✧Teaching difficult points: 1.Write the letters Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh and Ii. 2.New words:
elephant goat fire hand insect.
✧Teaching aids: 1.Enlrge and photocopy Drill card mastet 2 (page 44) onto light
card. Cut it up to make a set of drill cards. 2.Teacher, s set of masks of Mocky and Danny.
✧Teaching Procedure:
✧1、Revise the letters Aa , Bb, Cc, Dd. (Let the student say this a few letters
of alphabets what teacher teach how, everybody learns how of.)
✧2、Write the letters Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh and Ii. (Student Book page 20)
✧Say," Watch me write the letter E." Stand with your back to the class. Write
capital letter E in the air, using large arm movements. Ask the children to write the letter in the air with you.
Repeat for the small letter e.
✧Have the children open their books at page 20.Draw their attention to the" Trace
and copy" activity.
✧Have the children trace over half of the capital Es. On the next line, they should
write some capital Es by themselves.
✧Follow, the same procedure for Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh and Ii.
✧Tell the children that they will finish tracing over the letters for homework.
✧ 3.Listen for E, F, G, H and I (Student Book page 20)
Draw the children' s attention to the pictures on the bottom half of the page.
Display your copy of the page. Point to each picture in turn and say the matching word, for example, elephant.
✧Now play the tape. As the children hear each word they should point to its
beginning letter.
✧Without the tape, have the children point to each picture in turn and say the
beginning sound.
✧Have the children trace the letters beside the pictures.
✧4, Uncle Booky, s Blackboard( Student Book page 21)
✧Hold up the This is drill card and read it to the children, pointing to the words
as you read them. Teacher writing on the blackboard sentence construction: "
This is … "
✧Repeat the procedure with the Danny drillcard. Let the group open fire the car
to say the sentence construction.
✧Choose two children to hold up the cards, as they face the class. Make sure they
stand close together and that the cards are in the correct order (This is ---) ✧Hold up your mask of Danny Deer.
✧Read the sentence aloud, touching the words as you say them.
✧Have the children say the words with you as you point to each card.
✧Give another child the Mocky drill card. Have this card take the place of the
Danny card.
✧Hold up your mask of Mocky and repeat the procedure.
✧Then use the drill cards This isn,t and Mocky. Writing on the blackboard sentence
construction" This isn' t Mocky".
✧Choose two different children to hold these cards.
✧Hold up your mask of Danny Deer and read the cards as you point to each one.
Have the children repeat the words as before.
✧Repeat the procedure using the card This is not. Explain that isn,t and is not
mean the same thing.
✧Use different children to hold the cards as you repeat the procedure in a class
drill, using the masks and all possible combinations.
✧Let the student read the sentence construction" This is … ."And" This isn'
t … ."
✧5、Touch and say (Student Book page 21)
✧Have the children practice saying the sentences from the previous activity. Give the command," Open your books." Draw the children, s attention to the bottom part of the page.
Display your copy of the page, and model the first statement.
Explain that when you point to a character. Let the children use different names for the second part of each statement.
If time allows, the children could repeat the activity in pairs or small groups.
Set homework (Student Book page 20)
Remind the class of the work they began earlier, tracing and writing the letters Ee, Ff,Gg,Hh and Ii. For homework they can color the pictures on page 20. Blackboard writing:
