Task 1
If you had to volunteer for a project, which one would you choose? Cleaning up the city, creating bicycle trails, or planting trees? Use details and explanations in your response. I would choose to plant trees if given above opportunities. First of all, trees and plants are the reason why we have oxygen to breath in the first place. For example, when traveling to a rural area, we can notice how the air is much cleaner outside of the city. This is because there is more vegetation to provide us will clean, life-giving air. Second, not only humans need trees to survive, animals do too. Certain species of animals use trees as their homes and as a source of food. When we cut down trees these animals are left without shelter and food and if we continue to do this these animals may become extinct.
Task 2
When preparing for exams, some students prefer to study by themselves, others prefer to study with a group. Which method do you prefer? Give examples and details in your explanation.I prefer individual study when preparing for exams for the following reasons. First, individual study is much more effective than group study. For example, I can skip contents that I’m familiar with, or spend as much time as I need on the things I don’t quite und erstand. On the other hand, I don't like doing group study much, because we need time to gather up. It takes time for transportation too. There is a huge chance that the discussion will soon get off the track. People joke around a lot when they get to know each other and become
friends.

Reading: stimulus diffusion，指两种不同文化相遇，把其中一些根据自身文化的要求改造并利用。

Listening:教授提到了north russia人们驯养驯鹿。

5000年前north russia遇到south russia的养马的文化，north russia觉得很好也想这样，但是north russia太冷不适宜养马所以失败了，于是就加以更改开始驯养他们以前打猎吃肉的reindeer用来骑行。
