松江古称华亭，唐天宝十年(751年)置华亭县，是江南著名的鱼米之乡。松江总面积604.67平方公里，位于黄浦江上游，处于长三角中心地带，距上海市区30公里，离虹桥国际机场25公里，离浦东机场68公里，是上海西南的重要门户。区内G60沪昆高速、G50沪渝高速、G15沈海高速、G1501上海绕城高速、S32申嘉湖高速、上海轨道交通9号线、沪杭铁路、沪杭高铁等形成纵横交错的交通网。至2017年末，全区共有常住人口175万人，其中，户籍人口69万人。松江是上海郊区着力建设的现代化新城、长三角重要节点城市，历史悠久，文化兴盛，人才荟萃，交通便捷，产业基础雄厚。Songjiang was known as Huating in ancient times and it was established as the County Town of Huating in 751 AD, which is a famous and affluent area in the south of the Yangtze River. Songjiang District covers an area of 604.67 km2, which lies in the upper reaches of Huangpu River and the center of Yangtze Delta. It is 30km away from the Shanghai city, 25km from Hongqiao International Airport, 68km from Pudong International Airport and it is an important gateway to Shanghai in the southwest. There is an integrated transportation network made up of several major expressways and rails such as G60 Hu-Kun

Expressway, G50 Hu-Yu Expressway, G15 Shen-Hai Expressway, G1501 Shanghai Ring Expressway, S32 Shen-Jia-Hu Expressway, No.9, No.22 metro line, Hu-hang Railway and Hu-Hang High-speed Rail. These compose a crisscross transportation network. By the end of 2017, the resident population of Songjiang reached 1.75 million. Among them, 690,000 people were registered permanent residents. Songjiang is a modern new city that Shanghai suburb focuses on developing, and plays an important role in Yangtze River Delta. It has a long history, flourishing culture, convenient transportation and solid industrial foundations.

松江享有国际花园城市、全国十大休闲城市之美誉，拥有佘山国家级旅游度假区和上海唯一的自然山林胜地，以人文荟萃的历史文化和源远流长的宗教胜迹名闻遐迩。松江居住环境优越，城区绿化覆盖率36.6%，人均公共绿地面积达14.2平方米，是一座达到中等规模的文化旅游园林城市。区内文化馆、博物馆、图书馆等公共文化设施达362个，占地面积达26万平方米。拥有公立医疗卫生机构29个，床位数4164张。拥有星级宾馆8家，其中，五星级宾馆3家。万达广场、开元地中海商业广场、新理想广场等购物中心提供了餐饮、休闲、购物、娱乐等一站式服务。

Songjiang has granted great honors such as International Garden City and one of China’s Ten Leisure Cities. As the only

mountainous area in Shanghai, it is acknowledged for its profound history and culture as well as religious sites of long standing. Songjiang has become a medium scale cultural tourism garden city with an agreeable living environment and represents the comprehensive strength and level of Shanghai suburbs. The urban green area coverage percentage has reached 36.6%. The public greenbelt area per person is now 14.2m2. There are 362 public cultural facilities, such as cultural centers, museums and libraries, etc., covering an area of 260,000m². There are 29 public health institutions in Songjiang, which contain 4,164 beds. There have been 8 star-rated hotels in Songjiang, among which 3 are five-star hotel. Shop mall, such Wanda Plaza，Kaiyuan Plaza and Dream Plaza provides residents with a catering, leisure, shopping, entertainment and other one-stop service.
