外国朋友来玉林旅游用英语作文
My Foreign Friend Visits Yulin
Last month, my family had a very special visitor - my friend Anna from Germany! Anna and her parents came all the way from Europe to China to visit us in Yulin. I was so excited to show her around my hometown.
Anna arrived on a Saturday morning. When we picked her up from the airport, she looked a little tired from the long flight, but she had a big smile on her face. "Ni hao!" she said, which means "hello" in Chinese. I was really impressed that she already knew some Chinese!
After Anna rested a bit at our house, we headed out to start exploring Yulin. Our first stop was the famous Yulin Sugar Pagoda. Anna's eyes went wide when she saw the giant white tower. "Wow, it's so tall!" she exclaimed. The pagoda was built over 800 years ago and is one of the best preserved ancient pagodas in all of China. We climbed the spiral staircase to the top and enjoyed the beautiful view over the city.
Next, we visited the Yulin East Gate Tower. This huge historic gate with its grey bricks and curved roofs is an iconic landmark of Yulin. Anna loved checking out the displays of ancient weapons,
pottery and other artifacts inside the tower museum. She took a ton of pictures to show her classmates back home.
One of the coolest things we did was visit the underground karst cave called Mawangdui Cave. After gearing up with helmets and headlamps, we descended into the massive cave chamber filled with incredible rock formations. Stalactites hung from the ceiling like giant icicles and stalagmites protruded from the ground. The colors were amazing - red, orange, yellow and even blue! Anna couldn't stop saying "whoa" as we walked through the maze of caverns.
When we returned home after a full day of sightseeing, Anna flopped onto the couch, exhausted but beaming. "China is so beautiful and amazing," she told me dreamily. "I'm having the time of my life!" I was overjoyed that my German friend was enjoying her first trip to my hometown so much.
Over the next week, we showed Anna many other cool places around Yulin. We toured the Qintan Hakka Earth Buildings, an incredible village made up of huge cylindrical earth houses built by the Hakka people centuries ago. We went bamboo rafting down the Longjiang River, drifting past gorgeous rocky gorges and lush forest. Anna even got to see a cormorant fishing
show, where fishermen use trained cormorant birds to catch fish in the river!
One morning, we took Anna to the local markets which are always bustling with energy and excitement. The sights, sounds and smells were a total sensory explosion for her - the calls of vendors selling fresh produce, meats and spices, the tang of dried fish and fermented tofu in the air. Anna's favorite part was the narrow alleyways piled high with souvenirs, handicrafts, clothes and accessories. "I'm going to need another suitcase for all my shopping!" she laughed.
Before we knew it, it was time for Anna and her parents to head back home to Germany. I was so sad to see them go! We exchanges goodbye hugs at the airport, and Anna had tears in her eyes. "Thank you so much for showing me around your amazing city," she told me. "I'll never forget this incredible experience in China. You have to come visit me in Munich soon so I can return the favor!"
I couldn't wait to welcome Anna back to Yulin again someday. Sharing my hometown with a friend from so far away was such a special experience. I have so many wonderful memories of her first China adventure that I'll cherish forever!。
