两种rip方式第一类rip方式首先将页面拼成大版再送支rip，这是目前最常用的方式。
优点是：先完成各个页面的排版及补漏白，接着进行各页面拼大版作业，并制作包含opi（开放式印前接口）指令（用于rip时进行高、低分辨率图象的调用）的输出文件，最后将此文档送到rip中进行处理。
这类流程的原因是：凡经过rip处理的文件，容量会变得更大。
处理时，也不适合经网络存取传输，首先拼大版再rip可减少这一问题。
此外，由于各类拼大版软件均是以处理ps文件为主，因此，在进行拼大版作业之前，排版软件就必须将制作好的页面以ps或eps的档案格式进行输出（dk&a公司的imposition属于例外），这是一个费时的工作，同时由于ps文件通常会比应用软件的原有文件大得多，就会花费更多时间处理文件，并需要大容量的硬盘储存空间。
第二类rip方式先rip页面，再拼大版，这适合于包装、标签这类印刷范围。
这一工作流程将最后文件的修改方式加以简化。
若发现某页面中含有一个排印错误，只需在修正错误后，再将这份页面重新rip一次，替换掉原来错误之处即可，这比将整个大版重作rip要省事得多。

热敏打印机工作原理及应用详解热敏打印机原理热敏打印机的工作原理是打印头上安装有半导体加热元件，打印头加热并接触热敏打印纸后就可以打印出需要的图案，其原理与热敏式传真机类似。
图象是通过加热，在膜中产生化学反应而生成的。
这种热敏打印机化学反应是在一定的温度下进行的。
高温会加速这种化学反应。
当温度低于60℃时，纸需要经过相当长，甚至长达几年的时间才能变成深色；而当温度为200℃时，这种反映会在几微秒内完成。
原理热敏打印机的原理是，在淡色材料上（通常是纸）覆上一层透明膜，将膜加热一段时间后变成深色（一般是黑色，也有蓝色）。
图象是通过加热，在膜中产生化学反应而生成的。
这种化学反应是在一定的温度下进行的。

应用热敏打印技术最早使用在传真机上，其基本原理是将打印机接收的数据转换成点阵的信号控制热敏单元的加热，把热敏纸上热敏涂层加热显影。
目前，热敏打印机已在POS终端系统、银行系统、医疗仪器等领域得到广泛应用。
热敏打印机只能使用专用的热敏纸，热敏纸上涂有一层遇热就会产生化学反应而变色的涂层，类似于感光胶片，不过这层涂层是遇热后会变色，利用热敏涂层的这种特性，出现了热敏打印技术。
关键热敏打印技术的关键在于加热元件，热敏打印机芯上有一排微小的半导体元件，这些元件排得很密，从200dpi到600dpi不等，这些元件在通过一定电流是会很快产生高温，当热敏纸得涂层遇到这些元件时，在极短的时间内温度就会升高，热敏纸上得涂层就会发生化学反应，现出颜色。
