STEP 4 Filling in the blanks while reading the passage
Get the stude nts to fill in the bla nks while readi ng the passage.
Ask students to look at Kitty ' s notes and complete as much of the schedule as possible on their own, (Ask the student to find out the information, underline it in the poster and the n use it to fill in the no tes.)
For weak classes, the teacher can also help the students with some questions. (e.g. At 9:00 a.m. where will th ey meet, do you know? If no t, it does n't matter, we will know later.) STEP 5 Listening to the principal ' s speech
Play the tape and let the students listen to the principal ' s s peech twice and at
the same time
stude nts try to complete the no tes in Part A1, Page 50. As stude nts are liste ning
to the tape for a
second time, the teacher can pause to explain where necessary (e.g. Changing room, go to the seats)
Ask the students to check the answers in pairs, and then check the answers in class. Do cha in work--- invite the students to report in whole sentences using the first person.
We will meet at the school gate at 9:00 a.m.
