Low-carbon Life

Recently, low-carbon becomes a frequently used and fashionable word which gets the greatest concern in the world.Low-carbon life means a kind of lifestyle in which people do their best to reduce energy consumption and carbon greenhouse gas emissions.

It is of vital importance for the whole world to practice the low-carbon lifestyle. Firstly, our natural resources and energy are limited; therefore, it is absolutely necessary for us to save and protect them. Secondly, in order to protect our environment from serious greenhouse effect, we need a low-carbon emission. It is low-carbon life that enables our next generations to live a better and superior life.

What we should bear in mind is that the earth is common home. Thus, every one is well advised to practice this lifestyle and there are

several ways for us to do this. Firstly, every one is expected to cultivate their awareness of saving energy. Then, we are also hoped to help our families and friends to live a low-carbon life. Only by doing so can we hope to create a world where all humans enjoy a clean and tidy environment.

On Talent-search Shows

Recently, there has been a craze in talent shows all over the country, which has aroused great concern. Various talent-search shows, such as “Super Girl” and “Happy Boy”, have emerged one after another.Those TV shows attract a large number of audience and some youngsters even give up their studies to attend these shows.

It is no easy task to offer the reasons for this phenomenon which involves more than one complicated factor.First of all, the high social position and high income of today’s stars play a critical role. Nowadays movie stars and singers are paid much attention to by the whole society. Everyday, they are reported by the media and chased by millions of fans. Talent-search shows provide a big stage and a short cut for young

people who dream of being famous and rich stars overnight. Moreover, for the audience, watching talent-search shows is not only a great way to relax, but also an inspiration when they see ordinary people like themselves become famous and win cash prizes. Finally, TV stations are keen on holding the talent-search shows because these shows have helped the channels in generating huge incomes.

As to me, it is no doubt that the talent-search shows have some advantages. They do enrich people’s life and offer more opportunities to people who have a strong interest in art. But talent-search shows have disadvantages and sometimes the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. For one thing, these shows breed restlessness and induce young people to hunt after fame at whatever cost. For another, the talent shows can subvert the youngsters’ values. If they treat attending the shows as a shortcut to the success, they may despise the way of achieving success by hard work. Therefore, I think talent-search shows should not be forbidden but they need to be directed in a right way.
