's kills! But don't tell that to these five youngsters who believe that they were born to be best of friends.
The special group including three baby lions, one baby tiger and one baby hyena, all born at the Akwaaba Lodge in Rustenburg, South Africa were abandoned (遗弃) immediately by their mothers. Fortunately the owner of the Akwaaba Lodge,Layla Cajee decided to not only raise the young babies, but also, place them in the same room. Not knowing any better, the animals have all become best friends who spend their whole day playing and nights, cuddled up (依偎) next to each other.
Like every young child who is just learning to walk, each one has an obvious personality. According to Layla, the leader of the group is the fivemonthold tiger Bella, who controls everything including trying to get the biggest share during mealtimes. The lions—Delano, Romeo and Maximus who are also five months old, are surprisingly shy. As for sixmonthold Milika, the hyena? She is the naughty and noisy one, always ready to pick a fight with her temporary friends.
Temporary, because this group will not last forever. Within about two years, as soon as the animals turn into dangerous predators, they will be given their own living places. But it is thanks to this unusual relationship that they will be able to see that day, because none of them would have been able to survive alone in the wild.
What would be interesting to observe is their relationship if they ever meet each other in the wild. Will they compete with each other as fiercely for the same prey as they normally do or,will they remember the fact that they were once friends and share their kills?

The 1993 movie Jurassic Park wasn't the first film to show dinosaurs(恐龙) in the modern world. But it did a good job of bringing the idea of cloning dinosaurs into popular culture. It represented dinosaur cloning in a way that made sense to a lot of people, and it was a successful film, making more than $900 million worldwide.
Jurassic Park built on the idea of getting DNA from mosquitoes(蚊子) kept in amber. While this might seem possible at first sight,it's highly unlikely that scientists could find usable dinosaur DNA in mosquito fossils(化石).Scientists would need a very specific sample—a female mosquito that had taken lots of dinosaur blood immediately before being trapped(困住) in amber.Since fossilization in amber is a relatively rare event, the chances of this happening are pretty small.
The lack of possible samples isn't the only problem. Most insect fossils found in amber are also too young to contain dinosaur blood—dinosaurs were gone by the time the insects became trapped. Many insects went bad from the inside out after they were trapped, leaving nothing inside for scientists to try to find. Finally, the sample would have to be very intact, since DNA can break down quickly in the presence of water.
But if researchers did find a perfectly kept mosquito with a body full of dinosaur blood, bringing back its DNA would still be difficult. The blood with the dinosaur DNA would be surrounded by the body of an insect, which has its own DNA.There could also be DNA from other cells trapped in the amber. Then,of course, there's the DNA in the laboratory itself—and in the body of the scientist.
