Unit 8 I’ll help clean up the city parks.
Section A 1a-2c(简案)
教学目标:
1.知识目标:掌握单词词组的拼读,理解词义clean up, hunger, homeless, cheer up
give out,hand out, sign, advertisement, clean-up, put off
2.能力目标:培养学生听的能力和运用词汇的能力。
3.情感目标:学生体验志愿者工作,树立帮助他人,服务他人的情感意识。
教学过程:
Step 1. Lead- in
1. Watch a movie about the Asian Games in Guangzhou and have students say the volunteer
work they could do for it.
2. Present and teach some new words and phrases: clean up, give out/hand out the advertisements, cheer up
Step 2. Presentation
1.Show the pictures about the people who need our help, such as sick kids, the old people
and homeless people. Teach the words: hunger, homeless
2. Have students say who they would like to help and how they can help them.
Step 3. Listening (1b)
1. Listen twice and complete the sentences.
2. Check the answers.
Step 4. Listening (2a-2b)
1. Ask students to present some good ways to plan a City Parks Clean-Up Day. Then teach the phrases: put up the signs, call up the people, hand out the advertisements, write it down
2. Listen twice and check the things the students are going to do.
3. Check the answers.
4. Listen again and fill in the blanks.
Step 5. Match the pictures.
1. Ask students to read the four statements about four persons.
2. Let students help the four persons to find the suitable volunteer work.
3. Match the statements with the pictures and help students say “Ann could clean up the city parks”/…
Step 6. Make a survey!
1. Have students ask two or three classmates for some information and help them find the volunteer work.
Different people do different volunteer work. Today I did a survey about it in my class. Here is the result. Jim likes telling funny stories. He can help cheer up the sick
Step 7. Conclusion and homework。
