Here are some of the movies that inspire you to travel。
The Lord of the Rings
The story is about Frodo, his friends and their adventurous journey through Middle Earth。
Filmed in about 150 locations all over New Zealand, this traveling movie shows its beauty。
From the rolling hills of Matamata to the volcanic region of Mt Ruapehu, this is the best movie to see New Zealand. Also, this travel movie might have the only distinction of being inspired by travel too. The director of the movie Peter Jackson first read the novel on a train going from Wellington to Auckland when he was just seventeen.
Indiana Jones。
The Complete Adventure Collection
Indiana Jones and travel are inseparable。
Everyone remembers the red line on the world map that shows up on screen when he flies。
The Egypt scenes in Raiders of the Lost Ark were filmed in Tunisia。
Temple of doom was filmed mostly in Sri Lanka and Macau。
The Last Crusade was filmed in Italy,Spain and Jordan including an excellent view of Petra. Unlike the other,Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was filmed almost entirely in the United States. However, their shots of Iguazu Falls are amazing。
Romancing the Stone and jewel of the Nile
This movie series focuses on a romance writer Joan and her adventures with a soldier of fortune named Jack。
In Romancing the stone Joan goes to Colombia to save her sister who was kidnapped(绑架). In the sequel Joan goes to the fictional kingdom of Kadir set somewhere in the
Middle East. Romancing the stone's scenes were shot mostly in Mexico。
For Jewel of the Nile, the scenes were mostly shot in France and Morocco.
The Talented Mr Ripley
Tom Ripley is a working class young man. Through a case of mistaken identity, he is asked to go to Italy to convince a wealthy businessman's son to come home. This travel movie starts in New York and heads to the fictional resort of Mongibello. The last section of the movie is filmed mostly in Rome and Naples. The locations are beautiful. We all have our ways of marking time。
As a photographer, my life is measured from one story to the next. My oldest son was born in the middle of a long story about the Endangered Species Act。
My daughter came along with a pack of gray wolves。
Twenty stories later, though, it’s the story in Alaska that I’ll remember best. It was the story about the loss of wilderness-and the story during which my wife Kathy got cancer。
That's the one that made time stand still。
I stopped taking pictures on the day when she found that tumor。
Cruelly, it was Thanksgiving. By Christmas, she had become very weak。
Some days she was so sick she couldn’t watch TV。
Early examination saves time。
But ours was not early. By the time you can feel it yourself,it’s often bigger than the doctor want it to be.
Cancer is a thief。
It steals time. Our days are already short with worry。
Then comes this terrible disease, unfair as storm at harvest time。
But cancer also has the power to change us, for good. We learn to simplify, enjoying what we have instead of feeling sorry for what we don't. Cancer even made me a better father。
My work had made me a stranger
to my three kids. But now I pay attention to what really matters. This is not a race。
This is a new way of life and new way of seeing, all from the cancer。
In the end each of us has so little time。
We have less of it than we can possibly im agine. And even thought it turns out that Kathy’s cancer has not spread, and her prognosis(诊断)is good, we try to make it all count now, enjoying every part of every day。
I’ve picked up my camera again. I watch the sky, searching for beautiful light。
When winter storms come, Kathy and I gather our children and take the time to catch snowflakes (雪花)on our tongues。
After all,this is good。
This is we're living for。
24.As a photographer, the author used to ________.
A.leave his daughter with a pack of gray wolves
B.express his love for his family in a special way
C.miss a great many important historical moments
D.devote much more to his career than his family
25.Why did the author decide to stop taking pictures?
A.To cure his own disease。
B.To spend more time with his wife.
C.To seek a better position。
D.To leave the wildness alone.
26.What is the biggest change the cancer has brought to the author?
A.He treasured every bit of time with his family。
B.He has become a stranger to his children。
C.He takes his work more seriously。
D.He focuses more on medical care。
27.The author and his family catch snowflakes on their tongues probably because ________.
A.the snowflakes taste very good
B.snowflakes are what they feed on
C.they regard that as a way to enjoy life
D.there is beautiful light in the snowflakes

The human body is designed to move。
But modern lifestyles and office jobs rarely give us the chance to move around. As we know,we’re while we're eating; we sit in the car and we sit while we watch TV。
And many of us sit for many hours at work.
New research shows that sitting less than three hours a day might extend your life by two years。
Peter Katzmarzyk,a scientist at the University of Louisiana in the southern United States, says that sitting is ubiquitous in our lives, meaning it is something we do all the time, everywhere.
However,Mr。
Katzmarzyk says that does not mean you can sit for the rest of your waking hours。
He also says you may exercise often,“We can’t throw away physical activity。
It’s extremely important。
We have 60 years of research showing us that。
”
Mr.Katzmarzyk and his colleagues are part of a new generation of researchers studying how sitting all day affects length of life。
“Studies that have assessed the relationship between sitting and mortality(死亡率)or television viewing and mortality are very rare。
There’s only been a few of them, actually five or six now,in the last four or five years。
” They found that cutting television time to less than two hours a day could add one-point four years to life。
Luckily, change is already coming to some offices, especially in the design of desks。
A “standing desk” lets people stand while they work。
Another new design is called the “treadmill desk。
” A treadmi ll is an exercise machine that lets you walk in one place.Even some U.S.schools are beginning to experiment with desks that are part bicycle to keep children moving。
That’s one of the strategies that many companies are using now。
Mr.Katzmarzyk also says studying this problem has inspired his team to make a few changes in their own lives。
28.The underlined word “ubiquitous” is closest in meaning to________.
A.dangerous B.awkward
C.comfortable D.common
29. Which view agrees with the opinion of Mr.Katzmarzyk?
A。
Sitting too long may help increase one's life。
B.Exercise is important and don't sit too long.
C.Watching TV is bad,but can broaden one's horizons。
D.Stopping watching TV is a necessary but hard task.
30。
What does Mr.Katzmarzyk think of his study in Paragraph 4?
A.It's a relatively new area of study.
B.It's a hot subject studied by experts。
C.It's a study that begins too late。
D.It’s not ignored by many experts。
31. Why are the desks of all kinds designed for those who sit more?
A.To give them more comfort.
B.To improve their work efficiency。
C.To offer them the chance to exercise。
D.To seek pleasure while working.
D
Two of the hardest things to accomplish in this world are to acquire wealth by honest effort and, having gained it,to learn how to use it properly。
Recently I walked into the locker room of a rather well known golf club after finishing a round。
It was in the late afternoon and most of the members had left for their homes。
But a half-dozen or so men past middle age were still seated at tables talking aimlessly and drinking more than was good for them。
These same men can be found there day after day, and, strangely enough, each one of these men had been a man of affairs and wealth, successful in business and respected in the community if material prosperity were the chief necessity for happiness,
then each one should have been happy。
Yet,it seemed to me, something very important was missing, else—there would not have been the constant effort to escape the realities of life through scotch and soda。
They knew, each one of them, that their productivity had ceased(停止).When a fruit tree ceases to bear its fruit,it is dying。
And it is even so with man。
What is the answer to a long and happy existence in this world of ours?I think I found it long ago in a passage from the book of Genesis which caught my eye while I was looking through my Bible。
The words were few,but they became memorably impressed on my mind。
“In__the__sweat__of__the__face__shall__you__eat__the__bread.”
To me,that has been a challenge from my earliest recollections (memories)。
In fact,the battle of life,of existence,is a challenge to everyone。
The immortal words of St。
Paul, too, have been and always will be a great inspiration to me。
At the end of the road I want to be able to feel that I have fought a good fight,I have finished the course,I have kept the faith。
32。
Which of the following is indicated in the first paragraph?
A。
Wealth results from honest effort。
B.The men seated at tables in the locker room are lost in the significance of life。
C.For some people, no way can be found to escape the realities of life other than scotch and soda。
D.The men acquire wealth by planting fruit trees。
33。
The underlined sentence “In the sweat of the face shall you eat the bread" means “________”.
A. Bread tastes delicious when sweat pours off your face
B.No pains, no gains
C.Failure is the mother of success
D.Bread comes from the sweat on your face
34. We learn from the passage that the author________.
A.was a wealthy person in the community
B.held a positive attitude towards an active life
C.was fond of associating with celebrities (名人)
D.kept a secret of the reason why he was so impressed
35。
What is implied in the passage by the writer?
A.To use wealth properly, eat, drink and be merry.
B.Where there is a will,there is a way。
C.As life is but like a dream,a man is like a fruit tree。
D.If you cease to struggle, you cease to live。
