定语从句
一、关系词的基本用法
This is the room that/which he visited.
二、只用that 而不用which 的场合
1.先行词前有序数词或形容词最高级修饰时，或先行词本身就是序数词或形容词最高级时。

2.当先行词是不定代词时，如all, little, few, much ,something, anything, everything, none, nothing, no one, some等。

3.先行词被all, every, no, some, any, little, much, last,few, just, one of, the only, the very, the right等修饰时。

4.当先行词既有人又有物时。

5.当主句是以who或which开始的特殊疑问句时。

6.当先行词前有such或the same修饰，先行词和关系代词指同一物时。

7.当有两个定语从句时，其中一个关系代词已用which，另外一个宜用that.
三、只用which而不用that的场合
1.关系代词前有介词时。

2.引导非限制性定语从句时。

3.先行词本身是that时。

4.先行词后有插入语时。

四、只用who不用that的场合
1.先行词是指人的不定代词时，如one，anyone，no one，all,
nobody, anybody, none, those, people等
2.当先行词有较长的后置定语或在被分割的定语从句中时。

3.当先行词是一个限定性的表示人的特定名词时。

五，关系代词as的用法
as多和such, the same 连用，它代替的先行词既可以是人也可以是物。

区分：（1）This is the same pen as I lost yesterday.
(2)This is the same pen that I lost yesterday.
五、as, which 引导非限制性定语从句
1.as: 引导的非限制性定语从句，放在主句前后均可，甚至
可以切割一个主句。

引导的从句表示说话人对话语的看法、态度、解释或评论，译为“正如……”
2.which：引导的非限制性定语从句只能放在主句之后。

引导的从句表示对所述事情的补充说明，表明事物存在的状态或引起的结果，译为“这一点”
eg. 1. As we kown ,smoking is harmful to one’s health.
2. The sun heats the earth,which is very important to us.
3.Einstein, as is well known, is a famous scientist.
4.Such advice as he was given has proved almost worthless.
六、way和time后的定语从句
1.当先行词是way意为“方法，方式”时，引导定语从句的关系词有下列三种形式：
Eg. I don’t understand the way in which/that/不填they worked out the problem.
3.先行词是time时，若time表示“次数”则用that引导，
that可省略。

若表示“一段时间”则用when或at/during+which引导。

Eg. (1) This is the second time (that) the president has visited
the country.
(2)This was at a time when/during which there were no
radios.
在上述两种情况中，that是关系副词而非关系代词，关系代词必须在定语从句中充当成分。

4.注意：当先行词是situation，case，stage，point等表
示抽象地点的名词时，若定语从句中缺少状语，则用关系副词where来引导。
