Hello everyone my name is linmo and major in architecture and civil engineering.Today,my topic is the diet of the south and the north in China.
I don’t know if you have had your breakfast this morning? I want to say sorry to the classmates who didn’t eat breakfast, because the next words I say and the photo I show to you may make you feel hungry, but it doesn’t matter, you should believe that breakfast have be eaten and will lunch be far behind? A few days ago is Chinese traditional solar term the winter solstice. A notice “north dumplings will supply in abundant on the winter solstice.”was posted inside the dining room on the streets. Although I always think the dumplings in the school are not very delicious,I was very happy and feel warm. We can often find Chinese diet culture differences in social networking sites such as RenRen or Microblog the argument about whether the zongzi should be sweet or salty. On the one hand, the southerners says the zongzi should be salty, on the other hand the northerners insist that it is difficult to understand zongzi isn’t sweet. Again for instance, if you are not from the Jiangsu and Zhejiang area, maybe you will marvel at the doubt the fact that someone put these things dough sticks, shrimp, chopped green onion in the bean milk? You will can’t believe people from the Jiangshu and Zhejiang area like such soya-bean milk.Thus we can see, because our country is known for her massive land, the difference of diet culture is obvious. Then let’s see some different points.
1.The north and south dietary differences
Referred to the difference of the north and south, we will first think of the southern staple food is rice, and the northern is flour. The staple food’s difference, causing the entire diet and eating habits huge differences.
2.Dietary distinction
NO.1Fine and rough
View from cuisine. The southern cuisine advantage is obvious. Guangzhou, Sichuan, Hunan Jiangzhe and so on. The north is almost no dependent cuisine. The southern diet emphasis fine, while the northern embodied rough.
NO.2Small fine and large few
From the amount of food, southern majority is small but excellent, the northern is large but thick. Southern all year round supplies vegetables richly. The north people mostly eat cabbage in winter.
NO.3Soup before or after
Different from drink soup: soup served as a dish in south, especially drink more soup in the hot summer weather and generally before meals. In north soup after meals and generally don’t be served as a dish. NO.4Booze and fine discretion
From drinking view: the northerners can drink more than the southerners and they drinking use bowl, big mouth and bite, talking loudly, southerners relatively fine.

The southerners love rice, northerners like noodles,in fact this is because the different structure of agriculture production in south and north.

Southerners like to eat onions, while the northerners like eating garlic.

Southerners eat kimchi, while the northerners eat pickles.
