Can you imagine being a billionaire at the age of 21? Entrepreneur (企业家), social media star and model Kylie Jenner has done just that. According to the business magazine Forbes, Ms Jenner has become the world’s youngest self-made billionaire. She is so successful that she became a billionaire two years younger than Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. She made the majority of her fortune from her best-selling cosmetics (化妆品) business Kylie Cosmetics, which she started at the age of 15. She founded and owns the beauty company, which is estimated to be worth around $900 million.
Kylie Jenner was born in August 1997. She got into business at a young age. When she was 14, she created a line of clothing for a fashion brand. A year later, she launched her own cosmetics line called Kylie Lip Kits, which transformed into Kylie Cosmetics. Jenner has been on TV screens since she was 10. Time magazine listed her as one of the most influential teens in the world. Today, Ms Jenner also has successful careers as a model, TV reality show star and social media personality.
When the magazine first reported last summer that Jenner would take over the title, she was met with deb ate from critics who argued over whether her success was “self-made” or merely because of being born into an already famous and wealthy family.
“I can't say I’ve done it by myself. I don’t have any inherited (通过继承得到的) money, but I have had a lot of help an d a huge platform,” Jenner told Forbes when talking about her billionaire status. “I didn't expect anything. I did not foresee the future. But the recognition feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”

C
We've known that sitting for long periods of time every day has countless health consequences, like a higher risk of heart disease. But now a new study has found that sitting is also bad for your brain.
A study published last week, conducted by Dr. Prabha Siddarth at the University of California, showed that sedentary (久坐的)behavior is associated with reduced thickness of the medial temporal lobe (中叶), a brain area that is critical to learning and memory.
The researchers asked a group of 35 healthy people, aged 45 to 70. about their activity levels and the average number of hours each day spent sitting and then scanned their brains. They found that the subjects who reported sitting for longer periods had the thinnest medial temporal lobes. It means that the more time you spend in a chair the worse it is for your brain health, resulting in possible damage to learning and memory.
What is also interesting is that this study did not find a significant association between the level of physical activity and thickness of this brain area, suggesting that exercise, even severe exercise, may not be enough to protect you from the harmful effects of sitting.
It then surprisingly turned out that you don't even have to move much to improve cognition
(认知);just standing will do the trick. For example, two groups of subjects were asked to complete a test while either sitting or standing. Participants are presented with conflicting stimuli (刺激),like the word "green" in blue ink, and asked to name the color. Subjects thinking on their feet beat those who sat by a 32-milisecond(毫秒)margin.
The cognitive effects of severe physical exercise are well known. But the possibility that standing more and sitting less improves brain health could lower the bar for everyone.
I know, this all runs counter to received ideas about deep thought, from our grade school teachers, who told us to sit down and focus, to Rodin's famous "Thinker," seated with chin on hand.
They were wrong. You can now all stand up.
28.What can we infer from Paragraphs 3 and 4?
A. Severe exercise can lessen the damage of sitting.
B. Sedentary behavior will possibly damage our brain.
C. Severe exercise can greatly improve our brain health.
D. Brain health has nothing to do with sedentary behavior.
29. What does the underlined word “margin” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A. blank.
B. edge.
C.decrease.
D. difference.
30. What is the received idea about deep thought?
A. Sitting is better when we think.
B. We should stand while thinking.
C. Exercise more can improve our cognition.
D. Sitting more is good for our mental health.
31. What does the the text mainly tell us?
A. People tend to sit while thinking
B. Standing more can make our brain healthier
C. Physical exercise can improve our brain health
D. Sedentary behavior leads to countless health problems
D
Validation (认可)from someone else is something most humans look for. We want them to say how nice our material things are and compliment how we dress, look and act etc. But what on earth is validation when you can’t even give it to yourself? Why you look for so much love and prosperity from others when the best person to do so is you?
We let society and the opinions of others tell us what is good for us and what is not good for us. We get so caught up in what’s “in” right now that we force ourselves to become obsessed(痴迷) with making others happy and obsessed with the “likes” and “comments” from others that most of us don’t even know ou tside of social media.
If you can’t look at yourself and feel enough, then what makes you think someone else will think you are enough? No man/woman will ever love you the way you can love yourself. If you don't start to love yourself and your body, people will tell you what to wear, what surgeries to have and what they think you look good like. And because there’s no self-love,no self-validation, you give in. You believe your beauty depends on someone else's opinion. You allow your body to be treated in ways that only someone lucky and special should treat it.
Self-care and love is the only way you'll truly believe you are enough. Your glowing smile and skin are meant to shine through your personal happiness. Don’t hide behind the validation of someo ne who doesn’t really care about anyone but themselves. Beauty and love start from the
inside first. And you’re the only one who truly knows what you’re feeling on the inside. Validate yourself because you are more than enough!
32.What’s the author’s purpo se of writing the first paragraph?
A.To provide guidance on how to dress.
B.To offer some advice on thinking of others.
C.To introduce some facts on people's opinions.
D.To introduce the topic of the text to the readers.
33.What does the second paragraph talk about?
A.Harm from social media in modern society.
B.The disadvantages of the opinions of others.
C.Some phenomena about validation.
D.The characteristics of self-validation.
34.What does the author advise us to do?
A.Make our beloved ones happy.
B.Believe in our families.
C.Show beauty from the outside.
D.Love ourselves and practice self-care.
35.What is the best title for the text?
A.You Are More Than Enough
B.Go Your Own Way
C.Validation From Others Counts
D.More Self-love, More Success

gentleman standing on a street corner. He held a sign in his hand asking for money.
I went home that day and wrote him a note saying I was grateful for what I had in my life and that I wanted to share some of it with him. In the note I wrote: Hi, I am Larissa.
