本人从事HR工作,之前对招聘工作有所接触,目前不负责招聘。
我有过面试别人的经验,同样,也有被别人面试的经历。
现在一家500强美国公司工作,其间接到不少猎头推荐去欧美公司面试的通知,也去见了一些。
这个不是我要讲的重点,我只想和大家分享一点关于去外企面试如何应对英语测试的部分,希望对一些朋友有帮助。
所谓的外资公司,一般说,我分它们几类:
500强的欧美公司
500强其他国家公司
500强以外的欧美公司
500强以外的其他国家公司
假外资公司
关于假外资公司,我想说的是,那些台资、港资,甚至贴牌骗人的外资。
台湾和香港本来就是中国的,外什么外?加上它们的文化实在不可恭维,所以我是不理这些公司的。
就英文测试来说,500强欧美公司和500强以外的欧美公司最看重,毕竟工作中要用到,有一些还是工作语言,不测试不行。
500强内外的其他国家公司,很多时候对英语也有要求,象日本、韩国的公司,只不过日本人和韩国人的英语口语,实在比较寒。
好了,说清楚了我去面试的企业,如果有朋友希望进入这些公司的,对方又有英语要求,可以参考一下我的一些经历和体会。
不见得全面,不过也是实际经验,还有教训。
进入主题前,我再罗嗦两句。
我最初毕业工作不是在外企,后来想进外资公司的时候,很费周折。
首先,没有外资经验,如何争取外资面试机会?这个可能是很多朋友关心的问题,我多说两句别嫌烦。
外资企业一般只录用两种人:一种是名牌大学的优秀毕业生(优秀的标准参见各企业标准),一种是之前在外企工作的人(最好是同行)。
如果你没有上述2个条件,一般是很难进入他们的候选,除非一些其他努力和条件。
我是国内3流本科毕业,又没有外资的经验,可想当初进入外资公司的困难。
好几次争取到了面试的机会,比如华纳和箭牌,对方对我的工作经验、业务知识很满意,英语测试也OK,但是最后拒绝我的理由都是一样——没有外资工作经验。
我现在加入的这家500强,一个美国公司,是通过朋友推荐和自己努力最终成功入职的。
所以这里可以提供的一个途径,就是朋友推荐。
外资公司一般有规定,内部推荐,成功入职并工作一段时间,推荐人还会有奖金。
如果你认识外资公司的人,有他的推荐会事半功倍,当然,前提是你的条件要符合应聘职位的要求。
另外一个推荐途径,就是和外资公司有接触的人,比如客户,比如猎头公司、顾问公司等。
这些人会及时提供相关的招聘信息,有时候可以起到推荐的作用,当然,成功的要素还是你自己的实力。
很多人看见外资公司在网上的招聘信息,投递了很多次简历也没有回复,这个很正常。
我在做招聘的时候,就部门秘书的职位,从中专到硕士,简历多到来不及看,很多时候筛选就很简单:看学历和经验匹配度。
学历过高过低的都会直接OVER,工作经历不沾边的也OVER,剩下的再看其他要求以及约见。
所以靠简历,尤其是一份工作经历不符合的简历,很难有机会得到面试机会,因为求职的人实在太多,不符合条件的人也多,被第一关DELETE掉的,甚至有误杀的。

没人因为你的求职信写得天花乱坠、声泪俱下就被你打动的,要记得,企业招聘的是实用的人。
那些靠一封声情并茂的求职信获得某个机会的故事,相对于一些民营私营老板,强调个性和变化性的企业存在几率比较大。
更何况很多求职信写得平庸罗嗦,甚至干扰视线,不写更好。
二、英文求职信,想露一手,反露马脚。
除非英语专业毕业,大部分中国学生学了十年英语,写出来的文章都有很多问题,很多低级错误,我也是。
所以不要自己写英文求职信,要写,也拜托找个英语水平够好的朋友帮忙,别把自己的弱点暴露出来,画蛇添足。
我有个朋友,在私营公司做过进出口文员,后来去软件公司做程序,然后现在想去NIKE 公司应聘销售。
不说他的工作经历和经验是否可以得到这个职位,就他写的求职信,我看了之后也是汗了半天。
他用很多种复杂的结构和语法,说明他多么不喜欢之前的行业和工作。
我和他沟通了一下,他说他用的是美国最新的口语,而且表达了自己的真实想法,外企要看人品的,他不愿意做“修饰”。
我只能告诉他,佩服他的勇气和诚实,但是只有祝福他继续寻找下一个机会。
求职信,只有在手写的邮寄简历前,还可以起到很不错的效果,前提你的书法不错,而且写的内容也很真诚、很有针对性。
电子简历里面的求职信,不要以为随便写写比不写好,那你错了,宁可你没写,也比套用模版强。
企业都会先看你的任职资格是否符合,有余力再看看求职信,锦上添花是可以的,但别指望靠它弥补你的其他不足。
二、口语测试
口语测试都是老套路,不管是用人单位还是猎头,问你的都是常规问题,比如自我介绍,比如个性,比如职业规划,比如你的收获和体会。
很多人可能会对口语测试紧张,不知道说什么,其实就象中文面试一样,你只要事先做个准备就好了。
比如自我介绍,这个是基本都会问的,但是也不要随便回答。
自己事先写好,背熟,面试时候自然一点流利地讲出来,至少可以留下一半的好印象。
对于平时不用英语的人来说,如果有机会去外企面试,至少前一天要把自己的英文简历阅读几遍,找找感觉,象自我介绍这样的准备材料,也要熟读。
不然真正面试的时候,一张嘴结结巴巴,单词发音也不准,句子也不连贯,那就功亏一篑了。
这里想说的是,除非你应聘翻译,或者一些中高层职位需要和外国人做工作交流的,一
般的英语口语测试都很容易通过,不用紧张。
不过HR都不喜欢这样的人:简历上写的是“英语听说读写流利”,结果面试的时候结结巴巴说不出来的。
还有一些人一个劲强调,自己大学英语很不错,就是工作了没机会接触,现在生疏了,只有给自己一段时间,英语一定没问题。
与其说这些话的,早干什么了?早做准备,面试的时候才会一鼓作气、一气呵成,求职应聘好公司好职位的人多了,凭什么就给你锻炼的机会呢?
所以,不要奢望狗屎运经常会降临,要真想实现自己的目标,必要的付出还是要做的。
英语口语,不是非要参加什么培训班或者背诵多少新概念才行,要应付外企的面试,有本不错的《面试英语》,其实也足够了。
另外现在网上有一对一练习口语的电话英语角,可以和英语高手一对一的练习来提高口语能力.
另外有一个快速提高面试口语的办法,就是请留意那些外企招聘广告里,关于该职位的英语描述和任职资格要求。
这些也就是所谓很多人头疼和陌生的专业词汇,你只要多收集几家就会发现,大同小异,个别词换种表达,内容都差不多。
你的英文简历也可以参照这个要求去写,把相关经验和工作业绩补充进去就很完美了,面试时候再按照这个说出来,把握更大。
基本上,外资公司在招聘广告里,用中文刊登的职位对英语要求都不高,反之则需要英语水平稍高。
对于那些自己感兴趣的公司和职位,多收集一些英文的招聘要求,对提高应聘英语水平帮助很大。
