Be aware of mental health
A: Hey, good morning! What a nice day!
B: Yeah, morning!
A: Are you doing morning exercise these days? I’ve seen you on the playground several days while I’m going to have breakfast. Y ou get very early in the morning, aren’t you?
B: Y es, I have been building up my health since this winter came. Y ou see, the final examination is just at the corner, and I don’t want to catch a cold before it.
A: Well, what do you think of physical health and mental health? Which of them, do you think, plays a more important role in your life?
B: Ok, in my view, the physical health is of greater significance. Given that I couldn’t be physically health, I will not able to do the best in my study and life. It’s terrible!
A: But how can you be physically healthy if you are not mentally healthy in the first place? Y ou may come across some situations; let me show you an example.
Situation
C: Mom, I’m home! Has dinner finished yet? I’m too hungry to wait a moment!
D: Come on, honey! Y ou have to have dinner quickly, so that you won’t

C: And the piano lesson in the evening, right? Mom, I haven’t forgotten this, can I eat now?
D: Oh, yes, of course you can. And, well, I’ve heard that CET-4(College English Test Band 4) is coming soon, have you got fully prepared for this exam? It’s very important; you have to pass it at the first time in order to make more time for your CET-6.
C: I know, I know! I have been doing papers for the exam since I came to school this term. At the same time, I’ve done a lot of work to improve my English skills to live up to you, however, I feel very hard to achieve your goals. I feel, sometimes, very anxiety, and afraid that I couldn’t do well, which might lead to your embarrassment.
D: I’m sorry, honey, I just want to give you all I can afford to help you have a better future. I don’t know that you are under too much pressure…C: Mom, I do believe you love me, but please don’t push me too hard, I can’t bear that, and I even couldn’t have a good sleep these days.
D: So, that’s why you are in low spirit this week. Y our father and I didn’t mean to give you so much pressure; we hope you could enjoy your life everyday. I’m so sorry about that honey.
A: Y ou see, if you don’t pay enough attention to your mental health, you will have many difficulty in doing other things.
B: Well, what should we do if we are in the situation like this?
A: Let’s have a look at what psychologists suggest.
E: As we all know, the causes of mental health problems often vary a lot from one case to another. In today’s society, a good number of people are suffering from heavy pressure. Others lack communication skills. In addition, most people are ignorant of psychological knowledge about how to keep mentally fit. We should be always alarmed and aware of it, because mental problem grows in your mind over time, symptoms may be over paranoid, anxiety, crying because of no reason and so on. Therefore it’s important to know this invisible disease and take a good care of your own mental health before it gets worse. Don’t leave it to the last minute when noting could be done to improve it.。
