Grammar: Using the past
conti nuous Tense
运用过去进行时态
语法简介:过去进行时态
(一)构成
was (were) + 动词-in g构成。
(二)形式
过去进行时的肯定式:
I was working.
You were working.
He/She/It wa s working.
We/You/They were working.
现在进行时的否定式:
I was not working.
You were not working.
He/She/It was not working.
We / You / They were not working
(三)用法:
过去进行时表示过去正在发生或进行着的动作
例如:You were listening to me.
They were learning English.
What were you doing?
He was watching TV .
过去进行时的用法:表示在过去某一时刻或某一时间正在进行的动作。
这一特点的过去时,除了有上下文暗示以外,一般用时间状语来表示。
--When were you doing this time yesterday?
--We were working in class.
He was mending his bike at ten o’clock yesterday.
I was drawing a horse when the teacher came in.
While she w as trying to pass a tr uck before her, she saw another car coming. 如:Mary wrote a letter to her friend last night.
Mary昨晚给她的朋友写了封信。
(信写完了。
)
Mary was writing a letter to her friend last night. Mary昨晚一直在给她的朋友写信。
(信不一定写完。
)
