I.Teaching Contents

2.Sentence: When is the sports meet? It’s on April 4th.
II. Teaching Purpose
1. Knowledge: Enable the students to catch the new words: first(1st) second(2nd) third(3rd) fourth(4th)
fifth(5th).
2. Ability: Enable the students to ask and answer: ---- When is the sports meet?
---- It’s on April 4th.
3. Feeling:
(1)Raise the students' interest to learn English. (2)Encourage the students to have good cooperation with each other and learn from each other.
III.Teaching Focus
1. Words: first(1st) second(2nd) third(3rd) fourth(4th) fifth(5th).
2. Sentence: When is the sports meet? It’s on April 4th.

Teaching pictures, tape, some activities pictures, CAI etc.
V.Teaching procedures
(TIPS: Before class, we will devide into 3 groups. And during our class, we will have a compare to win the stars. and at the end of the class, we will consum the stars. and the team that win the most stars will get the prize! Agree? let’s go!)
Step1: Free talk:
Good afternoon, boys and girls!
T: Hello, boys and girls. Nice to meet you.

Step2: Leading:
1. we have a few fun things recently, Yes? Right? Ss:----
2.What are they? Ss: ----
Yes, we had a school trip last Saturday.
We had sports meet.
We will have a school art show this month. Do you think so? And in this month, we will have some special days, Do you want to know what they are? Ss: ---- Step3: Sing Songs:
So let’s review some knowledge first! Ok? Look at the video, and let’s sing a song of twelve months together. ok? sing loudly follow the video.
Step4: Boys and girls, do you know when are these holidays? Look at the PPT. (Show the ppt) and ask Ss: When is Teacher’s Day/China’s National Day/Tree Planting Day/Mother’s Day?

Step5:Presentation:
1.And do you know when is April Fool’s Day? (explain this phrase when necessary and leading the Ss to answer)
Y es, it’s in April. It’s on April 1st.(Show ppt and teach the word ): April 1st –first.
Write the words on blackboard and the
abbreviation.
Pay attention to the pronunciation of the letters [ir: ɜː(r) ]. And show the example words : g ir l b ir d .
2. Teacher ask Ss : When is swimming contest? Ss:……Read after Teacher and repeat it. And stress the prep. Word : on.
3.Show other holidays and practice the sentence structure. When is …….? It’s on ……
4.Good to know:
1).What’s this? Ss:……
Teacher: Yes, it’s a sun, and what day is it?
Ss: It’s Sunday!
2).T: Great! Who knows: Sunday is the _(which)__day in
a week? Check the Ss answers. (leading them to answer: first)
3). And ask another question : how does the word : Sunday come from ? Read the tips quickly!
5. Sunday is the first day of a week, and then Monday is the (which) day in a week. Yes, it’s second! Wonderful! Read after the word and teach the word: second! Pay attention to the pronunciation: [e/c] and the words: d e sk c lock.
6. Show canlenda and teach the word: April 2nd, and ask Q: When is the maths test? S s answer: It’s on April 2nd.
7. Use the same way to teach the other words: third—April 3rd. fourth—April 4th. Fifth—April 5th.
8. Listen to the tape twice and read after the video of let’s learn.
Step6.Practice
1.Teacher make a example with a S for class. Then have Ss practice the key sentences in pair or group.
And then check the effect by drive train, ask one by one.
2.Play the games:
1> Game 1:Do you like play game? OK, let’s play a game. Boys read out the ordinal number and girls read out the activities words. Read the words loudly that you see as quickly as you can , Ready, Go!
2>Game 2: Another game , Rules: First, close your eyes, and Then put the hat of the words, After then stand quickly in correct Order Line. and report your order: I am the first! I am the second….
3> Now let’s have a practice in pairs. Use the
sentences : When is ……? It’s on……
Then check the effect and give them prize of stars. Step7. Consolidation and extension
1.Do you grasp the knowledge really? Let’s have a test. Look at these excercises. Think carefully and then give the right answer quickly, and then you can get a prize! DO IT quickly!
2.Now exercise 2. Fill in the blanks. Do it quickly.
3.Yes, Mother's Day is on the second Sunday in May. and the date is so important to us. We must say thanks to our mother. Because we love her very much.
And can you buy gifts for your mother? What do you want to buy for her in shop? Let’s go and see! Check Ss to say the sentence: I will buy_______on the ______floor.

课后反思
在本节课的教学设计中,我能够结合教材和学生的特点,依据新课程标准的精神,从激发学生的学习兴趣、培养良好的学习习惯、丰富生活经验和提高认知水平出发,科学安排教学内容,合理设计教学任务,开展形式多样的教学活动,让学生亲身体验,大胆实践,积极参与,共同合作与交流,帮助学生在任务性的教学途径下发展综合语言运用能力,使语言学习的过程成为学生形成积极的情感态度、主动思维和大胆实践、提高跨文化意识和形成自主学习能力的过程。
在教学过程中,我根据学生的特点和教材的难易程度,分阶段,逐层递进,由易到难地设计了形式多样的教学活动。
在热身阶段,我用chant,激发学生的学习兴趣,然后通过图片引出本课单词、句型,又通过多个游戏,让学生在活动中积极参与,大胆实践,巩固所学内容,收到了良好的效果,在语言操练足够的条件
下,我在发展提高阶段设计、安排了拓展性的写作活动。
但是如何把课堂的时空更好的交给学生,处理好教师控制、主导和教师指导的关系,充分发掘学生的主体性,在今后的教学中,我还有待于进一步的探索。
