not only…but also…中的not only不能分开使用，但but also却可以分开使用。

not only 位于句首时，第一个分句中的主语和谓语要部分倒装，常见的这类否定词还有never、little、hardly等。

Not only can he sing English songs, but also he can play the piano. 他不仅能够唱英语歌曲，而且他还可以弹钢琴。

Not only has he entered the college, but also he has got an award. 他不仅上了那所大学，而且还获了奖。

（2）not only…but also…可连接句子的主语、谓语、宾语、表语等成分，它连接两个主语时，谓语动词的数要与邻近的主语保持一致。
