论犯罪与刑罚英语作文初中Crime and Punishment。

Crime is a serious problem in modern society. Criminals commit all kinds of crimes, from petty theft to murder. In order to maintain law and order, it is necessary to punish those who break the law. This is where the concept of punishment comes in.Punishment is a form of penalty that is imposed on criminals who have committed a crime. The purpose of punishment is to deter criminals from committing crimes in the future. Punishment can take many forms, including imprisonment, fines, community service, and even the death penalty.Imprisonment is one of the most common forms of punishment. Criminals who are found guilty of committing a crime are sent to prison for a period of time. During this time, they are separated from society and are unable tocommit further crimes. However, some people argue that imprisonment is not an effective form of punishment, as it does not address the root causes of criminal behavior.Fines are another form of punishment. Criminals are required to pay a sum of money as a penalty for their crime. This form of punishment is often used for minor offenses, such as traffic violations. However, fines may not be effective for more serious crimes, as some criminals may have the means to pay the fine without being deterred from committing further crimes.Community service is a form of punishment that requires criminals to perform a certain amount of work for thebenefit of the community. This form of punishment is often used for minor offenses, and can be an effective way of rehabilitating criminals and reintegrating them into society. The death penalty is the most severe form of punishment. Criminals who are found guilty of committing certain crimes, such as murder, may be sentenced to death. However, the useof the death penalty is controversial, with some people arguing that it is inhumane and does not deter criminals from committing crimes. In conclusion, punishment is an important aspect of the criminal justice system. It is necessary to punish those who break the law in order to maintain law and order in society. However, it is important to ensure that the punishment fits the crime, and that it is effective in deterring criminals from committing further offenses.。

雅思英语作文 crime 有些人认为每种犯罪都应该有固定的惩罚,一些人觉得犯罪的动机应该被考虑进去

Some people believe that there should be fixed punishments for each type of crime. Others however argue that the circumstances of an individual crime and the motivation for committing it should always be taken into account when deciding on the punishment.Sample Answer 1:Some people argue whether criminals should always be subject to fixed punishment for certain crimes or situations for committing the crime should be taken into account before inflicting punishment. This essay will examine both sides of the argument, but I am personally inclined to the latter view that suggests consideringcircumstances of a crime while sentencing someone. On the one hand, criminal activities have reduced significantly over the centuries in the history of humankind. Fixed punishments like the death penalty, life imprisonment for drug trafficking deter an offender from such heinous crimes. The ruthlessness of such harsh punishments ensured safety and security in society. For instance, according to a publication on criminal justice from the C.I.A, many middle countries have been consistently ranking near top regarding achieving a low-crime index due totheir aggressive law for enforcing fixed punishments for designated crimes. Nevertheless, the main objective of the law and order is to protect the innocents and punish the wrongdoers. The fixed punishment often contradicts with the fundamental objective of civil society. On the other hand, persecuting a convict violate human rights; often without considering the aspects leading to such crime. Consider Saudi Arabia, ranked as the country with the lowest crime index in the world. The state’s implementation of a strict fundamentalistapproach to persecute criminals regardless of the circumstances of the crime has drawn flak from many human rights organisations. Amnesty International reported that fair trials are prohibited to criminals even if they are wrongly convicted. Finally, in my opinion, a convicted person should be given punishment only based on the circumstances and severity of the crime. For example, if someone murders in the act of self-defence, the verdict given should not amount to life-sentence.In conclusion, I believe that both groups of the argument, for and against the fixed punishments, have their reasons. However, I think that penalties should be decided according to variant circumstances of criminals and keeping in mind that the aim of punishment to prevent further crimes to happen.Sample Answer 2:Have you ever thought about being a judge? There may be various situations in our daily lives in which our judgments are needed to be expressed. But is it really as simple as the situations we encounter every day when it comes to judging serious crimes? For a long time, it has been a controversial issue whetherthere must be fixed punishments for any kind of crime or the incentive is an influential factor that is crucial to be considered. I personally approve of the latter belief since there are a lot of crimes in which the criminal is not really guilty. On the one hand, a group of people dogmatically believe the punishment for any crime ought to be fixed regardless of the crime’s motive. They state that if felons know there is severe punishment even for small crimes, they are hindered and will never attempt to commit a crime. Therefore, the violence and crime rates decline considerably and thus a better societywe will have. For instance, in Saudi Arabia, the punishment for robbery is of one the robber’s hands being cut irrespective of what he has stolen, an apple or a car.On the other hand, the other group of society argues that where the felony stems from must be investigated and the motivation should be taken into consideration when sentencing a criminal. As a justification, they cite that there are situations in which the crime has not been done deliberately or the culprit is not the real wrongdoer. In particular, in an involuntary homicide, the killer might be the victim since itmight have self-defence or a robbery for feeding a family differs from robbing for profit. In this case, the judge is who can decide the best penalty considering every aspect and condition of crime perpetration. On the whole, even though fixed punishments can be extremely beneficial in the decrease of crime rate and may culminate in a safer society, the justice system should be flexible enough towards certain felonies and consider the crime’s rationale and conditions for giving the most appropriate verdict.Sample Answer 3:In recent years, there has been a rise in the number of crimes being committed. Many people are of the opinion that these wrong-doings should be classified categorically. However, I believe that each offence should be looked upon in a subjective manner, taking into account the nature and severity of these unlawful activities. Giving a fixed punishment would definitely make court proceedings a lot quicker. This is because the judges would not need to decide what type of punishment criminals would deserve as it would have been already decided for them. However, this is an unfair practice as some of the criminals may notdeserve the punishments given to them. For example, a person robbing a convenient store will not deserve the same punishment as a person robbing a bank because the degree of the crime is not as severe as the latter. On the other hand, deciding a crime according to the situation and motive of it makes perfect sense as it would ensure that the lawbreaker is given a fair trial and the right punishment is handed down to him. For instance, a mentally ill person who commits a murder would be judged accordingly, instead of being grouped into the same category of all the other type of murderers. This, therefore, will make the trial balance andfair. In conclusion, my opinion is that the punishment for a crime should be made up based on all the factors leading up to the unlawful action rather than providing judgement based on the classification of crimes into types.Sample Answer 4:In recent days, there is an ongoing debate on how to give appropriate punishment toward people who accused with criminal activities. Some state that they should be punished by looking at the type of crime they have committed, while some people believe that the circumstance and reason of committing a crime should begiven a high priority while accusing someone of the crime. However, I personally argue that these ideas are definitely true and through this essay, I will support these views with some considerations below. Nowadays, the fact shows that there are some cases given injustice punishment toward a criminal. For instance, a grandmother stole three chocolates last year and she had to spend times in prison for several years. In contrast of the corruptors stealing plenty of money from society but punished only a year and completed by good service from the police. In short, the law of government should review and rearrange the constitution whendeciding on the punishment. They should think of the punishment types as the consideration of the punishment decision. Turning to the other arguments, the government also should pay attention to the reason why people have committed criminalities. For example, there are some cases which show the most reason for committing a crime are economic problems. A lot of people have no job thus they prefer to do misconduct to fulfil their daily need. The most obvious solution is by taking the motivation of criminals as an essential consideration in giving punishment. As a result, I truly believe that theseideas are an essential consideration that can encounter social justice.Sample Answer 5:To date, we have thousands of laws, regulations, general rules enumerated to ensure our society functions as it should be. However, these restrictions could never be enough to cover every circumstance that happened around-the-clock. Therefore, should the law be our gospel for us to follow strictly without deviation? Or should we perceive each case as an individual and take multiple factors into considerations? My opinion is definitely on thelatter. For people who value law as an impregnable principle, the law itself would surpass human judgments. Humanity could be a defection when coming to talk about righteousness. Sentiments and bias might get in the way and eventually lead to miscalculation and unjustness, resulting in man-made errors, a horrendous failure for justice. Despite the fact that human error is almost inevitable, people still believe taking certain factors into consideration is genuinely legitimate. Laws are considered the most basic requirement of human morality, making it the reason why this issue has become controversial. People might have broken the lawyet the motivation behind such a deed could alter our interpretation to it. The main character in the Opera “Les miserable” stole a loaf of bread because he was almost starved to death;a young heroin addict pickpocketed a wallet to cater to his cravings. These two cases above are both thieveries, yet the morality standard was hardly even. Our cognition helps us reconsider and adjust our decisions and prevent us from nonchalantly putting the same amount of punishment on these two men without pondering over some more congruous solution. The law could be the guidance, a foundation of our ethical standards. Nevertheless, we stillhave to make room for flexibilities and consider every crime as an individual.Sample Answer 6:There is a controversial fact that whether there should be fixed punishments for crimes or the factors that might lead the crime should be taken into consideration, while penalties for crimes are detected. In my opinion, to decide justice both of them are required. The circumstances brought about the crime should play a role to slight the penalty or deteriorate the punishment. Some people believe that each crime should be performed as a specific punishment that serves to implement justice in a society. In this practice, each person who did the same crime is punished as a standard punishment. For instance, the penalty of forgery is a standard for every person. Every thief, child or adult does not matter, is convicted in the same way.On the other hand, another group of people think that each occasion related to crime is different from one another. Because psychology and position of guilty, environmental factors and reasons and results of the crime affect thedamage of the crime on people or society. Accordingly, such mentioned factors should be detectable on the level of punishment. For instance, if a person causes a traffic accident by a mistake, his position, his regret and his emotional situation should be evaluated, when the penalty is assigned.I personally think that each crime should be assessed specifically and fixed crimes detected beforehand should be able to extend or lessen. Thanks to that, the intentions lied down behind the crime could be thought while deciding the crime of a guilty. Otherwise, thieving a piece ofbread because of hungry will have the same position with a theft who stole many pieces of bread to sell in another place to earn money.Sample Answer 7:In today's modern world, we are constantly bombarded with the issue of crime which has recently increased at an alarming rate in newspapers. Some people, therefore, are of the opinion that all kinds of crime should have its own punishment which is legislated by the government. However, there are a handful of people who assert that some background reasons, which cause the criminals to commitcrimes, should be included in the procedure of deciding on the punishment. Hence, we will examine both sides of the argument before reaching a reasonable conclusion.A fixed punishment for each type of crime is necessary due to several reasons. To begin, it allows every criminal to be treated fairly for every crime. It is important to ensure no one will be discriminated or get offended by the public. In addition, there will not be any unsatisfactory between the criminals who committed the same kind of crime when they are sentenced to jail. Furthermore, a fixed punishment plays anindispensable role in giving a deterrent in turning the would-be offenders. To illustrate, a serious punishment will be incurred to those who commit crimes like murders will definitely deter and cause would-be offenders to change their minds before committing a crime. On the other hand, it is vital to take into account the reasons why criminals commit crimes. First of all, many of them, especially teenagers who are more vulnerable to those feelings of loneliness are more easily influenced by their peers. They do not have mature thinking and are not being aware of the possible negativeimpacts of committing crimes. According to recent research conducted in Columbia, the statistic has shown that about 58% of the youngsters got affected by their badly behaved friends when got caught to involve in crimes. It is also believed by the public that many criminals have the lackings of parental love which eventually causes them to behave violently and aggressively. They, therefore, involve committing crimes including robberies and murders to show how powerful they are.In conclusion, I am of the opinion that every jury should make their decisions on punishments byconsidering the reasons why they commit crimes. Our nation will surely continue to prosper and flourish in the decades to come once the crime rates are successfully reduced.Sample Answer 8:Many people debate on what should be done about punishment on criminals. Some individuals believe that there should be standard punishment for every kind of crime and that should be followed while sentencing a criminal. Yet, some others argue that reasons for crime and background of executing crime should be considered while determining proper punishmentfor criminals. This essay will take a look at this issue from both points of views. To begin with, people may agree to impose fixed standard punishment on criminals based on the crime they committed. By doing this, criminals will be punished according to the crime they made and it seems fair for everyone since they believe the bigger the crime, the harder the prison. For example, imposing the death penalty to both murderer and terrorist who have committed to the same type of crime seems reasonable to many people. It is a considerably equal crime and therefore, they should bepunished by death sentence. When someone kills a person, no matter what was the reason, s/he should be punished according to the predetermined laws.On the other hand, others argue that in determining the proper punishment for criminals, there should be some considerations of what were the motives of crime and also the background of criminals. There must be different punishment between a serial killer and someone who was forced to kill for self-defending. Applying same punishment to the woman who stole a loaf of bread from a store to feed herhungry baby and a corrupt government employee who stole millions of dollar to amass his wealth is not at all justified though stealing was the crime in both cases. All in all, fixed punishment is needed to standardise punishment for different crimes. Nonetheless, there should be some considerations on the motives and environment of criminals in imposing the proper punishment.。

参考范文:Nowadays, it has been reported that there has been an increasing number of crimes committed by youngsters in major cities all over the world. What causes this phenomenon and what people could do to resolve the problem have been widely discussed. In this essay, I would investigate the reasons and suggest some possible solutions accordingly. There are two main reasons why this kind of crimes is on the increase. Firstly, violence on the internet, TV programs and video games is responsible for this situation. It is because youngsters, unlike adults, are lack of abilities to distinguish right from wrong. Therefore, too much violence in the virtual world could render young people aggressive. As a result, they, more often than not, consider violence as the main or even only way to solve problems, thereby leading to crimes. Secondly, low employment rate in many big cities around the world could be another major reason. Most countries are experiencing economic plateau or even backwards due to global economic crisis occurring a few years ago. Consequently, many businesses and factories have decided to cut off their staff or ten d to employ experienced workers over young graduates. This means some youngsters become jobless spontaneously once they graduate. Some of them even turn to commit crimes to make a living or get revenge on society. In order to solve the problem, some main methods are advised accordingly. The first solution is to apply censorship and classification in issuing programs. This means governments or non-governmental organizations should censor the violent and prostitute contents of programs and label them such as "adult only" or "viewers excluded below 14" before programs are publicized. This would help to keep youngsters from too much violence on programs away. Another method is to carry out free job training programs designed closely related to the demand of the job market. After training, youngsters, more of ten than not, can expect better chances of being employed. Other ways could include tax-reduction policy for university graduates self-employment, providing paid social service positions for youngsters, etc.To conclude, methods such as censorship on programs and free job training for youngsters are strongly recommended too much violence on programs and low employment.(370 words)雅思写作大作文高分范文:如何解决青少年犯罪问题In some countries, a high proportion of criminal acts are committed by teenagers. THE ROOT CAUSES OFCRIMECS&CPC Statement on the Root Causes of Crime approved in 1996OverviewIndividuals need to be responsible for their own actions. An understanding of root causes cannot and should not be seen as a way to absolve us from personal accountability. However, while individuals have an obligation to act responsibly and with respect for their fellow citizens, communities have a responsibility to address those conditions, which hinder healthydevelopment and can become the breeding ground for rime. The root causes of crime are well documented and researched. Crime is primarily the outcome of multiple adverse social, economic, cultural and family conditions. To prevent crime it is important to have anunderstanding of its roots. These are complex and interrelated, but can be summarized in three main categories:• Economic Factors/Poverty• Social Environment• Family StructuresEconomic Factors/PovertyIn addition to lack of financial resources, poverty manifests itself in a lack of educationalopportunities, lack of meaningful employment options, poor housing, lack of hope and theprejudice against persons living in poverty.Social EnvironmentOur social structure mirrors to citizens and communities what we value and how we setpriorities. Social root causes of crime are: inequality, not sharing power, lack of support tofamilies and neighborhoods, real or perceived inaccessibility to services, lack of leadership in communities, low value placed on children and individual well-being, the overexposure totelevision as a means of recreation.Family StructuresThe CSCPC believes that families are uniquely placed in contributing to raising healthyresponsible members of society. But the task of putting children first goes well beyond thefamily to include communities and society. Dysfunctional family conditions contribute to future delinquency. These conditions include:• Parental inadequacy• Parental conflict• Parental criminality• Lack of communication (both in quality and quantity)• Lack of respect and responsibility• Abuse and neglect of children• Family violenceCrime prevention must focus on improvements in all three areas. From Reaction to PreventionCrime can be closely linked to the conditions for children in our community. There is a strong link between reducing risk and building resilience in children and decreasing crime. Problems arise when the larger social, political and economic systems within which children live jeopardize the family's resources and create stress on the family unit. As a result, the provision of appropriate care and required resources to all children will have great significance for their long term physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being and their development into independent, healthy adults. The offender of tomorrow is often the vulnerable child of today.Vulnerable children are those at risk for significant and enduring social, emotional, or behavioural problems. These children are more likely to be dependent on public resources over the course of their development, particularly through the child welfare, social assistance, corrections, or mental health service systems. All children are potentially vulnerable and may develop emotional or behavioural problems when their own physical or emotional resources are unable to meet the challenges of their social and physical environment. There are three levels of prevention:1. Primary PreventionPrimary prevention efforts try to ensure the health of the community as a whole by attempting to stop adverse conditions from developing in the first place. Programs which address parenting, family support, adequate housing, etc. could all be considered primary prevention if they are universally accessible and offered before any difficulties are identified. Primary prevention can be the most cost-effective method of dealing with a problem because it can reduce costs in manydifferent areas over the long term. Universal programs are only ever as effective as their ability to include and support populations at risk.2. Secondary PreventionSecondary prevention attempts to stop a crime from occurring after certain "warning signs" have appeared. An example might be programs, which focus on a specific problem or problem group. Anti-social or delinquent behaviour (e.g., disrespect for school staff; spray-painting slogans on buildings) can often be stopped through early intervention in problem situations beforethey become more serious and lead to a life of crime or victimization.3. Tertiary PreventionLaw enforcement efforts generally fall into the category of tertiary prevention. Sentencing a person to prison ensures that they will not commit a crime while serving their sentence. This is crime prevention after the fact because the person is known to the community and has already broken the law. While these measures ensure (for a time) that an offender cannot commit another offense they cannot reverse the effects of the original crime.Fundamental to prevention is a commitment to the essentials of adequate care for all children. The CS&CPC is a proud partner of the Alliance for Children and Youth of Waterloo Region. The Alliance emphasizes strengths based approaches.Preventative efforts strive to achieve the following goals:• Reduce the incidence of serious, long-term emotional and behavioral problems in all children.• Promote the optimal social, emotional, behavioral and cognitive development in children at highest risk.• Strengthen the ability of communities to respond effectively to children and their families in social and economic need.Successful prevention programs share many of the following characteristics:• Enhance children's mental health and promote a healthier environmentfor children.• Are freely accessible to all children• Do not single out or stigmatize individuals, families or communities• Focus on education, building competence and skills• Actively include families and communities in development and implementation• Maximize the likelihood of positive outcomes and produce cost-savings when compared to treatmentRisk FactorsWhen several risk factors are combined, there is a higher probability that crime occurs. "Root Cause" is not the most accurate term when talking about risk factors. In fact a cause-effect mind-set makes it too easy to assume that the existence of a risk factor inevitably leads to criminality. For example, the research literature overwhelmingly points to poverty as a factor in criminal behaviour. However, many poor people do not engage in crime. A great deal of research and study has taken place in the field of criminology over the past 50 years. The data is supported by life-cycle studies in other disciplines including health, education and social science. Research from studies in Europe, Canada and the U.S. examined personal characteristics of convicted offenders, relationships with family and peers, self reporting data, neighborhood characteristics and other data to come to four major conclusions:Occasional and Persistent DelinquentsWe need to distinguish between occasional and persistent offenders. For example, 81% ofadolescents commit a criminal offence at some time during their adolescence (e.g. mischief, experimentation with drugs, shoplifting, etc.); 9% of adolescent offenders commit seriousoffenses. In economically disadvantaged areas, 7% of men are responsible for over 50% of all offenses. Persistent offenders engage in criminal behavior earlier and continue longer.High Crime AreasCrime rates differ markedly within cities as well as different areas across Canada. For example, northern communities in Canada have substantially higher violent and property crimes than the national average. Police forces everywhere can point to neighbourhoods and urban areas which experience higher crime rates. The Criminal Justice SystemThere are many regional and area differences: dismissal of charges, reporting criteria for crime, media attention to certain crimes are not consistent across Canada. It can also be difficult to obtain an accurate picture of crime because many criminal offenses are not reported.Conversely, policies of zero tolerance in schools can significantly "increase" reported crime statistics, and public perception of the problem.Multiple FactorsRisk factors combine to make the probability of criminal behavior more likely. No one variable should be considered in isolation. Following are the major risk factors supported in research. Many persistent offenders begin their involvement in anti-social activities before and during adolescence. Age alone is not a risk factor. It must be looked at in context of poverty, racism, family violence, parental and community neglect and problems at school. Research into persistent offending has emphasized the need to focus prevention efforts on early childhood years. Birth to age 5 is the most critical time for healthy social and emotional development.GenderWhile crime rates for females have increased in recent years, males are much more likely to be involved in crime. The research points out that crime usually involves aggression, risk taking an predatory behavior.Social and Economic DisadvantageIn Canada, aboriginals represent a disproportionate number of those incarcerated. This situation, in reality, is the consequence of people being kept at a social and economic disadvantage. These factors combined, greatly increase the risk of turning to crime.Low family income and poor housing often amplify poor parental supervision, marital disharmony, inconsistent care, poor nutrition, chronic health care problems, poor school performance and psychological disorders. Unsatisfactory living conditions are particularly stressful during pregnancy. Fetal development is negatively affected by maternal stress. Such stress has shown to be closely related to ill-health, neurological problems, slow development and behaviour disturbances in children. While there is not direct cause and effect relationship between poverty and crime, the conditions arising out of poverty combine to create "high" risk populations who are over-represented in the criminal justice system.Persistent UnemploymentMany studies find that a high number of youth and adults admitted to correctional facilities are unemployed. Persistent unemployment often creates a sense of despair, particularly amongst youth and can provoke angry expression including theft, substance and alcohol abuse, as well as child and family violence. Similarly, unemployed men released after terms of incarceration are more likely to re-offend. Failure in school and an unstable job situation can combine to continue an individual's involvement in crime.(Spring 2000) written by Louise Delude.Home EnvironmentThere is a direct link between the abuse of women and child abuse and future delinquent behavior. This link is well researched and documented and shows that over 50% of violent young offenders witnessed wife abuse in the home. Physically abused children are five times more likely to be violent adults. Sexually abused children are eight times more likely to be sexually violent as adults. It has been estimated that up to 80% of incarcerated males have experienced some form of physical or sexual abuse as a child.Lack of parental supervision, parental rejection and lack of parent-child involvement are consistent indicators of delinquent behavior. Parenting that features inconsistent, incoherent, overly punitive or too permissive methods of discipline also increase the risk of delinquency. Studies show that unwanted pregnancy and teen pregnancy create higher risk factorstowards criminality. Ineffective parenting encourages youth to associate with peers who are involved in criminal activities. At the risk of oversimplifying a complex problem, research suggests that there is a direct link between dysfunctional parenting and the tendency for the youth to associate with delinquent peers. As children, offenders are less successful in school, have lower attendance rates and are more likely to leave school early than their peers. Early school leavers experience many difficulties, the most obvious being unemployment or under-employment. Canadian studies show that 40% of federal inmates have a learning disability which remained undetected throughout their childhood.Substance AbuseAlcohol and substance abuse are often associated with criminal behavior. Many offenders are under the influence of drugs or alcohol when offenses are committed. Regular alcohol use during adolescence can lead to higher conviction rates in adulthood. To a lesser extent, research speaks of the influence of television and other multi-media on the behavior of children. There is also some evidence that there are links between diet and violent behavior. The research has been compiled from a variety of empirical studies, organizations, task forces and government reports and is consolidated in a publication by The John Howard Society of Alberta "Crime Prevention Through Social Development" 1995.Some related websitesJohn Howard Society of Canada - www.johnhoward.caCanadian Council on Social DevelopmentCaledon Institute。

预防犯罪的英文作文Crime prevention is a crucial aspect of maintaining a safe and secure society. It involves a concerted effort by individuals, communities, and governments to identify and address the root causes of criminal behavior. The aim is to create an environment where crime is less likely to occur, promoting a sense of safety and security among citizens. At the individual level, crime prevention starts with education and awareness. People need to understand the consequences of their actions and the impact they have on others. They should be encouraged to make responsible decisions, respect the law, and uphold moral values. Additionally, individuals should be aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.Communities play a vital role in crime prevention. They can create safe spaces for children and youth by providing recreational facilities, educational programs, and mentorship opportunities. Community engagement and involvement can also help identify and address issues suchas poverty, unemployment, and social exclusion, which can often lead to criminal behavior.Governments have a responsibility to ensure that the necessary laws and policies are in place to prevent crime. This includes investing in education, healthcare, andsocial services to address the root causes of criminal behavior. Governments should also ensure that the criminal justice system is fair, effective, and accountable, ensuring that those who commit crimes are appropriately punished while also providing rehabilitation and reintegration programs for offenders.Technology can also play a significant role in crime prevention. For example, surveillance cameras and other security measures can help monitor and detect suspicious activities. Data analytics can be used to identify patterns and trends in criminal behavior, allowing authorities to anticipate and prevent potential crimes. In conclusion, crime prevention is a sharedresponsibility that requires the involvement of individuals, communities, and governments. By working together, we can create a safe and secure society where crime is less likelyto occur, promoting a sense of safety and security among citizens.**预防犯罪:共同的责任**预防犯罪是维护安全稳定社会的重要方面。

causesandsolutionofcrime

causesandsolutionofcrime

causesandsolutionofcrimeOne of the much-talked-about present-day social problems is crime, and its rate of frequency is increasingly on the rise.Particularly,in recent years, with school scale enlarging year by year, education level diversification, therecruit students number is tremendouslyincreased. The differences of cultural level, political thought and moral level among students are big. Students' quality becomes uneven, declined, and the university students' illegal crime case is on the rise. Nobody has the definitive answer to what causes crime, but seemingly everybody has an opinion about it. Therefore, figuring out the cause of crime and the way to prevent and control of university students crime is worth deeply studied and discussed. As far as I know, there are several reasons as following can been included in basic causes of crime.First of all, the most fundamental factor is the reflection of family. The family is the cradle of humans' physical and mental growth, is the most basic unit of the society. From birth to young, people spent most of the time in the family together with parents, and this period is the most critical period of socialization, parents have played an important role in the child's matureprocess.Misconduct of family education is like a kind of breeding soil of personal crime. In addition, an incomplete family will also affectthe growth of a person. Survey figures showed that teenagein single parent families has higher crime rate than in normal families.Obviously, parents' divorce is a great disaster to their children , which deeply hurt children’sheart. Therefore, the family factors have a profound influence on one’s criminalmotive.Secondly, another reason for personal crime is the influence of society. In the first place, the negative effect of the market economy. The problem of unsoundnessmarket and high unemployment, brought by this kind of negative effect, misleads people’s thought and makes a few less de termined men trend towards wrong philosophy and values. They hasten to avoid suffering, to pursue pleasure .when they can't achieve purpose through the proper channels, some of these people will adopt the method of crime to realize.Inthe second place, the temptation of bad media culture. The media is double-edged sword. It brings us convenient life, helps us open field of vision, butcomes with many temptations as well. Some books, audio and video products containing the content of destruction, violence and obscene, make some poor willpower college students drunk in these unhealthy media and cannot extricate themselves, until step into the road to crime.Thirdly, university education system has defects. In the contemporary university education, schools pay more attention to professional education than moral education and labor education. Culture education is boring and single, and moral character education is too formalized.Anyway, both of them are apart from reality. In this kind of education mode, some students lacked of legal knowledge, failed to set up the correct outlook on life and the values of society. Eventually, this bad situation leads to moral decay and crime. However, there are lots of solutions to the present situation. To begin with, parents, as the first teacher in children’s life, should provide a good environment for their children’s growth and avoid bad habit in front of children. Moreover, schools needto improve and implement the system of students’psychological aid. Schools also have the responsibili ty to rich campus activities and send students to social practice.Additionally,we must universally advocate the tremendous intensity of the fighting crime and educate citizens to observelawanddiscipline. At the same time, the government shouldstrengthen social security to create a better life environment.。

This phenomenon, defined as the participation of minors in illegal activities, has raised many concerns, as it involves young people who have not yet reached the age of majority. Here are some steps to address the issue of juvenile crime. The first step is to identify the causes of juvenile delinquency. Many factors can contribute to this problem, including poverty, family dysfunction, peer pressure, substance abuse, and mental health issues. Strong communities can be powerful tools for preventing juvenile delinquency. This can be achieved by creating safe places for children to play and learn, providing mentorship programs and after-school activities, and supporting community-focused initiatives such as neighborhood watch programs. The fifth and final step is to provide rehabilitation and support for young people who have already committed crimes. This includes offering counseling and therapy, substance abuse treatment, educational and vocational training, and opportunities for community service. These interventions can help young people turn their lives around and become valuable members of society. In conclusion, addressing the issue of juvenile delinquency requires a comprehensive approach that includes preventative measures, educational resources, family support, community engagement, and rehabilitative services. Causes of Crimes2.1 Causes Occurred in Society2.1.1 Negative Influences by Market EconomyEver since the introduction of market economy in 1980s, it has been playing a positive role in promoting China’s economy. However, its negative influences show up in some fields. The cultural and ideological conflict brought by market economy to som e extent gives rise to confusion in people’s minds, leaving people divert from the right outlooks on life and the right values. They are pursuing enjoyment and eluding hardship. In the case that they are not able to meet their goals through legal channels, some of them would probably meet their personal demands via breaking the law and committing crimes. In the meantime, a majority of people concentrate on material life in reality and many of them measure personal benefits and losses with the standard of material benefits. These factors trigger some crimes committed, including robbery, burglary, and fraud. In addition, market economy also results in unfairness in distributing social wealth and corruption, which influences people’s values in a deep way. Poverty is the greatest mass-based cause of crime. Seeing the increasing income gap between the poor and the rich, some of them don’t hold the conviction of everyone being equal any more. They are apt to be money-centered or benefit-oriented. What’s more, There are manyproblems, such as Lack of social security, work pressure, difficult employment, difficult living conditions, poor health insurance issues and so on, which may cause that people will not withstand these pressures and thus will fall into the abyss of some criminal activities.2.1.2 Temptation from Unhealthy Media CultureMedia are characteristic of offering the public the latest but perhaps not the best information. Therefore, on the one hand, they make it much more convenient for us to have access to sea of information and to widen our views; while on the other hand, they facilitate us to confront with more temptations. Violent elements and porn contents are found in some books, audio and video products. These illegal publications and video products flood into Internet, making a group of weak-minded people fall victims to these temptations and intoxicated with those unhealthy cultures. They cannot find the way out and would probably end up committing crimes. Some media only give priority to benefits instead of popularizing healthy culture. A variety of singing contests and TV shows mushrooms is up almost over one night. These shows lead young people to pursue reputation and benefit and dream of succeeding through shortcuts. To some extent, some med ia don’t properly guide the public opinions.2.2 Causes Occurred on Campus2.2.1 Defects of Educational SystemUnder the current educational system, schools at all levels relatively focus on professional education but ignore ideological and moral cultivation. Courses on professional knowledge are relatively boring and dull, while courses on moral education are just done for show. In some ways, they are not in conformity to reality and facts. Although many institutions of higher learning have embarked on quality education and have accordingly exercised a wide range of reforms in curriculum setup, they have not paid enough attention to the close link between education and the phenomenon of college students committing crimes. Relevant courses on rule of law are just conducted for show. Some students’ purpose of studying is just to pass all the exams, get enough credits and graduate in time. Some professors give lessons only for finishing jobs. Therefore, the entire atmosphere on campus is not study-oriented any more and everyone just keeps an eye on final results. How on earth should the education effect be measured? There is no scientific method to judge it. As a result, whether students’ psychological problems and ideological problems can be fixed and to what extent they can be fixed is no one’s concern. Under this educational mode, some students have poor sense of law, don’t shape right outlook on life and values and enjoy a wrong comprehension of society and life. Consequently, they lose themselves in the respect of morality. And that is how crimes committed by college students occur.2.2.2 Poor Management on CampusFirst of all, management resources on campus are relatively short due to enlargement of enrollment in institutions of higher learning. In the year of 2005, around 5.04 million students are enrolled into regular institutions of higher learning, which is 4.7 times of that in the year of 1998, making university enrollments reach 23 million, top one all over the world. As institutions of higher learning enlarge their enrollments at a rapid speed, there come the following problems: the shortage of educational resources, poor management, inability of logistic support and so on. These problems are having negative influence on institutions of higher learning, restraining development of school and damaging education quality. These defects are imposing bad influence on college students themselves. Secondly, management on mental health has not been put into place. The environment of promoting mental health education in most institutions of higher learning is underdeveloped. Relevant administrative organs in school neglect the importance of mental health since mental health is an invisible facet of human health. They hold the belief that keeping students in a sound physical form is performing their duty. However, it is far from enough. The indifference in mindset directly results in the sluggishness of psychological research work in school. As a result, psychological demands from some poor students or studentsgrowing up in a special family environment might be overlooked, which objectively causes confusion of college students’ values that are characterized by diversified and strong emotions. Non-cognitive harmony might show up in their minds. What is worse, some students might even go to extremes and close themselves, deny themselves and even doubt about life. These factors bring on the fact that management of mental health in universities is relatively poor. Under this kind of environmen t, some students’ mental situation develops in an unhealthy way. In the wake of a long term of mental oppression, some students with psychological problems would erupt like a volcano, ending up with some criminal behaviors. Even some trivial thing would be the combustible fuse that triggers some extreme actions, even crimes. The case of Ma Jiajue is a typical one that elaborates on the whole process of hatching crimes due to mental oppression on campus. benefit-oriented on campus.2.3 Causes Occurred in FamilyFamily is the cradle in which college students grow up not only physically but also mentally. Families are to society what cells are to human bodies. They complete a society. From birth to adolescence, people spend most of their childhood with parents in family. And this phase is the key moment when they are moving toward socialization. Parents definitely play indispensable roles in helping kids become mature. Therefore, relationships within families are greatly and profoundly influential to crimes committed by college students. It has been shown by a large amount of research materials on juvenile delinquency that crimes committed by college students who commit crimes are most directly linked to their family backgrounds and environments.①2.3.1 Improper Family EducationThe improperness that lies in family education provides college students who commit crimes with prerequisites. Rooted in family education in China, the improperness is fairly critical. There are many different improper education modes. Some spoil children, offering whatever they need. Some treat children in violent ways. And some carry on laissez faire, letting children work on their own business. Among all these modes, the spoiling one is the most popular in college students’ familie s. Due to the family planning policy, most college students nowadays are the only child at home. They have been considered as the apple of eye since they came to the world. All the hopes and love are given to them. In this case, too much hopes and love turn into intangible burdens to parents, as well as to children. So some extreme education modes are not beyond understanding. And it is these kinds of extreme education modes that make it difficult for children to become socialized in a normal way. They may form some bad habits and personalities that are supposed to be the internal causes of committing crimes. They areprinces or princesses at home and can do whatever they want at will. But when they set feet in universities or society, that kind of privilege is gone all of a sudden. The huge difference they are confronted with may probably put them at a loss and lead them to mental collapse and even some extreme actions. In the meantime, the improperness lying in family education is embodied by the contents of education. Under the pressure of National College Entrance Exams, parents are inclined to focus on their children’s marks rather than whether they are forming good habits, whether they are completing their personalities or whether they are growing up mentally. When parents center on results rather than processes, children have no option but to follow the path that parents have set for them.2.3.2 Incompleteness of Family StructureThe divorce rate is constantly mounting up year by year. As a result, an increasing number of students are brought up by single parent. According to statistics, the crime rate of students growing up in single-parent families is much higher than those who grow up with a complete family environment. The incompleteness of family structure weakens the educational function of family, even takes away that function. The single parents may probably, to one extreme, overindulge their children in the view of compensating them for the incomplete family, or, to the other extreme, come up with indifference andestrangement with children due to working and living pressures. Growing up in this kind of environment, children are prone to feel lonely psychologically and become dissocial and eccentric. Once beaten by some setbacks, they might feel totally frustrated. They cannot have access to some appropriate vent to let pressures and emotions out. In the end, they would possibly choose the extreme ways. Since they are in single-parent family and they lack love from mother or father, these children would be biased or isolated by their peers at school and people in their neighborhoods. Therefore, they would possibly form personalities that are characteristic of strong self-esteem, weak endurance, intensive emulation, jealous, and narrow mind. ①At the bottom of their hearts, they are eager to savor parents’ love and enjoy family life as children in normal families, but they pretend to be unavailable and indifferent. They are over mature and they scare being made joke of by classmates. They are ready to revenge whenever their benefit is damaged.2.4.Personal德国精神病学家恩斯特·克雷奇默在其《体型与性格》中说:瘦长型体型的人较多实施盗窃和欺诈,健壮型体型的人较多实施侵犯他人人身的犯罪及性犯罪,肥胖型体型的人,容易实施诈骗,发育异常型体型的人,容易实施性罪。
