1.The definition and importance of effective presentations
1.1 What is an academic presentaion? Academic presentation is a prepared and formal talk given by a speaker inpublic. It is a powerful way to transmit your message to an audience in a clear and structured way within a time limit. There is no doubt that any people whether a postgraduate student at university, an employee or a lay person, will do a presentation in public sooner or later. g. Pay attention to all details. Make sure you have the right location (school, hotel, room & time). Make sure you know how to get to where you are speaking. Ask how large an audience you will be speaking to. Make sure you bring all your visual aids and plenty of handouts. Arrive early so you can check out where you will be speaking and make any last minute adjustments.

Do speak loudly, clearly, confidently and positively. Do keep eye contact with the audience . Do smile. Do avoid technical jargon unless you’re sure it is familiar to the audience. Do repeat where necessary to highlight your strong points. Do give a strong ending by summarizing your best points.
