The Hazards of MoviegoingI am a movie fanatic迷. My friends count on me to know movie trivia琐碎的细节(who was the pigtailed扎小辫的little in E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial地球上的人? Drew Barrymore) and to remember every big Oscar awarded since I was in grade school 小学(best picture 1994? Forrest Gump). My friends, though, have stopped asking me if I want to go out to the movies. While I love movies as much as ever, the inconvenience of going out, the temptations of the theater, and the behavior of some patrons 顾客are reasons for me to wait and rent for the video. To begin with, I just don’t enjoy the general hassle 麻烦of the evening. Since small movie theaters are a thing of the past, I have to drive for fifteen minutes to get to the nearest multiplex影城. The parking lot is shared with several restaurants and a supermarket, so it’s always jammed. I have to drive around at a snail’s pace until I spot 发现another driver backing out. Then it’s time to stand in an endless line, with the constant threat that tickets for the show I want will sell out. If we do get tickets, the theater will be so crowded that I won’t be able to sit with my friends, or we’ll have to sit in a front row gaping张大嘴up at a giant screen. I have to shell out付a ridiculous amount of money---up to 8 dollars---for a ticket. That entitles me to sit while my shoes seal themselves to a sticky floor coated with spilled soda, bubble gum and crushed Raisinets.Second, the theater offers tempting snacks that I really don’t need. Like most of us, I have to battle an expanding waistline腰围. At home I do pretty well by simply not buying stuff that is bad for me. I can make do with 凑合着吃snacks like celery 芹菜and carrot sticks because there is no ice cream in the freezer冷冻室. Going to the theater, however, is like spending my evening in a Seven-Eleven that’s been equipped with a movie screen and comfortable seats. As I try to persuade my self to just have a diet Coke, the smell of fresh popcorn dripping with butter soon overcomes me. Chocolate bars the size of small automobiles seem to jump into my hands. I risk pulling out my fillings as I chew enormous mouthfuls of Milk Duds. By the time I leave the theater, I feel disgusted with myself. Many of the other patrons are even more of a problem than the [concession stand]小卖部. Little kids race up and down the aisles过道, usually in giggling咯咯地笑packs群. Teenagers try to impress their friends by talking back to the screen, whistling, and making what they consider to be hilarious欢闹的noises. Adults act as if they were at home in their own living room. I was tired of the problems involved in getting to the theater, resisting unhealthy snacks, and dealing with the patrons. The next day, I arranged to have premium 高价的movie channels installed as a part of my cable TV service, and I also got a membership at my local video store. I may now see movies a bit later than other people, but I’ll be more relaxed watching box office hits 票房冠军in the comfort of my own living room. Here is Diane’s first draft:Even though I love movies, my friends have stopped asking me to go. There are just too many problems involved in going to the movies. There are no small theaters anymore, I have to drive fifteen minutes to a big multiplex. Because of a supermarket and restarants, the parking lot is filled. I have to keep driving around to find a space. Then I have to stand in a long line. Hoping that they do not run out of tickets. Finally, I have to pay too much money for a ticket. Putting out that much money, I should not have to deal with a floor that is sticky seems coated with rubber cement. By the end of a movie, my shoes are often sealed to a mix of spilled soda, bubble gum, and other stuff. The theater offers temptations in the form of snacks I really don’t need. Like most of us I have to worry about weight gain. At home I do pretty well by simply watching what I keep in the house and not buying stuff that is bad for me. I can make do with healthy snacks because there is nothing in the house. Going to the theater is like spending my evening in a market 7-Eleven that’s been equiped with a movie screen and there are seats which are comfortable.I try to persuade myself to just have a diet soda. The smell of popcorn soon overcomes me. My friends are as bad as I am. Choclate bars seem to jump into your hands, I am eating enormous mouthfuls of mild duds. By the time I leave the theater I feel sick and tired of myself. Some of the other moviegoers are the worst problem. There are teenagers who try to impress their friends in one way or another. Little kids race up and down the aisles, gigling and laughing. Adults act as if they’re watching the movie at home. They talk loudly about the ages of the stars and give away the plot. Other people are droping popcorn tubs or cups of soda crushed ice and soda on the floor. Write a summary of about 80 words. The “Hawthorne Effect ”, one of the best-known experiments in sociology was conducted before World War II at the Hawthorne plant of Western Electric. The management was eager to improve productivity and wanted to know what kind of incentives would encourage the workers to increase output. The researcher who investigated the problem, Elton Mayo, separated a group of women from the other workers and systematically varied lighting, coffee breaks, lunch hours, methods of payment, and so on. At first, Mayo and his associates were delighted: each new change increased levels of productivity. But when the researchers found that productivity rose no matter which variables were involved, they became suspicious. When the workers were finally returned to their original conditions, their productivity rose yet again! Something was seriously wrong with the researchers ’ theoretical assumptions. Whatever had caused the changes in the dependent variable —productivity —it was not the independent variables the experimenters had introduced, and from this point of view the experiment was a failure. But the reasons for the experiment ’s failure have taught sociologists a great deal. Production rose, it seems, because the women enjoyed all the attention they were getting: they became a tight-knit, cooperative group, they knew what effects the sociologists were trying to produce, and they did their best to please. This phenomenon —the contamination of the experiment by the subjects ’ assumptions about what the sociologist is trying to prove —is still known as the Hawthorne effect. (239 words)Part II. While I love movies as muchas ever, the inconvenience of going out, the temptations of the theater, and the behavior of some patr ons are reas ons for me to wait and rent the video. To beg in with, I just don't enjoy the gen eral hassle (trouble) of the eve ning. Since small local movie theaters are a thing of the past, I have to drive for thirty minutes to get to the nearest multiplex. The parking lot is shared with several restaurantsand a supermarket, so it ' always jammed. I have to drive around at a snail'space 像蜗牛般爬行)until I spot another driver backing out. Then it 'time to stand in an endless line, with the constant threat that tickets for the show I want will sell out. If we do get tickets, the theater will be so crowded that I won 'be able to sit with my friends, or we 'll have to sit in a front row gaping up at a giant screen. I have to shell out (pay) a ridiculous amount of money —up to $8 —for a ticket. That en titles me to sit while my shoes seal themselves to a sticky floor coated with spilled soda, bubble gum, and crushed Raisinets.Second, the theater offers tempting snacks that I really do' need. Like most of us, I have to battle an expa nding waistl ine. At home I do pretty well by simply not buying stuff that is bad for me. I can make do with (设法/勉强应付)snacks like celery (芹菜)and carrot sticks because there is no ice cream in the freezer. Going to the theater, however, is like spending my evening in a Seven-Eleven that's been equipped with a movie screen and comfortable seats. As I try to persuade myself to just have a diet Coke, the smell of fresh popcorn dripping with butter soon overcomes me. Chocolate bars, the size of small automobiles, seem to jump into my han ds. I risk pulling out my fillings (补牙用填料)as I chew enormous mouthfuls of Milk Duds. By the time I leave the theater, I feel disgusted with myself. Many of the other patr ons are eve n more of a problem tha n the con cessi on sta nd (影院里的贩卖处).Little kids race up and down the aisles, usually in giggling packs. Teenagerstry to impress their friends by talking back to (反驳/回嘴)the screen, whistling, and making what they consider to be hilarious (欢闹的)noises. Adults act as if they were at home in their own liv ing room. They comme nt loudly on the ages of the stars and reveal plot twists that are supposed to be a secret until the film 'send. And people of all ages create distract ions. They crin kle (弄皱)candy wrappers, stick gum on their seats, and drop popcor n tubs or cups of crushed ice and soda on the floor. They also cough and burp, squirm (蠕动)endlessly in their seats,(鱼贯而出)for repeated trips to the rest rooms or con cessi on sta nds, and elbow me out of the armrest on either side of my seat. After arriving home from the movies one night, I decided that I was not going to be a moviegoer anymore. I was tired of the problems involved in getting to the theater, resisti ng un healthy sn acks, and deali ng with the patr ons. The n ext day, I arran ged to have premium (额外花费)movie cha nn els in stalled as part of my cable TV service, and I also got a membership at my local video store. I may now see movies a bit latertha n other people, but 'be more relaxed watch ing box office hits in the comfort of my own livi ng room.ME'1门。

My name is Lucy, and I want to tell you all about my amazing adventure of writing an English book. It was so much fun, and I learned a lot along the way!One day, my English teacher, Ms. Johnson, told our class that we would each have the opportunity to write our own English book. I was really excited because I love reading and writing stories. I couldn't wait to get started!First, I had to come up with an idea for my book. I thought and thought, and finally, an idea popped into my head. I decided to write a story about a magical unicorn named Sparkle who goes on a quest to find her lost rainbow. I thought it would be a fun and exciting adventure!Next, I had to plan out my story. I made a list of all the important things that would happen in my book. Sparkle would meet new friends, face challenges, and learn important lessons along the way. I wanted my readers to feel like they were on the adventure with Sparkle.Once I had my plan, I started writing the first chapter. I wanted to grab the reader's attention right away, so I began with a thrilling scene where Sparkle discovers that her rainbow hasgone missing. I tried to use descriptive words to make the story come alive. For example, I wrote, "The sky was grey and dull, and Sparkle's heart sank as she realized her rainbow was no longer there. It was as if all the colors had disappeared from the world."As I continued writing, I made sure to use proper grammar and punctuation. I also tried to vary my sentence structure to make the story more interesting. I didn't want my readers to get bored! After finishing each chapter, I would read it aloud to my family and friends. They gave me feedback and suggestions to make my story even better. I made changes based on their comments and kept on writing.Writing the book wasn't always easy. Sometimes, I would get stuck and not know what to write next. But I didn't give up! I would take a break, go for a walk, or read a book to get inspired. Soon enough, new ideas would come to me, and I would continue writing.Once I finished writing the last chapter, I felt a great sense of accomplishment. I had written my very own English book! But my journey didn't end there. I had to revise and edit my book to make sure it was the best it could be. I checked for spellingmistakes, improved the dialogue, and made sure my story flowed smoothly. Finally, after weeks of hard work, my book was ready to be shared with others. I printed out copies and gave them to my classmates, teacher, and family. They loved reading my story and were amazed at how much effort I had put into it.Writing an English book was such a wonderful experience. It taught me the importance of perseverance, creativity, and attention to detail. I discovered that I have a passion for writing, and I can't wait to start my next writing project. So, if you ever have the chance to write your own book, I encourage you to go for it! It may seem challenging at first, but with determination and a little bit of imagination, you can create something truly amazing. Happy writing!篇3My Adventure with an English BookHi everyone! Movies: serious or entertaining?Nowadays, movies, an extraordinary method of culture as well as a progressing industry, come across their obstacles. With development of ecology, people are becoming more and more available and are willing to put hands on more pleasure. Thus, some of us claim that It’s better to watch movies which are kind of amusement. On the contrary, I still stick to being in favor of serious movies. As and old saying goes, “History is the teacher of human beings.” It is likely to say that serious works, for instance, well-known paintings, books, movies and so on , play an extremely role in human society and history. Take 《Tangshan Earthquake》as an example, based from 1970s to 2000s in China, the movie describes a story of a common family living in Tangshan suffer from a terrible earthquake. When it comes to a difficult choice of saving only one child in two, the mother is nearly fainting. At that time with such quick catastrophe takes place, entirely getting involved in the plot; spectators unconsciously begin to think of a best way to help the poor mother without hesitating. It is obvious that we have experience something which truly happened in the past. Last but not least, we’ve got a better understanding of our parents and realized their selfless love for us.As we all know, humor is of vital importance for our daily lives. Honestly speaking, there are a large number of great movies of entertainment. However, It will be harmful if we pursue entertainment too much and so as the movie crews. According to a wise ancient Chinese sociologist, whose name is Mengke, “A country will survive if keeping worried and concerned and will die if keeping peaceful and happy. ” I have watched a movie about love between a rich lady and a poor man, who succeeds to marry the lady through many times of attempts. Even if it brings me some confidence to difficulties in life in order to make a happy ending, but it was too dramatic. Confidence is not the only thing to solve the problem we are facing. When I am running 1000m, I know it is a long distance for me who haven’t practice for almost 1 year, I will slow down to keep my breath. Therefore, serious movies have far more advantages than entertaining ones. We still need to gain further things for our lives in them.。

In today's rapidly evolving world, technology has become an integral part of our daily lives, including education. The integration of technology in education has brought about significant changes in the way students learn and teachers instruct. In this essay, we will delve into the multifaceted role of technology in modern education, exploring its benefits, challenges, and implications.First and foremost, technology has revolutionized the accessibility of educational resources. With the internet and digital devices, students now have access to a vast array of information at their fingertips. They can engagein self-directed learning, exploring topics beyond the confines of traditional textbooks. Online libraries, educational websites, and open educational resources (OERs) have democratized access to knowledge, breaking down barriers to education for learners worldwide. Moreover, technology has transformed the dynamics of classroom instruction. Interactive whiteboards, educational apps, and multimedia presentations have made learning more engaging and interactive. Teachers can incorporate videos, animations, and simulations to illustrate complex concepts, catering to diverse learning styles. Additionally, collaborative tools and online platforms facilitate communication and collaboration among students, fostering a more participatory learning environment.Furthermore, technology has personalized learning experiences, catering to individual student needs and abilities. Adaptive learning platforms use algorithms to analyze student performance and provide personalized recommendations and feedback. This personalized approach allows students to learn at their own pace, addressingtheir strengths and weaknesses effectively. As a result, students are more motivated and engaged in their learning journey, leading to improved academic outcomes. However, despite its myriad benefits, the integrationof technology in education also poses challenges and concerns. One of the primary concerns is the digital divide, wherein students from disadvantaged backgrounds may lack access to essential technology and internet connectivity. This inequality exacerbates existing disparities in educational attainment, limiting opportunities for marginalized students. Bridging the digital divide requires concerted efforts from policymakers, educators, and stakeholders to ensure equitable access to technology and digital resources for all learners. Moreover, the ubiquitous presence of technology in classrooms raises concerns about its potential distractions and negative impacts on students' cognitive development. Excessive screen time and reliance on digital devices may hinder critical thinking skills, creativity, and face-to-face social interactions. Educators must strike a balance between leveraging technology for educational purposes and promoting healthy screen habits to mitigate these adverse effects. In addition, there are concerns about the quality andreliability of online information, as the internet is rife with misinformation and biased content. Educators play a crucial role in teaching students digital literacy skills, enabling them to critically evaluate sources, discern credible information from misinformation, and navigate the digital landscape responsibly. In conclusion, technology has fundamentally transformed the landscape of education, offering unprecedented opportunities for learning and innovation. From enhanced access to educational resources to personalized learning experiences, technology has the potential to revolutionize education for the better. However, its integration must be accompanied by efforts to address digital inequality, promote responsible use, and ensure the quality and reliability of online information. By harnessing the power of technology responsibly, we can create a more inclusive, engaging, and effective learning environment for all students.。

Find out the point and support in the following paragraph and essay. The Hazards of Movie-goingAlthough I love movies, I’ve found that there are drawbacks to movie-going. One problem is just the inconvenience of it all. To get to the theater, I have to drive for at least thirty minutes or more if traffic is bad. It can take forever to find a parking spot, and then I have to walk across a huge parking lot to the theater. There I encounter long lines, sold-out shows, and ever-increasing prices. And I hate sitting with my feet sticking to the floor because of other people’s spilled snacks. Another problem is my lack of self-control at the theater. I often stuff myself with unhealthy calorie-laden snacks. My choices might include a bucket of popcorn, a box of Milk Duds, a giant soda, or all three. The worst problem is some of the other moviegoers. Kids run up and down the aisle. Teenagers laugh and shout at the screen. People of all ages drop soda cups and popcorn tubs, cough and burp (打嗝), and talk to one another. All in all, I would rather stay home and wait to see the latest movie hits on cable TV in the comfort of my own living room. The Hazards of Movie-goingI am a movie fanatic. My friends count on me to know movie trivia and to remember every big Oscar awarded since I was in grade school. My friends, though, have stopped asking me if I want to go out to the movies. While I love movies as much as ever, the inconvenience of going out, the temptations of the theater, and the behavior of some patrons are reasons for me to wait and rent the video. To begin with, I just don’t enjoy the general hassle (trouble) of the evening. Since small local movie theaters are a thing of the past, I have to drive for thirty minutes to get to the nearest multiplex. The parking lot is shared with several restaurants and a supermarket, so it’s always jammed. I have to drive around at a snail’s pace (像蜗牛般爬行) until I spot another driver backing out. Then it’s time to stand in an endless line, with the constant threat that tickets for the show I want will sell out. If we do get tickets, the theater will be so crowded that I won’t be able to sit with my friends, or we’ll have to sit in a front row gaping up at a giant screen. I have to shell out (pay) a ridiculous amount of money ―up to $8 ―for a ticket. That entitles me to sit while my shoes seal themselves to a sticky floor coated with spilled soda, bubble gum, and crushed Raisinets.Second, the theater offers tempting snacks that I really don’t need. Like most of us, I have to battle an expanding waistline. At home I do pretty well by simply not buying stuff that is bad for me. I can make do with (设法/勉强应付) snacks like celery (芹菜) and carrot sticks because there is no ice cream in the freezer. Going to the theater, however, is like spending my evening in a Seven-Eleven that’s been equipped with a movie screen and comfortable seats. As I try to persuade myself to just have a diet Coke, the smell of fresh popcorn dripping with butter soon overcomes me. Chocolate bars, the size of small automobiles, seem to jump into my hands. I risk pulling out my fillings (补牙用填料) as I chew enormous mouthfuls of Milk Duds. By the time I leave the theater, I feel disgusted with myself. Many of the other patrons are even more of a problem than the concession stand (影院里的贩卖处). Little kids race up and down the aisles, usually in giggling packs. Teenagers try to impress their friends by talking back to (反驳/回嘴) the screen, whistling, and making what they consider to be hilarious (欢闹的) noises. Adults act as if they were at home in their own living room. They comment loudly on the ages of the stars and reveal plot twists that are supposed to be a secret until the film’s end. And people of all ages create distractions. They crinkle (弄皱) candy wrappers, stick gum on their seats, and drop popcorn tubs or cups of crushed ice and soda on the floor. They also cough and burp, squirm (蠕动) endlessly in their seats, (鱼贯而出) for repeated trips to the rest rooms or concession stands, and elbow me out of the armrest on either side of my seat. After arriving home from the movies one night, I decided that I was not going to be a moviegoer anymore. I was tired of the problems involved in getting to the theater, resisting unhealthy snacks, and dealing with the patrons. The next day, I arranged to have premium (额外花费) movie channels installed as part of my cable TV service, and I also got a membership at my local video store. I may now see movies a bit laterthan other people, but I’ll be more relaxed watching box office hits in the comfort of my own living room.。
