American freedom

If Americans had to pick one aspect of their country that they are most proud of, over 90 percent would choose freedom. What’s the reason? What aspect in china are people most proud of? How does that quality affect life here?
As far as I am concerned, the reason why Americans are most proud of their freedom is as follows:
First of all, freedom is the foundation stone of the country. That is, the country was founded by the concept,” freedom”. To get rid of the British, Americans got united, and fought for freedom for the first time. A brand new country was built up, for the sake of freedom. Meanwhile, the traditional American values, such as equality, self-reliance, and hard-work, rely on this concept as well.
Secondly, freedom is the principle Americans obey anytime they are doing things. They encourage kids to do anything they want in class and allow a large extent of diversity.
Thirdly, freedom is what makes America different from any other country over the world, at least American people think so and they consider it their duty to construct a society with freedom.
And when it comes to china, I have to mention the long history and traditional culture. China, as one of the oldest ancient civilizations, has a long history and rich culture. We have the lunar festivals which reflect our long history, and the government has attached much importance to it.
Many customs reflect this quality a lot, such as eating dumplings at the spring festival, riddle solving at the lantern festival and eating moon cakes at mid autumn festival. These customs haven’t fade as time goes by. Chinese people obey tradition a lot. The long history and rich culture also form the Chinese character: reserved, conservative and implicit.
