摘要：PURPOSE:To detect an actual backlash quantity by providing a position detecting means which detects the position of a driven body and a backlash arithmetic means which computes time delay. CONSTITUTION:A camera unit equipped with, for example, an automatic focus adjusting device (AF device) 118 detects and converts the movement quantities of a V (zoom) lens 104, a C (focus) lens 105, and a stop 114 into electric signals, and the output signals are sent to the AF device from a V lens encoder 112, a C lens encoder 113, and a stop encoder 114. The AF device 118 composed of a microcomputer has a lens driving control part which drives and controls the motor for lens driving in consideration of the backlash of a lens driving mechanism. Here, the backlash quantity of the zoom lens driving system based upon the measurement result is calculated. Consequently, even if the driving system is put under different conditions owing to variation in the temperature, humidity, source voltage, load, etc., the backlash quantity in the actual driving state of the driven body is obtained.
