1. How to Keep Ourselves Safe

During an Earthquake?

As we know, how dangerous the earthquake is! We don’t know when and where it happens, but we can do something about it. What do you do can save your life?

The most important thing is to stay calm. If you are indoors during an earthquake, you should hide under a strong table or a desk and protect your head with arms. You shouldn’t try to run out of the room. You should also keep away from windows and things which can fall on you.

If you are outdoors, you should keep away from buildings and tall trees, because they may hurt you, and you should run to clear areas. Stay in a safe area until you are sure you can leave. Some aftershocks may follow an earthquake. These are more dangerous than the earthquake. You should be more careful of them. When you’re safe you should check the people near you and help them.

2. How Can We Keep

Healthy?

A Healthy body is very important for all of us. As the saying goes, “Health is more important than wealth.”

How can we keep healthy? Here is some advice:

First, we should have a healthy lifestyle. For example, we should go to bed early and get up early; we should wash our hands and have a bath often.

Second, we should eat healthy eating habits. Healthy food can give us energy for life. We should eat more vegetables and less meat. We should drink enough water every day.

Third, we should play sports

every day. It is a good way to keep

healthy.

Last but not least, you should

say no to smoking or drinking. It’s

not cool. Instead, it’s quite bad for

us.

If you take the advice, I’m sure

you will have a healthy body.

3. My Weekend

Last Sunday I was very busy. I

got up at 7:00 a.m. When Lai Lin

called me after breakfast, I was

doing my homework. He wanted me

to play with him. We were playing

basketball happily from 10:00 to

12:00.

In the afternoon, I was washing

my clothes from 2:00 to 2:30. Then

I had a short rest. I was reading

comics(漫画) from 3:00 to 4:00. At

4:30 I went to see my grandparents

with my parents. After supper, we

went home. Then I was watching

TV from 8:00 to 9:00.

When I went to bed, I felt a

little tired. But I was very happy.

4. The Internet

The Internet is becoming an

important part of our lives.

Many students like surfing on

the Internet a lot. They can learn

much more knowledge from the

Internet. And people can find out

much useful information. People

can also listen to music, watch

movies, do some shopping, chatting

with friends and so on. And it can

make people clever by playing

different kinds of games.

But some young people spend

too much time playing games. So

they do worse in their lessons and

jobs. Some even hurt others or get

money by cheating others. Also,

watching the computer is bad for

our eyes and health.

I think they mustn’t spend too

much time on it when they’re

studying at school. We can do it in

summer or winter holidays.

5. Studying English on the

Internet

The Internet is becoming more

and more imp ortant in our lives. It’s

also good for my study. It makes my

study much easier.

I often listen to the English

songs and stories online to improve

my listening skills. My spoken

English isn’t good. So I often chat

with my pen pals from England

online. They help me a lot. When I

can’t understand some grammars, I

always ask for help at online

grammar website. I like reading

some articles on the Internet and

they help me improve my reading

skills. If I meet some new words

that I can’t understand I can look

them up in an online dictionary.

Thanks to the Internet, I

improve my English a lot.

6.My Favorite Sport

Dear Tony,

How are you these days?I do

a lot of exercise this term. I think

doing exercise can make me active

in class.

I spend an hour doing sports

every day. I play table tennis,

basketball and football with my

classmates after class. Basketball is

my favorite sport and I can play it

pretty well now. It’s good for my

legs, lungs and heart. I think it’s a

great game to make me not only

happy but also healthy.
