When in Rome, do as the Romans do. This is a common saying that means when you are in a different place, you should follow the customs and traditions of that place. In other words, you should adapt to the local way of life.
For example, when I first moved to China, I quickly realized that the traffic rules and driving habits were very different from those in my home country. In China, people often honk their horns and change lanes frequently, which can be quite chaotic for someone used to more orderly driving. However, I soon learned that this was just the way things were done in China, and I had to adapt to the local driving style in order to navigate the roads safely.
Similarly, when I visited Rome, I found that the city's narrow, winding streets and bustling piazzas were quite different from the wide, grid-like layout of many American
cities. I had to learn to navigate the city's maze-like streets and embrace the lively, vibrant atmosphere of the city. I also had to adjust to the local dining customs,
such as eating a late dinner and enjoying a leisurely meal with friends and family.
In both of these examples, I had to learn to "do as the Romans do" in order to fully experience and appreciate the local culture. This meant adapting to different traffic patterns, embracing new ways of navigating the city, and adjusting to different dining customs.
