A university researcher in Beijing posted an open letter online, in which he mentioned that he has not spoken to his parents for 12 years, because, in his opinion, it is his parents that caused his mental（心理）problems.
It is possibly true that a straight-A student（学霸）is easier to get into problems caus ed by over control from their pare than ordinary ones.
Wang Meng, in his thirties, was once a straight-A student, who graduated from Peking University. He didn’t have the basic ability to take care of himself, and could not even break an egg until middle school, though he was the best in all his subjects. While studying in university, he was often laughed a t by his classmates and roommates. He says he has so little self-confidence that he cannot get along with other people, and this only part of his mental problems. According to his letter, his life was always planned and decided by his parents, who are both civil servants （公务员）in a small town in Southwest China’s Sichuan province. Although his parents agree there are some problems with their education, they still take pride in Wang’s wonderful grades.
Wang Meng’s story has draw attention from the whole society to the problem of children’s development. Getting a good grades is not the only purpose of life, and it must not be regarded as the only way to evaluate（评价）the performance of the children.
