tpo46口语范文答案
Task 1:
Describe a person who has had an important influence on your life. Explain how this person has influenced you.
Well, I gotta say my high school English teacher, Mr. Smith, has had a huge influence on my life.
First of all, he was just so passionate about teaching English. His classes were never boring. He would act out all the stories in the textbooks. Like when we were reading a Shakespeare play, he would put on this old fashioned hat and start reciting the lines with this really dramatic voice. It made me see that learning English could be super fun, not just about memorizing grammar rules.
Secondly, he really believed in me. I used to be really shy about speaking English in public. But he always encouraged me to participate in English speech contests. He would spend extra time after class with me, helping me with my pronunciation and giving me tips on how to make my speech more engaging. Because of his trust in me, I gradually became more confident. And now, I'm not afraid to speak up in English at all, whether it's in a classroom or in an international environment.
So, Mr. Smith has influenced me in terms of making English learning enjoyable and building my self confidence.
Task 2:
Some people like to study in public places where there are other people around. Others prefer to study in places where there are few or no people around. Which kind of place do you prefer? Explain why.
I'm definitely a person who likes to study in places where there are few or no people around.
You know, when I study, I need total concentration. If I'm in a public place like a coffee shop or a library with lots of people, there are just too many distractions. I might hear people chatting about their latest gossip or the noise of cups clinking. It's like my brain is constantly being pulled away from my study materials.
On the other hand, when I'm in a quiet place, like my own study room at home, it's just me and my books. I can focus all my energy on what I'm studying. I can even talk to myself or make funny faces while I'm trying to understand a difficult concept without anyone seeing me and thinking I'm crazy. Also, I can adjust the environment exactly how I like it. I can turn on some soft classical music if I want, or keep it completely silent. It's just a more comfortable and efficient way for me to study.
Task 3:
The university is planning to build a new cafeteria on campus. The man in the conversation agrees with the plan.
Reason 1:
The current cafeterias are always overcrowded. For example, during lunchtime, it's really hard to find a table. Students have to wait in long lines just to get their food. And sometimes, by the time they get their food, there's no place to sit and eat. The new cafeteria would help to relieve this overcrowding situation. There would be more space for students to have their meals comfortably.
Reason 2:
The new cafeteria could offer different kinds of food. The existing cafeterias have a pretty limited menu. If the new cafeteria is built, it could introduce some new and more diverse food options. Maybe some international cuisines like Thai food or Mexican food. This would give students more choices and make the campus dining experience more interesting.
Task 4:
The reading passage talks about the concept of "information overload" which means that people are exposed to too much information, and it can
have negative effects.
The professor gives an example of her own experience to illustrate this. She was doing research on a certain historical event. When she started her research, she went online and searched for information. She was immediately flooded with a huge amount of information. There were thousands of websites, articles, and blogs related to the event.
She first tried to read as much as she could. But she soon realized
that she was getting confused. Some of the information was contradictory. For example, some sources said that the event happened in one year, while others said it was a different year. And she also couldn't remember all the details because there was just too much information.
As a result, she had to be more selective in her research. She started
to focus on reliable sources like academic journals and well known
historical books. This example shows how information overload can make it difficult for people to process and use information effectively.
Task 5:
The woman's problem is that she has a part time job at a library, but she also wants to attend a series of lectures on her favorite subject, which are held at the same time as her work shifts.
Solution 1:
She could talk to her supervisor at the library. Maybe her supervisor would be understanding and allow her to change her work schedule. For example, she could work on different days or at different times so that she could attend the lectures. But the downside is that the library might be short staffed during that time, and her supervisor might not be willing to make the change.
Solution 2:
She could ask a friend who also studies the same subject to record the lectures for her. Then she could listen to the recordings later. However, the problem with this solution is that she might miss out on the opportunity to interact with the lecturer and other students during the lecture. She won't be able to ask questions immediately or participate in discussions.
Task 6:
The lecture is about two ways that animals use camouflage to protect themselves.
Way 1: Blending in with the environment.
Some animals have colors and patterns on their bodies that make them blend in with their surroundings. For example, the Arctic hare. In the Arctic, it's mostly white. The white fur of the Arctic hare helps it blend in with the snow covered environment. This way, predators like wolves or
foxes have a hard time seeing it. They might just pass by without noticing the hare because it looks like part of the snowy landscape.
Way 2: Mimicking other things.
There are animals that mimic other objects or animals to avoid being detected. Take the stick insect for example. It looks exactly like a twig. It has a long, thin body with branches like legs. When it stays still among the real twigs, it's almost impossible for predators to tell it apart from an actual twig. So, by mimicking something else, it can hide from its enemies and stay safe.。
