一、教材分析
（一）教材的地位及作用
1、新目标英语教材概述
5B教材与5A一样，共有十个单元。
其中第一至第四单元和第六至第九单元为新授单元。
每个新授单元都围绕一个话题，结合功能和结构，安排了一系列语言实践活动。
这样设计和安排的目的，是让学生通过体验、实践、参与、合作、交流和探究等方式，学习语言知识、语言技能及学习技巧，完成学习任务；同时使教学过程成为师生之间、学生之间相互交流、相互沟通、相互理解、相互补充的互动过程。
2、单元分析及教材处理
5B的Unit8，这个单元的核心内容是“周末活动”。
本单元和Unit4的Whatdoeshe/sheusuallydoonSundays?He/Sheusually…有一定联系，通过周末活动引出本单元的四会内容和昆虫名称。
涉及的句型有：Howdoyouspendyourweekends?Howdoeshe/shespendhis/herweekends?
（二）教学目标
新课程强调知识与技能、过程与方法、情感态度与价值观三个角度的有机结合，本着这样的认识，我对本课设计了如下教学目标：
1.情感目标：通过活动、游戏学生能产生学习英语的兴趣；学生能敢于、乐于、善于开口讲英语，积极参与交流，树立学好英语的信心。

黄老师一方面通过创设了情景，黄老师复习旧的知识入手，复习三单式，过渡自然，为学生学习新课做很好的铺垫。
比如以How do you spend your weekend? How does he/she spend his/her weekend?为主线，逐渐渗透难点，即第一人称转化为第三人称。
在教的过程中让学生举一反三，如：go skiing/swimming/jumping/dancing/fishing对学生进行发散思维训练。
英语教学除了口头练习，也要注重写的练习。
特别是到了高年级，学习内容更深了，学生一定要听说读写齐头并进，才能够掌握课堂知识，所以本课黄老师设计了几个填空小练习，让学生对第三人称单数的人称变化和助动词的运用能自如的判断和正确的理解，不对的地方一起分析。
