Our Class is Organizing a Graduation Party
Yay, it's almost the end of the school year! That means summer vacation is coming and we'll get a huge break from schoolwork. But before we can fully enjoy our summer freedom, there's one really important event - our 5th grade graduation party!
I'm so excited for the graduation party. It's going to be a super fun way to celebrate finishing elementary school before we all go our separate ways to different middle schools next year. I've been looking forward to this party for months!
Our teacher Mrs. Roberts announced a few weeks ago that our class would be organizing the entire graduation party ourselves. At first, I was a little nervous about having that huge responsibility. Planning a whole party for our entire 5th grade class of over 100 students? That's a lot of work! But Mrs. Roberts reassured us that as long as we all work together as a team, we can definitely pull it off.
The first thing we had to do was form party planning committees. There's the food committee to plan the menu and arrange catering, the decorations committee to decorate the cafeteria where the party will be held, the entertainment committee to organize fun activities and games, and a few other smaller committees too. I really wanted to be on the entertainment committee because I just love games and fun activities. Luckily, I got picked for that one!
Our entertainment committee had our first meeting last week to start planning everything out. We brainstormed a ton of ideas for activities we could have at the party - things like musical chairs, freeze dance competitions, scavenger hunts around the school, talent shows where people can show off special skills...the possibilities are endless! We finally decided to do a big game night with different game stations set up around the cafeteria. We'll have video game tournaments, board game areas, even an area with hoops and balls for games like basketball or four square.
I'm especially excited because I got put in charge of the video game tournament part! I'll get to organize tournaments for games like Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, Just Dance and more. We're going to have a bunch of Nintendo Switches set up and
kids can sign up for the different game tourneys. The winners will even get prizes!
Of course, no party is complete without food, right? The food committee has been hard at work securing a catering company to provide snacks and drinks for the party. Rumor has it they're

Our Class Graduation Party!
Oh boy, I'm so excited! Our teacher Mrs. Smith just told us that we get to plan our very own graduation party before we leave elementary school and move on to middle school. This is going to be the best day ever!
First up, we need to pick a theme for the party. Tommy raised his hand and shouted "Superheroes!" I actually kind of liked that idea - we could all dress up like our favorite superheroes and Mrs. Smith could decorate the classroom to look like a comic book city. But then Samantha spoke up and said she thought a Hawaiian Luau theme would be way more fun.
I do love the beach, so that did sound pretty good to me too. We're going to take a vote on it next class.
Next we need to plan out the food and snacks. Yum, yum! For the superhero theme, we could have Batman logo cookies and Spider-Man pudding cups. Or if we do the luau, we could have pizza bread shaped like pineapples and tropical fruit skewers. Either way, I'm gonna eat a ton! Hopefully they'll have veggie trays too since my mom doesn't let me have too many sweets. Parties always have the best food.
We're also going to need to decorate the classroom. If we go with superheroes, we could make life-size cut-outs of all our favorite characters and hang them on the walls. Maybe we could even make a photobooth area where we can take pictures pretending to fight off villains! For a luau theme, we could make tiki statues and palm trees out of construction paper and put up twinkle lights everywhere. Decorations are my favorite part of parties.
Of course, we'll need music too! For superheroes, we could play that classic rock music that's always in superhero movies. But if it's a luau, we'd put on beachy reggae tunes and maybe even learn a hula dance! Dancing at parties is so much fun, I can't wait.
Mrs. Smith also said we can plan some fun games and activities. Superhero games could include throwing softballs
through painted cardboard boxes like villains, or a strong man competition where we try to pull a truck pull toy the farthest. Hawaiian games might have limbo contests or hula hoop competitions. Games are always crazy at our parties.
Finally, we'll need to make sure we have prizes and awards for the games. Maybe for superheroes we could give away comic books or action figures, or for a luau pass out leis or grass skirts! We definitely need a prize for best costume too. I'm going to beg my mom to make me an amazing outfit so I can win.
Man, this is going to be the best fifth grade graduation party ever! I can't wait to celebrate with all my friends one last time before we go our separate ways. I've had so many fun memories at this elementary school. Like that time we went on a field trip to the Science Museum and I threw up from riding the earthquake simulator too many times. Or when we did our egg drop contest in science class and Johnny's egg was the only one that didn't crack! This party will be the perfect way to cap off our last year here.
Maybe if I'm really lucky, my crush Jessica will finally notice me at the party. I've had a huge crush on her since kindergarten, but I've never been able to tell her since I get too nervous. She probably doesn't even know I exist. But we'd make a pretty cute
couple, her in a pink superhero outfit and me in a dashing cape and mask! Or maybe we could match in fun Hawaiian shirts and leis. Who knows, maybe the party will be magical enough that I'll find the courage to finally talk to her. This is my last chance before we go to different middle schools, so wish me luck!
I just know this graduation party is going to be awesome. We've all been here together for six whole years, learning and growing up side by side. We all can't wait to move on to bigger and better things in middle school, but we're all going to miss this place so much too. One last hurrah with all my elementary school friends to make amazing memories we'll never forget - that's exactly what a fifth grade graduation should be! Thanks Mrs. Smith for letting us plan the party and make it extra special. This is going to be the best day ever, I just know it!

Our Class is Having an English Graduation Party!
Hi, my name is Tommy and I'm in the 5th grade. Our teacher, Mrs. Smith, just told us that our class is going to organize an English graduation party to celebrate finishing elementary school! I'm so excited.
Mrs. Smith said the party will be all in English. That means the games, food, decorations, everything will be English-themed. She wants us to practice our English skills one last time before we go to middle school.
The first thing we had to do was form committees to plan different parts of the party. I really wanted to be on the food committee because I love snacks! My best friend Michael is on it too.
On the food committee, we have to decide what kinds of English foods and drinks to serve at the party. Michael's older sister is taking French in middle school, so she told us about some tasty English treats like scones, meat pies, and trifles. Those sound delicious!
We're also going to have fish and chips, which is like French fries but with fish filets instead of burgers. For drinks, we'll do English classics like tea and lemonade. Michael and I volunteered our moms to bake some festive English desserts too.
Another committee is working on entertainment and games. Alicia is the leader of that group. She's really good at putting on plays and skits, so I know they'll come up with awesome English games for us to play.
I heard they might do an English trivia contest, or maybe a spelling bee using big vocabulary words. Alicia loves acting, so I bet they'll perform aScene from Shakespeare or something! I hope I get picked to be in it.
Decorations is going to be a huge part of the party too. Jayden's uncle is a professional artist, so he is leading that committee. They're planning to make the

Our Big English Graduation Party!
Hi! My name is Emma and I'm in the 5th grade. Our teacher Mrs. Jones just told our class that we're going to have a big English graduation party before we leave for middle school! I'm so excited and can't wait to tell you all about it.
First, we have to plan everything out as a class. Mrs. Jones put us into groups to decide on different parts of the party. My best friend Lucy and I are on the decorations team. We get to pick out colors, make banners and signs, blow up balloons, and decorate the classroom however we want! Lucy and I already decided we're going to use light blue and yellow as the main colors since those are really pretty and sunny.
Some of the other teams are working on food, games, music, and performances. The food team seems like it has the hardest job since they need to make sure there are snacks and drinks for everyone without any allergies. I'm glad I'm not on that team! The games team is coming up with fun activities we can all do together like trivia contests and relays. The music team is making a mix of everyone's favorite songs to play during the party. And the performances team is putting together skits, dances, and other talents our classmates can show off on a little stage.
In English class, we're all working on speeches to give at the graduation party. Mrs. Jones said we each have to write about our favorite English lessons, books, or memories over the past few years. Then we'll get dressed up and take turns giving our speeches during the ceremony part of the party. I'm really nervous about giving a speech in front of everyone, but I know it will be good practice for middle school next year.
We're also making graduation caps that we can all decorate however we want. Mrs. Jones brought in these plain caps and supplies like colored paper, stickers, glitter, and markers. I'm going to put polka dots all over mine and spell out my name in big letters. I can't wait to see how creative everyone gets with theirs!
Another thing I'm really looking forward to is the video that Mrs. Jones' daughter is making of photos from over the years. She's putting together all our school pictures from kindergarten through 5th grade. It's going to be so funny to see how much we've all changed! I used to have these crazy pigtails and missing teeth. I bet a lot of us won't even recognize ourselves.
The big day is coming up in just a few weeks. Our whole class has been working so hard to get everything ready. We make new decorations and props during our free times at school. We've been practicing our speeches during English period. And we take a little break each day to finish up our graduation caps.
Mom and Dad are so excited to come to the big party too. All our families are invited to join and see the ceremony part where we give our speeches. Then we'll have the fun part with music, games, food, and performances to celebrate all we've learned!
I just can't wait for our English graduation party! It's going to be the perfect way to say goodbye to elementary school. We've worked so hard over the past few years learning English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. Now we get to show off everything we've accomplished and have a big bash before moving onto middle school. This party will definitely be one of
my favorite memories from 5th grade. I'm going to miss this class and our teacher Mrs. Jones so much, but I know I'll be ready for the next steps thanks to all my amazing English lessons. Bring on the party!

Our Class is Having a Big Goodbye Party!
Hey friends! I'm so excited because our teacher Mrs. Wilson told us that we get to plan a huge party for our whole class before we graduate from elementary school and go to middle school next year. Can you believe we're almost done with 5th grade? It feels like just yesterday we were the little kids on the playground, and now we're the oldest students in the entire school. Crazy!
Mrs. Wilson said we have to form different committees to organize everything for the party. That means we'll split into smaller groups and each group will be in charge of one part of the party planning. I really want to be on the food committee because I love snacks more than anything! My mom makes the best cupcakes and I bet she would help me bake a ton for the party if I'm in charge of food. Yum!
Some of the other committees are decorations, games, music, and clean-up duty. I'm not sure which one I want to be a part of yet. The decorations team sounds kind of fun because we get to make the room look all festive and colorful. But the games team also seems awesome - we need to plan activities to keep everyone entertained and having a blast. Music is cool too since we'll get to pick the playlist. And I guess someone has to be on clean-up crew although that doesn't sound like much fun at all. Yuck!
Mrs. Wilson said the budget for our party is 200 which is a lot of money! We need to be really careful about how we spend it. Maybe we can ask our parents to donate some things to save money. Like my mom can bake cupcakes for free instead of us having to pay a bakery. And we can ask parents to bring bags of chips, boxes of juice, plates, napkins, and things like that. That way we only need to use the 200 to pay for decorations, bigger snacks, and anything else we can't get for free.
I'm really hoping we can have a bouncy castle at the party! Those things are so incredibly fun and it would be awesome to have one inside our classroom or maybe out on the playground. We could take turns going inside and bouncing around like crazy. Just imagining how much fun that would be is making me smile
ear to ear. A bouncy castle would definitely make our goodbye party a huge hit!
Another idea I have is passing out disposable cameras to everyone and having a photo area set up with funny backgrounds and props. We could take goofy pictures together to remember our 5th grade class forever! Maybe we can even get a parent volunteer to be a photographer and take official class portraits of each student. I'd love to have a framed photo of me and my best friends Jada and Miguel to put on my bedroom dresser.
For games, we absolutely need to play musical chairs. That game is an all-time classic that everyone loves. We can push all the desks towards the walls and use the opening area for a big circle of chairs. Whenever the music stops, everyone scrambles for a seat and the person left standing is out. Last one in a chair wins! It's so silly and fun.
We could also have a talent show where each student gets 5 minutes to perform. Some kids might sing, some might dance, some might do magic tricks or play an instrument. Talent shows are always entertaining because you never know what amazing skills your friends have been hiding. I'm definitely going to enter because I can juggle soccer balls like a pro! Maybe I'll win a prize.
No matter what we end up planning, I already know our graduation party is going to be an epic event that none of us will ever forget. I can picture it now - the room decorated in our school's blue and yellow colors, a huge table filled with yummy treats, music blasting, games happening everywhere you look, and all of us hanging out together one last time before summer break and middle school begin. We've spent the past 6 years together in elementary school and have made so many incredible memories. This goodbye party will be the perfect way to celebrate our long-lasting friendships and amazing accomplishments!
I'll never forget the day we all met on the first day of kindergarten. We were just little 5-year-olds who could barely read or write. But now look at us - we're reading chapter books, doing complex math, learning about world history and science, and preparing to become middle schoolers! We've all grown up so much and learned so many interesting things.
Mrs. Wilson always reminds us that we should be proud of ourselves for working hard and doing our best every single day in school. She says the skills and knowledge we've gained over the past 6 years will make us very successful students in middle
school and high school. She believes in us and knows we can accomplish whatever we set our minds to. I think she's right!
So let's give it our all while planning this party, 5th graders! We only have one chance to make it unforgettable. Let's go out with a bang and make sure our graduation celebration is the hugest, funnest, craziest, silliest party this school has ever seen. We deserve an amazing time after working so incredibly hard. I can't wait to get started!

Our Class Graduation Party!
Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm in 5th grade at Oakwood Elementary School. I'm so excited because our class is going to have a huge graduation party before we all go to middle school next year! We've been planning it for weeks and I can't wait to tell you all about it.
It all started a couple months ago when our teacher, Mrs. Parker, asked us what we wanted to do to celebrate moving on to 6th grade. At first, people just shouted out ideas across the classroom - have a pizza party, go on a field trip, get t-shirts made. But then Aiden, who is like the Class President even though we don't actually vote for one, said we should make it a
big deal since it's our graduation from elementary school. That's when everyone got really excited about the idea of throwing an actual party instead of just having a little celebration.
Mrs. Parker divided us into committees to plan everything. The food committee had to decide the menu and organize making or buying all the food. The decorations committee was in charge of decorating the cafeteria where we're having the party. There was also a games committee to plan activities and contests, an entertainment committee for music and fun stuff like that, and even a cleanup committee (though nobody really wanted to be on that one!).
On the food committee, we had a huge debate about what kinds of food to serve. Miguel wanted to just order a bunch of pizzas, but Sophia thought we should have fancier foods since it's a party, like little sandwiches and veggie trays. I thought we could do both - have some pizza but also some nicer foods too. Chloe had the idea of making a candy bar with all our favorite candies, which everyone loved. We decided to make it a potluck where everyone brings a dish so we'd have a variety. We made a list of suggested foods people could sign up to bring.
The decorations committee had so many amazing ideas! Hannah suggested we all make paper chains out of red and
yellow construction paper to hang up since those are our school colors. Tyler thought we could make centerpieces for all the tables out of balloons. And Jake's mom works at a party store, so he said he could get discount decorations from there. They decided to make the theme "Recipients of Awesomeness" because we're all awesome students graduating from 5th grade. So cool!
I was on the games committee, which was a lot of fun to plan. We're going to have a trivia contest about our years at Oakwood Elementary, with little prizes for the winners. Jacob came up with a hilarious idea for a mummy wrapping contest where we split into teams and race to wrap up one teammate in toilet paper to make them look like a mummy. We planned some other classic games too like an obstacle course, a cake walk, and musical chairs. It's going to be so much fun!
The entertainment committee worked hard to put together an amazing playlist of songs for the party. Mia is super into pop music so she picked a lot of current hits. Jacob loves classic rock so he got some songs from bands like Queen and The Beatles on there too. And Miles is a huge rap fan so he contributed some kid-friendly rap and hip hop songs. They also got an awesome
karaoke machine that we can all use to show off our singing talents (or lack thereof!).
It took a lot of hard work and time from everyone, but we finally got everything planned for the biggest and best 5th grade graduation party ever! Our parents are going to help out a ton - setting up, bringing food, running some of the activities, and of course cleaning up at the end. I'm a little nervous but mostly just crazy excited. We're all going to have so much fun celebrating five awesome years together before we head our separate ways to junior high next year. This party is going to be one to remember fur sure!
We've been counting down the days, and the party is this Friday after school. I better get my outfit picked out and mentally prepare for the mummy wrapping contest. Thanks for reading about how my class planned our epic graduation party! It's going to be a total blast.。
