摘要：PURPOSE:To provide the molding which has excellent water absorptivity, does not change its shape and strength at the time of water absorption and plays the role of a comb or brush by forming the tooth-like matter of a comb or pin-like matter of a brush consisting of a hydrophilic porous body. CONSTITUTION:The hydrophilic porous body refers to the porous body formed by subjecting thermoplastic resin powder to a treatment for hydrophilicity impartation and sintering and molding the powder to a porous body. Polyolefin resins, such as, for example, polyethylene and polypropylene, are preferably used as the thermoplastic resin and these resins are highly resistant to chemicals, do not change dimensionally in spite of water absorption, does not degrade the strength in spite of water absorption, are stably available at a low cost in a large quantity, and have the sufficient strength as the sintered molding. The methods for imparting hydrophilicity to the powder of such resins include various methods, such as method by sulfonation, method of compounding specific surfactants with the resins, method of grafting the hydrophilic monomer on the surface, and a method of providing the hydrophilic layer on the surface. The hydrophilic powder obtd. in such a manner is packed into a metallic mold having the space of, for example, the comb or brush shape and is sintered and molded.
