1.free talk:
T: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to see you again.
Hi!/Hello! *** Nice to meet you again. How are you today?
S1: I'm fine, thank you. And you?
T: I'm very well, thanks.
I'm very happy to make friends with you .
2.warming-up exercises:
It’s cold today. Let's do some exercises, OK?
Listen and do some actions. (sing, dance, jump, swim, run, hop, sleep, write, read, play, listen, look, draw, drive ,wash, stand, sit, walk…)
3.revision
(1).Vt+ing words:
T: Boys and girls, look! What am I doing ? Say out quickly. (singing, dancing, jumping, swimming, running, hopping, sleeping, writing, reading, playing, listening, looking, drawing, driving ,washing, standing, sitting, walking…)
(2).Vt+ing sentence: chain asking and answering
T: What are you doing ?
S1: I am reading a book.(action )What are you doing?
S2: I am playing basketball. What are you doing?
S3:…
4.new materials:
T: Do you want to play mingo game?
Mingo, mingo, 1/2/3…
T: Today we’ll go on learning Lesson 3 What are you doing? (blackboard writing)
Students read for times
(A girl is drawing something, the teacher goes to her and asks)
T: What are you doing ,**?
G: Sorry, I am drawing.
T: What are you drawing ,**?
G: I am drawing a teacher.
T: Really? Who?
G: Look! It’s you!
T: Oh! It looks just like me.
(When the teacher says the last word, she shows the picture up, and repeats the word for times, so that the others can guess the meaning. The teacher writes the sentence on the board, first write “It looks like me.” or give some examples, “It looks like a pig/bird/cat.” After students know the meaning of “look like”, the teacher then adds the word “just” between them, for examples, “It’s just a pig/bird/cat.” )
T: What is Tom doing today? Listen to the tape, please.
Play the tape twice, when students are listening , the teacher begins to draw the simple pictures about the dialogue.
The students read after the tape one sentence by one . The teacher writes the key words of the dialogue on the board.(doing/drawing, drawing/a little girl, who/you/look just like)
The students read the dialogue in two groups accordingly to the key words, one is Lulu, the other is Tom.
Practise the dialogue in pairs freely.
Performing the dialogue in pairs.
T: Can you perform the dialogue by yourselves? Try not to look at the board, use your fingers?
S1performs with the fingers by himself.
Open the books ,turn to P11. All the students read books together. Recite the dialogue.
5.practice
Can you make dialogues with the pictures accordingly to the key words?
Practise in pairs ,change the partners.
6. game: listen and point
Prepare 4 sentence cards, let students read them out ,and then stick them on the board anywhere.
Two students come up and play “listen and point” game.
The 4 sentences are:
What are you doing?
I am drawing.
What are you drawing?
Drawing a little girl.
7.sing a song
T: Listen to a song , guess what song it is .<Two tigers>
Change the song words :
What are you doing?
What are you doing?
I am drawing.
I am drawing.
What are you drawing?
What are you drawing?
Drawing a little girl.
