Write a list poem
Writing directions:
1. about anything you are interested in 2. Don’t have to rhyme 3. refer to page 10 poem C
One of the students type his poem into the computer while the others create their own poems on their exercise books
Some students reading their poems:
An example: If I were the ruler of the world, I would carry out
benevolent policy. If I won a scholarship to a university abroad, I
would make the most of it to get a better education. If I were a gifted pianist, I would give a solo
concert to the nursing home to comfort the old, relieving their loneliness.
Another example:
Gradually the traffic is more and more busy Gradually the haze is more and more heavy Gradually the street is more and more noisy Gradually the air is polluted more and more
Collect the students’ homework and comment on it
Share the teacher’s view about the homework with the students
badly Gradually it is more and more difficulty for
people to identify objects clearly Gradually the government have to take it into
consideration seriously
Share the poem on the screen together, let some students pick out some strengths, so that the whole class can learn from; let some students pick out some shortcomings so that they can avoid them in their future writing.
Summarize:
1. List poems seem to work best when they are written with a parallel structure
2. Try to compose it as meaningful as you can
