Somebody has to design and code all those games with computers and specialprogramming. Creating such amazing games takes a lot of work and super smart people who really understand technology.Our homes are full of other tech gadgets as well. My mom has a smartphone that lets her take pictures, play music, and even do video calls with my grandparents who live far away. My dad uses a laptop for his work. And we have things like the thermostat to control the temperature, and all those blinking little lights on the cable box and WiFi router.At school, there's tech everywhere too! Our classroom has a big screen called an interactive whiteboard. My teacher can use it to show us educational videos and pictures. She can even write on it with her special pens. We sometimes get to go to the computer lab and use the desktop computers for coding lessons and research projects.Outside of home and school, technology is there as well. My parents' car has a screen that shows maps and directions to helpus get around. It's called a GPS navigation system. There are also traffic lights, streetlights, and even systems that change the timing of the lights based on traffic!While we're driving around town, you see technology left and right. Stores have security cameras and cash registers with computers inside them. Restaurants have those iPad menus nowfor ordering. And everywhere you go, you see people on their smartphones, tablets, and laptops.Speaking of going places, we couldn't really travel easily without technology. And airplanes even have WiFi so you can use your devices!Technology lets us communicate across the world too. We can make phone calls, send emails and texts, or even video chat with people on the other side of the planet! Social media like Instagram and TikTok lets us instantly share pics and videos with our friends and family members no matter where they are.Technology does so much incredible stuff to help us, entertain us, keep us safe, and stay connected. But the tech driving everything is actually really complicated science andmath that I'm still learning about. Electrical currents, circuits, codes, programs, algorithms...it's like a whole other language!The adults working on new technologies and innovations are super geniuses. I'm really interested in pursing a career in technology when I grow up, maybe as a programmer,engineer, or robotics specialist.
