英语著名的演讲稿篇1[authenticity certified: text version below transcribed directly from audio. (2)]less than three months ago at platform hearings in salt lake city, i asked the republican party to lift the shroud of silence which has been draped over the issue of hiv and aids. i have e tonight to bring our silence to an end. i bear a message of challenge, not self-congratulation. i want your attention, not your applause.i would never have asked to be hiv positive, but i believe that in all things there is a purpose; and i stand before you and before the nation gladly. the reality of aids is brutally clear. two hundred thousand americans are dead or dying. a million more are infected. worldwide, forty million, sixty million, or a hundred million infections will be counted in the ing few years. but despite science and research, white house meetings, and congressional hearings, despite good intentions and bold initiatives, campaign slogans, and hopeful promises, it is -- despite it all -- the epidemic which is winning tonight.in the context of an election year, i ask you, here in this great hall, or listening in the quiet of your home, to recognize that aids virus is not a political creature. it does not care whether you are democrat or republican; it does not ask whether you are black or white, male or female, gay or straight, young or old.tonight, i represent an aids munity whose members have been reluctantly drafted from every segment of american society. though i am white and a mother, i am one with a black infant struggling with tubesin a philadelphia hospital. though i am female and contracted this disease in marriage and enjoy the warm support of my family, i am one with the lonely gay man sheltering a flickering candle from the cold wind of his family’s rejection.this is not a distant threat. it is a present danger. the rate of infection is increasing fastest among women and children. largely unknown a decade ago, aids is the third leading killer of young adult americans today. but it won’t be third for long, because unlike other diseases, this one travels. adolescents don’t give each other cancer or heart disease because they believe they are in love, but hiv is different; and we have helped it along. we have killed each other with our ignorance, our prejudice, and our silence.we may take refuge in our stereotypes, but we cannot hide there long, because hiv asks only one thing of those it attacks. are you human? and this is the right question. are you human? because people with hiv have not entered some alien state of being. they are human. they have not earned cruelty, and they do not deserve meanness. they don’t benefit from being isolated or treated as outcasts. each of them is exactly what god made: a person; not evil, deserving of our judgment; not victims, longing for our pity -- people, ready for support and worthy of passion.my call to you, my party, is to take a public stand, no less passionate than that of the president and mrs. bush. they have embraced me and my family in memorable ways. in the place of judgment, they have shown affection. in difficult moments, they have raised our spirits. in the darkest hours, i have seen them reaching not only to me, but also to my parents, armed with that stunning grief and special grace that es only to parents who have themselves leaned too long over the bedside of a dying child.with the president’s leadership, much good has been do ne. much ofthe good has gone unheralded, and as the president has insisted, much remains to be done. but we do the president’s cause no good if we praise the american family but ignore a virus that destroys it.we must be consistent if we are to be believed. we cannot love justice and ignore prejudice, love our children and fear to teach them. whatever our role as parent or policymaker, we must act as eloquently as we speak -- else we have no integrity. my call to the nation is a plea for awareness. if you believe you are safe, you are in danger. because i was not hemophiliac, i was not at risk. because i was not gay, i was not at risk. because i did not inject drugs, i was not at risk.my father has devoted much of his lifetime guarding against another holocaust. he is part of the generation who heard pastor nemoellor e out of the nazi death camps to say,“they came after the jews, and i was not a jew, so, i did not protest. they came after the trade unionists, and i was not a trade unionist, so, i did not protest. then they came after the roman catholics, and i was not a roman catholic, so, i did not protest. then they came after me, and there was no one left to protest.”the -- the lesson history teaches is this: if you believe you are safe, you are at risk. if you do not see this killer stalking your children, look again. there is no family or munity, no race or religion, no place left in america that is safe. until we genuinely embrace this message, we are a nation at risk.tonight, hiv marches resolutely toward aids in more than a million american homes, littering its pathway with the bodies of the young -- young men, young women, young parents, and young children. one of the families is mine. if it is true that hiv inevitably turns to aids, then my children will inevitably turn to orphans. my family has been a rock of support.my 84-year-old father, who has pursued the healing of the nations, will not accept the premise that he cannot heal his daughter. my mother refuses to be broken. she still calls at midnight to tell wonderful jokes that make me laugh. sisters and friends, and my brother phillip, whose birthday is today, all have helped carry me over the hardest places. i am blessed, richly and deeply blessed, to have such a family.but not all of you -- but not all of you have been so blessed. you are hiv positive, but dare not say it. you have lost loved ones, but you dare not whisper the word aids. you weep silently. you grieve alone. i have a message for you. it is not you who should feel shame. it is we -- we who tolerate ignorance and practice prejudice, we who have taught you to fear. we must lift our shroud of silence, making it safe for you to reach out for passion. it is our task to seek safety for our children, not in quiet denial, but in effective action.someday our children will be grown. my son max, now four, will take the measure of his mother. my son zachary, now two, will sort through his memories. i may not be here to hear their judgments, but i know already what i hope they are. i want my children to know that their mother was not a victim. she was a messenger. i do not want them to think, as i once did, that courage is the absence of fear. i want them to know that courage is the strength to act wisely when most we are afraid. i want them to have the courage to step forward when called by their nation or their party and give leadership, no matter what the personal cost.i ask no more of you than i ask of myself or of my children. to the millions of you who are grieving, who are frightened, who have suffered the ravages of aids firsthand: have courage, and you will find support. to the millions who are strong, i issue the plea: set aside prejudice and politics to make room for passion and sound policy.to my children, i make this pledge: i will not give in, zachary, because i draw my courage from you. your silly giggle gives me hope; your gentleprayers give me strength; and you, my child, give me the reason to say to america, "you are at risk." and i will not rest, max, until i have done all i can to make your world safe. i will seek a place where intimacy is not the prelude to suffering. i will not hurry to leave you, my children, but when i go, i pray that you will not suffer shame on my account.to all within the sound of my voice, i appeal: learn with me the lessons of history and of grace, so my children will not be afraid to say the word "aids" when i am gone. then, their children and yours may not need to whisper it at all.god bless the children, and god bless us all.good night.英语著名的演讲稿篇2as americans gather to celebrate this week, we show our gratitude for the many blessings in our lives. we are grateful for our friends and families who fill our lives with purpose and love. we're grateful for our beautiful country, and for the prosperity we enjoy. we're grateful for the chance to live, work and worship in freedom. and in this thanksgiving week, we offer thanks and praise to the provider of all these gifts, almighty god.we also recognize our duty to share our blessings with the least among us. throughout the holiday season, schools, churches, synagogues and other generous organizations gather food and clothing for their neighbors in need. many young people give part of their holiday to volunteer at homeless shelters or food pantries. on thanksgiving, and on every day of the year, america is a more hopeful nation because of the volunteers who serve the weak and the vulnerable.the thanksgiving tradition of passion and humility dates back to the earliest days of our society. and through the years, our deepest gratitude has often been inspired by the most difficult times. almost four centuriesago, the pilgrims set aside time to thank god after suffering through a bitter winter. george washington held thanksgiving during a trying stay at valley forge. and president lincoln revived the thanksgiving tradition in the midst of a civil war.the past year has brought many challenges to our nation, and americans have met every one with energy, optimism and faith. after lifting our economy from a recession, manufacturers and entrepreneurs are creating jobs again. volunteers from across the country came together to help hurricane victims rebuild. and when the children of beslan, russia suffered a brutal terrorist attack, the world saw america's generous heart in an outpouring of passion and relief.the greatest challenges of our time have e to the men and women who protect our nation. we're fortunate to have dedicated firefighters and police officers to keep our streets safe. we're grateful for the homeland security and intelligence personnel who spend long hours on faithful watch. and we give thanks to the men and women of our military who are serving with courage and skill, and making our entire nation proud.英语著名的演讲稿篇3hello, everyone !my name is i’m from class 1, i’m very happy to stand here to give you my free-talk. today my topic is “to be a good failure”.ibelieve everyone has experienced a lot . we have done good things and also bad things. when we do the bad things, we should not feel sad. we should learn from failure ,learn from every mistake and learn how to be a good loser. that’s what i'll be talking about today. that's our lesson to learn. let me tell you why.first, losing is a part of life. it is unavoidable. it is something we all must face. everybody loses sometimes. every great person knows this truth. so don't be ashamed of losing. losing doesn't mean you're a loser.second, don’t escape from it, just accept it. losing is beneficial and can be helpful to you. we just view it as a learning experience. losing is a chance to learn. you can learn how to try again and improve.third, practice makes perfect. create challenges for yourself. never be afraid of failure. lose as much as you can. losing only makes you better. that is a great secret of success.in conclusion, remember these. you will be a good loser. it might be painful at first. but it will get easier as you go along. you'll be respected and admired. you'll feel so achievement to learn so much. you are not the real failure ,you will be a winner in future.英语著名的演讲稿篇4ever since the dawning of the history of mankind, there have been myriads of diversifed inventions, discoveries, and even explorations of the mysteries of the universe. in fact, the human beings are so intelligent that we have solved almost all kinds of problems we have confronted with.however, nobody has ever made out what the word love really connotes, not even the most famous people such as great politicians, saints and philosophers can clarify the meaning of love, neither can they deal with the various affairs concerning love. love is like a huge boundless net that shrouds us all in. we can neither break away from it nor escape from it. like it or not, we are always entangled in it. it is an invisible net without any form, that shrouds in different people from different angels; it is a merciless net that upsets us or even tortures us to death. it is also a supreme net which almost no human can surpass. even if they are heroes, emperors, wise men or saints, they can do nothing but show their helplessness in its face. those who can breathe through the holes of the net should be regarded beyond monness and vulgarity. love can bring us temporary fort and happiness, but mostly they bring about annoyance and sufferings. maybe this is the reason why many people have seen throughthe illusions of the mortal world. however it is not so easy to break away from this boundless, ever-existing and indifferent net of love.love is varied and changeable, but roughly it can be divided into three categories: family love, fraternal love and amatory love. not like monkey king who jumped out of the rocks, we were all born after mother's pregnancy of about nine months, hence we have countless relatives without any choice: parents, grand-parents, and grand-parents-in-law, uncles and aunties, brothers and sisters, etc. and once looking at the genealogical tree, we'll see no end. family love is what everyone longs for, but the warmth and support from our beloved ones are what everyone yearns for the most. but how many of us are determined to contribute to our beloved one? and how many don't expect repayment and relaxed. conscience even if they have the desire and preparation to contribute to their beloved. the distance between relatives is different and so are their expectations. but since it's very difficult to know how much we should expect, a lot of worries and distresses emerge.parents always expect their children to show their filial obedience, or at least pay them frequent visits after they have got married. if the children fail to do this, they feel hurt and upset, and they'll even plain about their children, because they just can't understand why their children don't care about them after what they have done for the children for so many years to bring them up. nevertheless, one's experience determines his ideology. young children are naturally attached to their parents, but when they grow up, specially when they have made their own friends, and got married, what they need most is independence and freedom, and parents sometimes might bee their burden. once there is generation gap, it bees more difficult to municate and this keeps them away from their parents. objectively speaking, they need more independence in order to achieve success. in the present society, what the children want to havemost is the economic support from their parents, not their moral support or guidance. they would plain if your economic support is not up to their expectations. the love from uncles and aunties would naturally dwindle after they have had their own children. only the love from grand-parents and grand parents-in-law is pure and demands no repayment, and they are also too old to wait for any repayment. as for the distant relatives, their love depends on their needs, just as the old saying goes the poor have no friends even if they live in downtown while the rich have distant relatives even if they live in deep mountains。

life and passion for the english language.about a year and a half ago, i took part in my very first english speech contest. when i stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, i could hardly speak. i stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. my fears had paralyzed me.while my passion for english has never changed, i lost my courage to speak in public. when my professor again encouraged me to take part in this competition, i said “no.” i couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. he looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. i will never forget his words. “look,” he said, “we all have our fears, and you have yours. you could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. a winner is not one who never fails, but one who never quits.”i spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. then i made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: i would face my fears – and take part in the competition!as it turned out, my dear old professor was right. now, here i am, once again standing before a microphone. my heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, i have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!thank you.英语经典演讲稿篇2Welcome to Guangdongladies and nation. so is it to human life. habit is one of your belongings. if you have a good habit, you will never use it up. however, if you have a bad habit, you will be in endless debt. whether to be an owner or a slave is up to you. your behavior leads to a habit, your habit develops your personality, and your personality determines your destiny. from this, we can see it is important for middle school students to build up a good learning habit.as middle school students, what habits do we have to develop?1. show your respect and appreciation to your teachers.2. preview your lessons well.3. listen to the teacher carefully.students should concentrate on in class, and grasp the importance and difficulties, so that they will have the class effectively.4. observe attentively and think actively.5. be good at asking questions. the best students are those who are willing to ask questions and those who are creative.6. learn from others.everyone has his own advantages and disadvantages. what we should do is to learn from each other and get improved.7. do your homework independently.homework is an important part of teaching activities and it is a continuous part. it is the basic and independent practice. at the same time, it is the way to test how much students learned.some students don’t have a clear purpose and attitude towards it. they cheat in different ways. some students are afraid of doing something difficult. these bad habits influenced the efficiency of learning. so, we should pay much attention to our homework.8. think over when you take a test.9. reflect after doing exercise.10. learn to summarize.at last, make a list of your mistakes.mistral , one of the winners of nobel prize in chile, said,“we may wait for lots of things we need, but students can’t do that. they are growing up. we shouldn’t say tomorrow to them. their names are today.thus, let’s start from today, from now on, from every little thing and cultivate one good habit and another. let all the goodhabits be with us for a life time, be a ladder that leads us to success, and to a splendid tomorrow.英语经典演讲稿篇4Let’s stand up from wher e we fall downAll the celebrations welcoming the new 英语演讲稿篇一Ladies and Gentlemen:My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story.65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it tothe Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm wele. When James visited Qingdao, I acpanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error.Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. I would like to say to all of my friends: Let’s be honest people of good moral character.Thank you.带翻译的英文演讲稿篇二Pain past is pleasure.过去的痛苦即快乐。

It is a true story. After years of hard work, this Chinese student graduated with amazing academic achievements. Everyone thought he was going to get a good job easily and have a bright future. But to his disappointment, he was not even allowed the chance for an interview! The third time he was turned down, he couldn’t help telephoning the company to ask why they didn’t want him. The answer was simple, “We don’t hire dishonest people in Germany.”What was wrong you might wonder? The truth is, shortly aften he arrived in Germany, this clever student found that it was easy to skip buying subway tickets. So, to save money, he often went without a ticket. As a result, he had been caught without a ticket in the subway three times. From this story, we learn that we may get short-term benefits by dishonest means, but the truth will come out sooner or later and the cost is high. So remember: honest is the best policy. That’s all for my speech. 著名英语演讲稿(英语演讲稿,著名)正文第一篇:著名英语演讲稿the four freedomsfranklin delano rooseveltin the future days, which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential human freedoms.the first is freedom of speech and expression -- everywhere in the world.the second is freedom of every person to worship god in his own way -- everywhere in the world.the third is freedom from want, which, translated into world terms, means economic understandings which will secure to every nation a healthy peacetime life for its inhabitants -- everywhere in the world.the fourth is freedom from fear, which, translated into world terms, means a world-wide reduction of armaments to such a point and in such a thorough fashion that no nation will be in a position to commit an act of physical aggression against any neighbor -- anywhere in the world.that is no vision of a distant millennium. it is a definite basis for a kind of world attainable in our own time and generation. that kind of world is the very antithesis of the so-called “new order” of tyranny which the dictators seek to create with the crash of a bomb.to that new order we oppose the greater conception -- the moral order. a good society is able to face schemes of world domination and foreign revolutions alike without fear.since the beginning of our american history we have been engaged in change, in a perpetual, peaceful revolution, a revolution which goes on steadily, quietly, adjusting itself to changing conditions without the concentration camp or the quicklime in the ditch. the world order which we seek is the cooperation of free countries, workingtogether in a friendly, civilized society.this nation has placed its destiny in the hands and heads and hearts of its millions of free men and women, and its faith in freedom under the guidance of god. freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere. our support goes to those who struggle to gain those rights and keep them. our strength is our unity of purpose.to that high concept there can be no end save victory.第二篇:著名演讲稿著名演讲稿大学生英文演讲稿:从跌倒的地方站起来let’s stand up from where we fall down all the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year 20XX, because life without a greeting is like the sky without the sun.greetings are very important for the whole world,in my opinion. but i dont know whether greetings are enough for us.especially when we meet with failures .i remember quite clearly that when i was a child,if i fall down and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me“please stand up from where you fall down!“ yes,we must stand up from where we fall down. that was a special mid night in 1993.expectations filled our hearts. we stared at the tv,hoping excitedly as the voice would fly to our ears. but at last, each chinese who loves our motherland was distressed to know the result:beijing ,lost to sydeny by a margin of two votes in the olympic hosting competition. eight years have past, but the frustration has not healed with time at all. now,at the begining of the new millennium, all of the pride and disappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. the 21st century, which is full of hope, longing znd thought has come. someone said,we would start from zero on. should i really start from zero on? no!i (请你继续关注好:)hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed by last century, and make our life better. “new beijing, great olympics!“ the voice cries this out around chinas captital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days. beijing, along with paris, istanbul, osake and toronto, has been shortlisted by the international olympic committee as an official candidate city for the 20XX olympic games. this is beijings second attempt to host the games. everyone fully supports beijings bid for it. maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of beijing. maybe,we can make much of yhe city cleaned up. maybe,we can learn and speak basic english idioms and expressions for daily communication. but,but are they just enough? facing the new century, mankind is driven by the revolution of science and technoiogy, world economy is undergoing broud and profound changes. but nobody can deny the fact that compared with developed nations, developing countries are confronted with more pressure and challenges.in order to become famous in the world,we must speed up our international economic restructuring to catch up with industrialized nations. supporting beijings bid is a systematic project that can support chinasdevelopment efforts. i believe recycled pa-pe-r,clean fuel,sortedrubbish,water-saving and enery-efficient facilities will become reality in the coming years for china. i believe the new century is an era of learning ans teaching, and lifelong education has become one of the main trends in the future developmet of chinese society. i believe that,on july 13,our dream of beijings olympic bid will become true. because to millions of chinese, for china to have the gloal respect and support that she deserves is not just a dream. it is a part of our very souls.for we are not only equal members of our motherland, china, but we are also equal contributors to the world as a whole. let us stand together, all nations in beijing,in brotherhood, friendship and peace, in 20XX and forever!第三篇:英语中著名的爱的箴言英语中著名的爱的箴言―’tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all‖ – alfred, lord tennyson―只求曾经拥有,不求天长地久‖— alfred, lord tennyson―there is always some madness in love. but there is also always some reason in madness.‖ – friedrich ni etzsche―爱情总是有些疯狂的。

We're going to go on a dive to the deep sea, and anyone that's had that lovely opportunity knows that for about two and half hours on the way down, it's a perfectly positively pitch—black world。

And we used to see the most mysterious animals out the windowthat you couldn't describe: these blinking lights —— a world of bioluminescence, like fireflies。

Dr。

Edith Widder —— she's now at the Ocean Research and Conservation Association ——was able to come up with a camera that could capture some of these incredible animals, and that's what you're seeing here on the screen。

1ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,i am chinese. i am proud of being a chinese with five thousand years of civilization behind. i've learned about the four great inventions made by our forefathers. i've learned about the great wall and the yangtze river. i've learned about zhang heng(张衡)and i've learned about zheng he(郑和).who says the yellow river civilization has vanished(消失)?i know that my ancestors have made miracles(奇迹)on this fertile land and we're still making miracles. who can ignore the fact that we have established ourselves as a great state in the world, that we have devised our own nuclear weapons, that we have successfully sent our satellites into space, and that our gnp ranks no. 7 in the world? we have experienced the plunders (掠夺) by other nations, and we have experienced the war. yet, based on such ruins, there still stands our nation----china, unyielding and unconquerable!i once came across an american tourist. she said, “china has a history of five thousand years, but the us only has a history of 200 years. five thousand years ago, china took the lead in the world, and now it is the us that is leading.”my heart was deeply touched by these words. it is true that we're still a developing nation, but it doesn't mean that we can despise (鄙视) ourselves. we have such a long-standing history, we have such abundant resources, we have such intelligent and diligent people, and we have enough to be proud of. we have reasons to say proudly:we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again, for our problems are big, but our ambition (雄心) is even bigger, our challenges (挑战) are great, but our will is even greater.i am chinese. i have inherited (继承) black hair and black eyes.i have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. i have also taken over responsibility. i am sure, that wherever i go, whatever i do, i shall never forget that i am chinese!著名英语演讲稿篇2since the quality of honesty applies to all behaviors, one cannot refuse to consider factual information, for example, in an unbiased manner and still claim that one's knowledge, belief or position is an attempt to be truthful. such a belief is clearly a product of one's desires and simply has nothing to do with the human ability to know. basing one's positions on what one wants — rather than unbiased evidence gathering — is dishonest even when good intentions can be cited — after all even hitler could cite good intentions and intended glory for a select group of people. clearly then, an unbiased approach to the truth is a requirement of honesty.human beings are inherently biased about what they believe to be good due to individual tastes & backgrounds, but once one understands that a decidedly biased approach to what is true —is inherently dishonest, one can also understand how idealism and ideology have poorly served the quest for an honest, moral society. both honesty and morality require that we base our opinions about what is good — upon unbiased ideas of what is true — rather than vice versa(determining what is true based on what we feel is good) —the way all ideologies would have us believe.著名英语演讲稿篇3It’s beyond reproach that we will come across all kinds of difficulties andchallenges in our life time .Some will be subjected to frequent sadness .Somewill lose their way to moveon .Thus, only when we equip ourselves with hope andcourage can we finally succeed in the uncertain future.Forrest Gump showed so great courage in the movie that he touched me a lot. For one thing,no matter when and where Jenny got into trouble ,Forrest Gumpwould bring her out of it without thinking how dangerous the situation would be.Maybe we should all fell ashamed that we love ourselves more than we love love, but Forrest showed great courage in love .For another,Forrest gump risked hislife to save Bubba in the war. It’s courage that helped Forrest gain a series ofhonor after war .Forrest Gump is beautiful for his perseverance and touchesothers with his courage.A per son can’t do without courage in terms of love and friendship ,letalone life . A weak person may avoid the difficulties ,but a person with couragewill face up to it head-on. Therefore, let’equip ourselves with greatcourage.【参考译文】我们一生中遇到各种困难和挑战是无可指责的,有些人会经常悲伤,有些人将失去前进的道路,只有当我们有希望和勇气时,我们才能在不确定的将来取得成功。

经典英语演讲稿1Not long after an old Chinese woman came back to China from her visit to her daughter in the States, she went to a city bank to deposit the US dollars her daughter gave her. At the bank counter, the clerk checked each note carefully to see if the money was real. It made the old lady out of patience. At last she could not hold any more, uttering. "Trust me, Sir, and trust the money. They are real US dollars. They are directly from America."经典英语演讲稿2Good morning everyone!I am very glad to make a speech here! This time, Id like to talk something about my dream. One day I want to grow up to be an actress. I want to be famous as can be. To be known thought out the world and to be love. To be an actress there are greater chance of meeting others famous people, going to their party and wearing fancy clothes, getting to be watch on screen. having own movies, tv show, comecial, clothing labe and so much more. Everthing is going to be about me when I be come an actress. So I want to be an actress to be famous and loveable as can be.Thank you!经典英语演讲稿3Hello, my name is Hao Hao. I am a small member of class 3in grade six. Today, my topic is my ideal.Edison, a British scientist, will not be surprised. He is a world-famous invention King. He invented more than one thousand kinds of life. My ideal is to become a great inventor like Edison.Remember in the third grade textbook, we see Edison to invent almost blind eyes, his train was deaf in one ear, also burned a dress by sulfuric acid. However, his determination to pursue science has not wavered. It is this stubborn spirit, persistent efforts and attitude towards learning that made Edison a great inventor.I think, if I really want to be an inventor like Edison, I want to carry forward his spirit of not afraid of difficulties and perseverance. For this reason, I want to do four words: diligence, perseverance, courage and thinking. "Diligence" is diligence. All the people who have a good job are the result of hard work. "Constant" is perseverance, there is perseverance can be expected to achieve. "Bravery" is the determination to overcome difficulties when learning difficulties. "Thinking" is equally important. Learning is always combined with thinking. Todays "thinking" is also dared to fantasize. Only by opening the wings of fantasy can invention become reality.A plow, a harvest, in order to achieve the ideal, I will pay hard! 经典英语演讲稿4So whats my Chinese dream ? Finally I will announce. We had learned a lot of knowledge and understood a lot of truth in the book. We had a basic concept to our country at that time. We know that our country is full of sunshine , and we are the future of our country, and our dreams are to be the hope of our motherland. However,We dont know what time to start,We are growup,Life became not the same, though we dont want to admit, its the truth that our mind and attitude to our country is changing. Our society became full of deception, indifference, intrigue, pressure, corruption, sinister, and we became irritable and not calm, detest the world and its ways. Our country seems to have become in a disastrous state too. A lot of young students who were nurtured by our motherland became impatient, let alone what are their dreams , what is the china dream ?I was surprised ,when the old man fell down in the street,We are afraid to help him.I was disappointed ,when someone do good things were reported, many people think he was affectation, I was sad, when I saw many of young people become indifferent ,fraud and lack of ideal. Are we sick, or is our dear motherland sick?经典英语演讲稿5Good morning/afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My topic is: faith does make a difference to our life. The recent earthquake in Japan has triggered a series of unexpected crises and even faith crisis among us. Are the increasing natural disasters echoing the 20xx prediction by Maya? Is our future really so vulnerable and tentative? I am trying to probe the answer.Last November, as a volunteer of the Global Sustainable Leaders Forum, I first came across the concept of social entrepreneurship. In the inspiring speeches, I saw the determination and faith of converting ideal into practice. I couldn’t help asking myself: what should I live for?The great thinker Russell once put in his essay: Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, andunbearable pity for the suffering of mankind.By launching donation campaigns and bearing social responsibility, Bill Gates reshaped the stereotyped faith of businessmen. Then, how can I make a difference? A talk with my father gave me some inspiration. My father is a superfan of traditional Chinese calligraphy. When I was a kid, I had the faintest idea why I should practise routinely this form of art. It was terribly boring. But Dad said seriously: As a Chinese, we need to pass down and promote our rich culture. It is our responsibility.Yang Lan, a well-known TV host once said: As a media worker, I want to track down the passage of time and history by conducting interviews. For me, the responsibility outweighs the occupation itself.Far back to Confucius, who was once obscure and humble, undertook the seemingly hopeless task of building a harmonious society. But with his strong faith, hemade a change by spreading the seeds of wisdom. The story about three craftsmen further illustrates the power of faith. When asked about their work, one said: Im piling up the bricks. Another replied: Im building the wall. The third responded: Im designing a home for people. These three replies mirrored distinct insights toward work: Task, job, and undertaking. In my university, students majoring in National Defence choose to devote their golden years to safeguarding our mother land. They have interpreted faith with their own dynamic youth. My friends, musicians can not simply provide us with lyrical notes, but create melody to sooth our soul; Scientists can not merely invent machines, but utilize their wisdom to reshape ourlifestyle; teachers can not just impart knowledge, but usher us to become a worthy person! So, my dear friends, life without faith is just like music without melody, and world without color. We are who we choose to be. It is faith that’ll remove our fear about future and stretch the radius of our life. Let faith light up all our young dreams.Thank you!。

世界名人英语演讲稿篇1Vice President Johnson, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Chief Justice, President Eisenhower, Vice President Nixon, President Truman, reverend clergy, fellow citizens:We observe today not a victory of party, but a celebration of freedom -- symbolizing an end, as well as a beginning -- signifying renewal, as well as change. For I have sworn before you and Almighty God the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three-quarters ago.The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe -- the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans -- born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage, and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home andaround the world.Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty. This much we pledge -- and more.To those old allies whose cultural and spiritual origins we share, we pledge the loyalty of faithful friends. United there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures. Divided there is little we can do -- for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder. To those new states whom we welcome to the ranks of the free, we pledge our word that one form of colonial control shall not have passed away merely to be replaced by a far more iron tyranny. We shall not always expect to find them supporting our view. But we shall always hope to find them strongly supporting their own freedom -- and to remember that, in the past, those who foolishly sought power by riding the back of the tiger ended up inside.世界名人英语演讲稿篇2As Americans gather to celebrate this week, we show our gratitude for the many blessings in our lives. We are grateful for our friends and families who fill our lives with purpose and love. Were grateful for our beautiful country, and for the prosperity we enjoy. Were grateful for the chance to live, work and worship in freedom. Many young people give part of their holiday to volunteer at homelessshelters or food pantries. On Thanksgiving, and on every day of the year, America is a more hopeful nation because of the volunteers who serve the weak and the vulnerable. The Thanksgiving tradition of compassion and humility dates back to the earliest days of our society. And through the years, our deepest gratitude has often been inspired by the most difficult times. Almost four centuries ago, the pilgrims set aside time to thank God after suffering through a bitter winter. And when the children of Beslan, Russia suffered a brutal terrorist attack, the world saw Americas generous heart in an outpouring of compassion and relief. The greatest challenges of our time have come to the men and women who protect our nation. Were fortunate to have dedicated firefighters and police officers to keep our streets safe. Were grateful for the homeland security and intelligence personnel who spend long hours on faithful watch. And we give thanks to the men and women of our military who are serving with courage and skill, and making our entire nation proud.世界名人英语演讲稿篇3I stand here today humbled by the task before us, grateful for the trust you have bestowed, mindful of the sacrifices borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to ournation, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition.Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms. At these moments, America has carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because we the people have remained faithful to the ideals of our forebears, and true to our founding documents. So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans. That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood. Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred. Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some, but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age. Homes have been lost; s shed; businesses shuttered. Our health care is too costly; our schools fail too many; and each day brings further evidence that the ways we use energy strengthen our adversaries and threaten our planet. These are the indicators of crisis, subject to data and statistics. Less measurable but no less profound is a sapping of confidence across our land - a nagging fear that Americas decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights.Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met.On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord. On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises, the recriminations and worn out dogmas, that for far too long have strangled our politics. We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness. In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. Our journey has never been one of shortcuts or settling for less. It has not been the path for the faint-hearted - for those who prefer leisure over work, or seek only the pleasures of riches and fame. Rather, it has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things - some celebrated but more often men and women obscure in their labor, who have carried us up the long, rugged path towards prosperity and freedom. For us, they packed up their few worldly possessions and traveled across oceans in search of a new life. For us, they toiled in sweatshops and settled the West; endured the lash of the whip and plowed the hard earth. For us, they fought and died, in places like Concord and Gettysburg; Normandy and Khe Sahn.Time and again these men and women struggled and sacrificed and worked till their hands were raw so that we might live a better life. They saw America as bigger than the sum of our individual ambitions; greater than all the differences of birth or wealth or faction. This is the journey we continue today. We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year. Our capacity remains undiminished. But our time of standing pat, of protecting narrow interests and putting off unpleasant decisions - that time has surely passed. Starting today, we must pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America. For everywhere we look, there is work to be done. The state of the economy calls for action, bold and swift, and we will act - not only to create new s, but to lay a new foundation for growth. We will build the roads and bridges, the electric grids and digital lines that feed our commerce and bind us together. We will restore science to its rightful place, and wield technologys wonders to raise health cares quality and lower its cost. We will harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories. And we will transform our schools and colleges and universities to meet the demands of a new age. All this we can do. All this we will do.Now, there are some who question the scale of our ambitions - who suggest that our system cannot tolerate too many big plans. Their memories are short. For they have forgotten what this country has already done; what free men and women can achieve when imagination is joined to common purpose, and necessity to courage. What the cynics fail to understand is that the ground has shifted beneath them - that the stale political arguments that have consumed us for so long no longer apply. The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works - whether it helps families find s at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. Those of us who manage the publics dollars will be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.Nor is the question before us whether the market is a force for good or ill. Its power to generate wealth and expand freedom is unmatched, but this crisis has reminded us that without a watchful eye, the market can spin out of control - and that a nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous. The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on our ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart - not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.As for our common defense, we reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals. Our founding fathers ... our found fathers, faced with perils we can scarcely imagine, drafted a charter to assure the rule of law and the rights of man, a charter expanded by the blood of generations. Those ideals still light the world, and we will not give them up for expediences sake. And so to all the other peoples and governments who are watching today, from the grandest capitals to the small village where my father was born: know that America is a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity, and that we are ready to lead once more.Recall that earlier generations faced down fascism andcommunism not just with missiles and tanks, but with sturdy alliances and enduring convictions. They understood that our power alone cannot protect us, nor does it entitle us to do as we please. Instead, they knew that our power grows through its prudent use; our security emanates from the justness of our cause, the force of our example, the tempering qualities of humility and restraint.世界名人英语演讲稿篇4Harry S. Truman: "The Truman Doctrine"Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, Members of the Congress of the United States:The gravity of the situation which confronts the world today necessitates my appearance before a joint session of the Congress. The foreign policy and the national security of this country are involved. One aspect of the present situation, which I present to you at this time for your consideration and decision, concerns Greece and Turkey. The United States has received from the Greek Government an urgent appeal for financial and economic assistance. Preliminary reports from the American Economic Mission now in Greece and reports from the American Ambassador in Greece corroborate the statement of the Greek Government that assistance is imperative if Greece is to survive as a free nation.I do not believe that the American people and the Congress wish to turn a deaf ear to the appeal of the Greek Government. Greece is not a rich country. Lack of sufficient natural resources has always forced the Greek people to work hard to make both ends meet. Since 1940, this industrious, peace loving country has suffered invasion, four years of cruel enemy occupation, and bitter internal strife. When forces of liberation entered Greece they found that the retreating Germans had destroyed virtually all the railways, roads, port facilities, communications, and merchant marine. More than a thousand villages had been burned. Eighty-five per cent of the children were tubercular. Livestock, poultry, and draft animals had almost disappeared. Inflation had wiped out practically all savings. As a result of these tragic conditions, a militant minority, exploiting human want and misery, was able to create political chaos which, until now, has made economic recovery impossible.Greece is today without funds to finance the importation of those goods which are essential to bare subsistence. Under these circumstances, the people of Greece cannot make progress in solving their problems of reconstruction. Greece is in desperate need of financial and economic assistance to enable it to resume purchases of food, clothing, fuel, and seeds. These are indispensable for the subsistence of its people and are obtainable only from abroad. Greece must have help to import the goods necessary to restore internal order and security, so essential for economic and political recovery. The Greek Government has also asked for the assistance of experienced American administrators, economists, and technicians to insure that the financial and other aid given to Greece shall be used effectively in creating a stable and self-sustaining economy and in improving its public administration. The very existence of the Greek state is today threatened by the terrorist activities of several thousand armed men, led by Communists, who defy the government's authority at a number of points, particularly along the northern boundaries. A Commission appointed by the United Nations security Council is at present investigating disturbed conditions in northern Greeceand alleged border violations along the frontiers between Greece on the one hand and Albania, Bulgaria, and Yugoslavia on the other.Meanwhile, the Greek Government is unable to cope with the situation. The Greek army is small and poorly equipped. It needs supplies and equipment if it is to restore authority of the government throughout Greek territory. Greece must have assistance if it is to become a self-supporting and self-respecting democracy. The United States must supply this assistance. We have already extended to Greece certain types of relief and economic aid. But these are inadequate. There is no other country to which democratic Greece can turn. No other nation is willing and able to provide the necessary support for a democratic Greek government. The British Government, which has been helping Greece, can give no further financial or economic aid after March 31st. Great Britain finds itself under the necessity of reducing or liquidating its commitments in several parts of the world, including Greece. We have considered how the United Nations might assist in this crisis. But the situation is an urgent one, requiring immediate action, and the United Nations and its related organizations are not in a position to extend help of the kind that is required. It is important to note that the Greek Government has asked for our aid in utilizing effectively the financial and other assistance we may give to Greece, and in improving its public administration. It is of the utmost importance that we supervise the use of any funds made available to Greece in such a manner that each dollar spent will count toward making Greece self-supporting, and will help to build an economy in which a healthy democracy can flourish. No government is perfect. One of the chief virtues of a democracy, however, is that its defects are always visible and under democratic processes can be pointed out and corrected. The Government of Greece is not perfect. Nevertheless it represents eighty-five per cent of the members of the Greek Parliament who were chosen in an election last year. Foreign observers, including 692 Americans, considered this election to be a fair expression of the views of the Greek people. The Greek Government has been operating in an atmosphere of chaos and extremism. It has made mistakes. The extension of aid by this country does not mean that the United States condones everything that the Greek Government has done or will do. We have condemned in the past, and we condemn now, extremist measures of the right or the left. We have in the past advised tolerance, and we advise tolerance now.Greek's neighbor, Turkey, also deserves our attention. The future of Turkey, as an independent and economically sound state, is clearly no less important to the freedom-loving peoples of the world than the future of Greece. The circumstances in which Turkey finds itself today are considerably different from those of Greece. Turkey has been spared the disasters that have beset Greece. And during the war, the United States and Great Britain furnished Turkey with material aid.Nevertheless, Turkey now needs our support. Since the war, Turkey has sought financial assistance from Great Britain and the United States for the purpose of effecting that modernization necessary for the maintenance of its national integrity. That integrity is essential to the preservation of order in the Middle East. The British government has informed us that, owing to its own difficulties, it can no longer extend financial or economic aidto Turkey. As in the case of Greece, if Turkey is to have the assistance it needs, the United States must supply it. We are the only country able to provide that help.I am fully aware of the broad implications involved if the United States extends assistance to Greece and Turkey, and I shall discuss these implications with you at this time. One of the primary objectives of the foreign policy of the United States is the creation of conditions in which we and other nations will be able to work out a way of life free from coercion. This was a fundamental issue in the war with Germany and Japan. Our victory was won over countries which sought to impose their will, and their way of life, upon other nations. To ensure the peaceful development of nations, free from coercion, the United States has taken a leading part in establishing the United Nations. The United Nations is designed to make possible lasting freedom and independence for all its members. We shall not realize our objectives, however, unless we are willing to help free peoples to maintain their free institutions and their national integrity against aggressive movements that seek to impose upon them totalitarian regimes. This is no more than a frank recognition that totalitarian regimes imposed upon free peoples, by direct or indirect aggression, undermine the foundations of international peace, and hence the security of the United States. The peoples of a number of countries of the world have recently had totalitarian regimes forced upon them against their will. The Government of the United States has made frequent protests against coercion and intimidation in violation of the Yalta agreement in Poland, Rumania, and Bulgaria. I must also state that in a number of other countries there have been similardevelopments. At the present moment in world history nearly every nation must choose between alternative ways of life. The choice is too often not a free one. One way of life is based upon the will of the majority, and is distinguished by free institutions, representative government, free elections, guarantees of individual liberty, freedom of speech and religion, and freedom from political oppression. The second way of life is based upon the will of a minority forcibly imposed upon the majority. It relies upon terror and oppression, a controlled press and radio, fixed elections, and the suppression of personal freedoms.I believe that it must be the policy of the United States to support free peoples who are resisting attempted subjugation by armed minorities or by outside pressures.I believe that we must assist free peoples to work out their own destinies in their own way.I believe that our help should be primarily through economic and financial aid which is essential to economic stability and orderly political processes. The world is not static, and the status quo is not sacred. But we cannot allow changes in the status quo in violation of the Charter of the United Nations by such methods as coercion, or by such subterfuges as political infiltration. In helping free and independent nations to maintain their freedom, the United States will be giving effect to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations. It is necessary only to glance at a map to realize that the survival and integrity of the Greek nation are of grave importance in a much wider situation. If Greece should fall under the control of an armed minority, the effect upon its neighbor, Turkey, wouldbe immediate and serious. Confusion and disorder might well spread throughout the entire Middle East. Moreover, the disappearance of Greece as an independent state would have a profound effect upon those countries in Europe whose peoples are struggling against great difficulties to maintain their freedoms and their independence while they repair the damages of war.It would be an unspeakable tragedy if these countries, which have struggled so long against overwhelming odds, should lose that victory for which they sacrificed so much. Collapse of free institutions and loss of independence would be disastrous not only for them but for the world. Discouragement and possibly failure would quickly be the lot of neighboring peoples striving to maintain their freedom and independence.Should we fail to aid Greece and Turkey in this fateful hour, the effect will be far reaching to the West as well as to the East.We must take immediate and resolute action. I therefore ask the Congress to provide authority for assistance to Greece and Turkey in the amount of $400,000,000 for the period ending June 30, 1948. In requesting these funds, I have taken into consideration the maximum amount of relief assistance which would be furnished to Greece out of the $350,000,000 which I recently requested that the Congress authorize for the prevention of starvation and suffering in countries devastated by the war.In addition to funds, I ask the Congress to authorize the detail of American civilian and military personnel to Greece and Turkey, at the request of those countries, to assist in the tasks of reconstruction, and for the purpose of supervising the use of such financial and material assistance as may be furnished. Irecommend that authority also be provided for the instruction and training of selected Greek and Turkish personnel. Finally, I ask that the Congress provide authority which will permit the speediest and most effective use, in terms of needed commodities, supplies, and equipment, of such funds as may be authorized. If further funds, or further authority, should be needed for purposes indicated in this message, I shall not hesitate to bring the situation before the Congress. On this subject the Executive and Legislative branches of the Government must work together. This is a serious course upon which we embark. I would not recommend it except that the alternative is much more serious. The United States contributed $341,000,000,000 toward winning World War II. This is an investment in world freedom and world peace. The assistance that I am recommending for Greece and Turkey amounts to little more than 1 tenth of 1 per cent of this investment. It is only common sense that we should safeguard this investment and make sure that it was not in vain. The seeds of totalitarian regimes are nurtured by misery and want. They spread and grow in the evil soil of poverty and strife. They reach their full growth when the hope of a people for a better life has died.We must keep that hope alive. The free peoples of the world look to us for support in maintaining their freedoms. If we falter in our leadership, we may endanger the peace of the world. And we shall surely endanger the welfare of this nation.Great responsibilities have been placed upon us by the swift movement of events.I am confident that the Congress will face theseresponsibilities squarely.世界名人英语演讲稿篇5Integrating and empowering women is not just good corporate policy, it’s good business.Second, in addition to changing the corporate culture, we must advance public policies that address the composition of our modern workforce. In the United States, while single women without children make 95 cents for each dollar earned by a man, married mothers earn only 81 cents. Too many women in the United States are forced to leave the workforce following the birth of a child. We must ensure that federal policies support working mothers and enable them to reach their full potential. This is how we will create an environment where closely bonded families can flourish and our economy can grow at unprecedented levels. That is why in the United States, we are working to pass sweeping and long over-due tax reform that will afford families much needed relief. We are seeking to simplify the tax code, lower rates, expand the child tax credit, eliminate the marriage penalty, and put more money back in the pockets of hard-working Americans. Our administration is working to address the high cost of childcare in the United States which currently outstrips housing expenses and state college tuition in much of the Country. It cannot be too expensive for the modern working family to have children.世界名人英语演讲稿篇6After school, the students say goodbye to each other happily, ready to go home, I went into the village, just to oneself the home of the gate, was attracted by the door of a scene - a 60 uncle, isnot tall, wearing a white coat, limped walking, the other people the way of a few seconds, will allow him to go for a few minutes, or more.Silently I looked at him, and he walked in the park the cobbles, there are many children use the malicious look to him, he just laugh it off, "a group of lovely child!"The next day, I still saw him walking on the stone egg road, the wind gently blowing, seemed unusually quiet. He walk, accidentally fell down. I have a look, panic nasty in the heart, calm to lifted him up quickly. He looked at me, thanks, then limped away, seems to don't want me to see his deputy. That night, the figure appeared again: he walked old crutches, is to open the two meters high 'mailboxes. For a disabled people, turn a two meters high 'mailboxes on is not an easy thing. I took the keys in his hand, feet stand, took out a pile of paper and gave it to him.He don't talk, his eyes filled with gratitude. He tried to put the tears back, clip the newspaper, and left. Presumably he would be in a corner crying, did not reveal any feelings in life, it is brave to face life.In life, you to pay a small step for the disabled, in his heart is established is a kind of belief. Take care of the disabled, they need us every moment of the day.世界名人英语演讲稿篇7Life is not about just getting by. Life is about reaching ever higher, building one achievement on top of another, and creating real, meaningful value in each moment.生活并不是过得去就行,而是需要我们每时每刻都有所超越,不断取得成就,并且创造真正的、有意义的价值。

-- to talk ith the parativel fe ho understand the mehanis of banking, but more partiularl ith the overhelming majorit of ou ho use banks for the making of deposits and the draing of heks.i ant to tell ou hat has been done in the last fe das, and h it as done, and hat the next steps are going to be. i reognize that the man prolamations from state apitols and from ashington, the legislation, the treasur regulations, and so forth, ouhed for the most part in banking and legal terms, out to be explained for the benefit of the average itizen. i oe this, in partiular, beause of the fortitude and the good temper ith hih everbod has aepted the inonveniene and hardships of the banking holida. and i kno that hen ou understand hat e in ashington have been about, i shall ontinue to have our ooperation as full as i have had our smpath and our help during the past eek.first of all, let me state the simple fat that hen ou deposit mone in a bank, the bank does not put the mone into a safe deposit vault. it invests our mone in man different forms of redit -- in bonds, in merial paper, in mortgages and in man other kinds of loans. in other ords, the bank puts our mone to ork to keep the heels of industr and of agriulture turning around. a parativel small part of the mone that ouput into the bank is kept in urren -- an amount hih in normal times is holl suffiient to over the ash needs of the average itizen. in other ords, the total amount of all the urren inthe ountr is onl a parativel small proportion of the total deposits in all the banks of the ountr.hat, then, happened during the last fe das of februar and the first fe das of marh? beause of undermined onfidene onthe part of the publi, there as a general rush b a large portion of our population to turn bank deposits into urren or gold -- a rush so great that the soundest banks ouldn t get enough urren to meet the demand. the reason for this as thaton the spur of the moment it as, of ourse, impossible to sell perfetl sound assets of a bank and onvert them into ash, exept at pani pries far belo their real value. b theafternoon of marh third, a eek ago last frida, sarel a bankin the ountr as open to do business. prolamations losing them, in hole or in part, had been issued b the governors in almost all the states. it as then that i issued the prolamation providing for the national bank holida, and this as the first step in the government s reonstrution of our finanial and eonomi fabri.the seond step, last thursda, as the legislation promptl and patriotiall passed b the ongress onfirming m prolamation and broadening m poers so that it beame possible in vie ofthe requirement of time to extend the holida and lift the ban of that holida graduall in the das to e. this la also gave authorit to develop a program of rehabilitation of our banking failities. and i ant to tell our itizens in ever part of the nation that the national ongress -- republians and demorats alike -- shoed b this ation a devotion to publi elfare and a realization of the emergen and the neessit for speed that it is diffiult to math in all our histor.the third stage has been the series of regulations permitting the banks to ontinue their funtions to take are of the distribution of food and household neessities and the pament of parolls.this bank holida, hile resulting in man ases in great inonveniene, is affording us the opportunit to suppl the urren neessar to meet the situation. remember that no sound bank is a dollar orse off than it as hen it losed its doors last eek. neither is an bank hih ma turn out not to be in a position for immediate opening. the ne la allos the telve federal reserve banks to issue additional urren on good assets and thus the banks that reopen ill be able to meet ever legitimate all. the ne urren is being sent out b the bureau of engraving and printing in large volume to ever part of the ountr. it is sound urren beause it is baked b atual, good assets.another question ou ill ask is this: h are all the banks not to be reopened at the same time? the anser is simple and i kno ou ill understand it: our government does not intend that the histor of the past fe ears shall be repeated. e do not ant and ill not have another epidemi of bank failures.as a result, e start tomorro, monda, ith the opening of banks in the telve federal reserve bank ities -- those banks, hih on first examination b the treasur, have alread been found to be all right. that ill be folloed on tuesda b the resumption of all other funtions b banks alread found to be sound in ities here there are reognized learing houses. that means about to hundred and fift ities of the united states.in other ords, e are moving as fast as the mehanis of the situation ill allo us.on ednesda and sueeding das, banks in smaller plaes all through the ountr ill resume business, subjet, of ourse, to the government s phsial abilit to plete its surve it is neessar that the reopening of banks be extended over a period in order to permit the banks to make appliations for the neessar loans, to obtain urren needed to meet their requirements, and to enable the government to make mon sense hekups.please let me make it lear to ou that if our bank does not open the first da ou are b no means justified inbelieving that it ill not open. a bank that opens on one ofthe subsequent das is in exatl the same status as the bankthat opens tomorro.i kno that man people are orring about state banks that are not members of the federal reserve sstem. there is no oasion for that orr. these banks an and ill reeive assistane from member banks and from the reonstrution finane orporation. and, of ourse, the are under the immediate ontrol of thestate banking authorities. these state banks are folloing the same ourse as the national banks exept that the get their lienses to resume business from the state authorities, and these authorities have been asked b the seretar of thetreasur to permit their good banks to open up on the same shedule as the national banks. and so i am onfident that the state banking departments ill be as areful as the national government in the poli relating to the opening of banks andill follo the same broad theor.it is possible that hen the banks resume a ver fe people ho have not reovered from their fear ma again begin ithdrXXls. let me make it lear to ou that the banks ill take are of all needs, exept, of ourse, the hsterial demands of hoarders, and it is m belief that hoarding during the past eek has bee an exeedingl unfashionable pastime in ever part of our nation.it needs no prophet to tell ou that hen the people find thatthe an get their mone -- that the an get it hen the ant itfor all legitimate purposes -- the phantom of fear ill soonbe laid. people ill again be glad to have their mone here itill be safel taken are of and here the an use it onvenientlat an time. i an assure ou, m friends, that it is safer to keep our mone in a reopened bank than it is to keep it under the mattress.the suess of our hole national program depends, of ourse, on the ooperation of the publi -- on its intelligent support and its use of a reliable sstem.remember that the essential aplishment of the nelegislation is that it makes it possible for banks morereadil to onvert their assets into ash than as the ase before. more liberal provision has been made for banks to borro on these assets at the reserve banks and more liberal provision has also been made for issuing urren on the seurit of these good assets. this urren is not fiat urren. it is issued onlon adequate seurit, and ever good bank has an abundane of suh seurit.one more point before i lose. there ill be, of ourse, some banks unable to reopen ithout being reorganized. the nela allos the government to assist in making these reorganizations quikl and effetivel and even allos thegovernment to subsribe to at least a part of an ne apitalthat ma be required.i hope ou an see, m friends, from this essential reital of hat our government is doing that there is nothing plex, nothing radial in the proess.e have had a bad banking situation. some of our bankers had shon themselves either inpetent or dishonest in their handling of the people s funds. the had used the mone entrusted to them in speulations and unise loans. this as, of ourse, not true in the vast majorit of our banks, but it as true in enough of them to shok the people of the united states, for a time, into a sense of inseurit and to put them into a frame of mind here the did not differentiate, but seemed to assume that the ats of a parative fe had tainted them all. and so it beame the government s job to straighten out this situation and do it as quikl as possible. and that job is being performed.i do not promise ou that ever bank ill be reopened or that individual losses ill not be suffered, but there ill be no losses that possibl ould be avoided; and there ould have been more and greater losses had e ontinued to drift. i an even promise ou salvation for some, at least, of the sorel presses banks. e shall be engaged not merel in reopeningsound banks but in the reation of more sound banks through reorganization.it has been onderful to me to ath the note of onfidene from all over the ountr. i an never be suffiientl grateful to the people for the loal support that the have given me in their aeptane of the judgment that has ditated our ourse, even though all our proesses ma not have seemed lear to them.after all, there is an element in the readjustment of our finanial sstem more important than urren, more important than gold, and that is the onfidene of the people themselves. onfidene and ourage are the essentials of suess in arring out our plan. ou people must have faith; ou must not be stampeded b rumors or guesses. let us unite in banishing fear. e have provided the mahiner to restore our finanial sstem, and it is up to ou to support and make it ork.it is our problem, m friends, our problem no less than it is mine.together e annot fail.第三篇:名人名校励志英语演讲稿dare to pete, dare to are 敢于竞争,勇于关爱---美国国务卿希拉里·克林顿耶鲁大学演讲dare to pete. dare to are. dare to dream. dare to love. pratie the art 英语演讲比赛演讲稿(8篇)this is no surprise though if you look at the insights of contemporary psychology. it turns out that we cant even be in a group of people without instinctively mirroring, mimicking their opinions. even about seemingly personal and visceral things like who youre attracted to, you will start aping the beliefs of the people around you without even realizing that thats what youre doing. and groups famously follow the opinions of the most dominant or charismatic person in the room, even though theres zero correlation between being the best talker and having the best ideas -- i mean zero. so ... (laughter) you might be following the person with the best ideas, but you might not. and do you really want to leave it up to chance? much better for everybody to go off by themselves, generate their own ideas freed from the distortions of group dynamics, and then come together as a team to talk them throughin a well-managed environment and take it from there.now if all this is true, then why are we getting it so wrong? why are we setting up our schools this way and our workplaces? and why are we making these introverts feel so guilty about wanting tojust go off by themselves some of the time? one answer lies deep in our cultural history. western societies, and in particular the u.s., have always favored the man of action over the man of contemplation and “man“ of contemplation. but in americas early days, we lived in what historians call a culture of character, where we still, at that point, valued people for their inner selves and their moral rectitude. and if you look at the self-help books from this era, they all had titles with things like “character, the grandest thing in the world.“ and they featured role models like abraham lincoln who was praised for being modest and unassuming. ralph waldo emerson called him “a man who does not offend by superiority.“but then we hit the 20th century and we entered a new culture that historians call the culture of personality. what happened is we had evolved an agricultural economy to a world of big business. and so suddenly people are moving from small towns to the cities. and instead of working alongside people theyve known all their lives, now they are having to prove themselves in a crowd of strangers. so, quite understandably, qualities like magnetism and charisma suddenly come to seem really important. and sure enough, theself-help books change to meet these new needs and they start to have names like “how to win friends and influence people.“ and they feature as their role models really great salesmen. so thats the world were living in today. thats our cultural inheritance. 英语演讲竞赛经典优秀演讲稿篇五英语演讲竞赛即兴演讲篇六英语演讲大赛英文篇七good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! The poet said: spring flowers to the door pushed open.I said:Thanksgiving to the door pushed open the living. If you carefully listen to the voices of flowers, are everywhere harmonious life movement. Then, as a middle school student, how Thanksgiving?First Thanksgiving their parents, because everyone%26#39;s life is a continuation of the parents of one blood, all of the parents gave us love, let us enjoy the human world of affection and happiness, therefore, we would like to thank the parents. Teachers are our growth, are our friends, teachers care for us , their words and deeds, let us benefit for life, we pay for teachers efforts and sweat, we should Thanksgiving teachers. Thanksgiving-Fighting, Thanksgiving unlimited! Students, and Society Thanksgiving! Let us always to the life caring and full of love and love!英语演讲大赛英文篇八hello everyone!I have a dream that one day every vally shall be ealted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. Wow, what a dream it has been for Martin Luther King. But the changing world seems telling me that people gradually get their dreams lost somehow in the process of growing up, and sometimes I personally find myself saying goodbye unconsciously to those distant childhood dreams. However,we meed dreams. They nourish our spirit; they represent possibility even when we are dragged down by reality. They keep us going. Most successful people are dreamers as well asordinary people who are not afraid to think big and dare to be great. When we were little kids, we all dreamed of doing something big and splashy, something significant. Now what we need to do is to maintain them, refresh them and turn them into reality. However, the toughest part is that we often have no ideas how to translate these dreams into actions. Well, just start with concrete objectives and stick to it. Don’t let the nameless fear confuse the eye and confound our strong belief of f→.←uture. Through our talents, through our wits, through our endurance and through our creativity, we will make it.Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a broken-winged bird that cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams, for when dreams go,life is a barren field frozen with snow. So my dear friends, think of your old and maybe dead dreams. Whatever it is, pick it up and make it alive from today.Thank you!。

世界著名英语演讲篇一Words of Wisdom:"Take action. Every story you've ever connected with, every leader you've ever admired, every puny little thing that you've ever accomplished is the result of taking action. You have a choice. You can either be a passive victim of circumstance or you can be the active hero of your own life. Action is the antidote to apathy and cynicism and despair. You will inevitably make mistakes. Learn what you can and move on. At the end of your days, you will be judged by your gallop, not by your stumble."As an actor, Whitford's most famous character was The West Wing's Josh Lyman, a pragmatic political wonk with a drive to win and no compunction about kneecapping his foes. So it's a little strange to read Whitford's earnest advice for overcoming adversity. But there's no denying that his addremakes a heartfelt, inspiring read.Words of Wisdom:"Let us examine our attitude toward peace itself. Too many of us think it is impossible. Too many think it unreal. But that is a dangerous, defeatist belief. It leads to the conclusion that war is inevitable, that mankind is doomed, that we are gripped by forces we cannot control."We need not accept that view. Our problems are man-made — therefore, they can be solved by man. And man can be as big as he wants. No problem of human destiny is beyond humanbeings. Man's reason and spirit have often solved the seemingly unsolvable — and we believe they can do it again."Consider the last time you witnessed an exchange about the thorny issues on today's agenda — pork-barrel spending, say, or instituting universal health care. Chances are the discussion was conducted in weary, whispered tones. Pragmatism is in, and talk of grand solutions is the kiof death for many a politician. Reading J.F.K.'s 1963 addreto American University graduates on the need for world peace is a reminder of how much our political discourse has changed — and, in many ways, diminished. Say this for the President: he made no small plans.世界著名英语演讲篇二Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical therapist(临床医学家) who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a census(调查) about mountain gorillas(大猩猩). These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching(偷猎) and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled(拥抱) their babies.Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Dian Fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the eco-environment there until the very end of her life.To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless(永恒的) reminder that we should notdevelop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks. All these appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding(侵蚀) our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our eco-environment.Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids(残疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care, because they still want their Mother Natureback. Because they know it still belongs to them.世界著名英语演讲篇三Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. In today’s technologically advanced world, the role of humanism has been more visible and touchable than ever. It’s not only about compassion, sacrifice and kindness in the old time, but more like a magnifying glass to make the good part of human nature much better and the bad part much clearer for us to see.Without doubt that humanism could magnify the best part of human nature and bring hope, belief and love to everyone in despair with the help of today’s highly developed technology. Think about the moment that how happy you can be when you help a devastated person just by clicking your mouse online. And will you be overwhelmed with happiness when you could make this seemingly impossible task possible?Micro blog right now enjoys a huge popularity in China. Last year, a young couple updated a single status on micro blog begging that they need people’s help to find their 5 year-old missing son. Within a second, this message was forwarded more than thousands of times. At first, I forwarded this message without any strong feeling or hope attached. I was wondering what can it do except from comforting those devastated parents. However, with the messages forwarded by more and more people, some surprising news popping on my page that one stranger spotted the missing child and updated the photo online. Only one day later, the missing boy was home safe and sound with the help of more than 10 thousand people within 48 hours. Being part of this amazing and exciting 48 hours is so meaningful and inspiring, for I see the most beautiful and moving part of human nature. On the other side of the picture, technology can also help humanism magnify the most evil part of human nature for us to see. Online forum made it possible for us to have access to any information we want, while it also made it easier to spread unhealthy values that more and more people are becoming more greedy, indifferent and selfish than ever. When an old woman fell over in the street, more than 80% of people refused to offer help, for people hea rd so much about how an old lady’s family treated the person who helped as some bad guy who made the lady fall. And most of us even feel it OK not to help, unfortunately we make those exceptions into a golden rule. Last year, when a case like this happened and the old lady struggled for help, we finally think it as a right time to break the worst stereotype. Experts, students, reporters and all kinds of people start to save the moral decline. Professors from Peking University even said to their students that you should offer help whenever you see an old man fall over, for the school of law will help you win the lawsuit and the school of journalism and communication will help you win the media. In this technologically advanced world, we can easily see the dark side of human nature. However, no matter how bad we turn into, humanity never fails to be the best cure and teach us to cherish the best part of human nature.Humanism is indeed a magnifying glass in this technologically advanced world, no matter which side of human nature we are in. Humanism can always light up the world and make it as beautiful as we first saw it. And that can create the most inspiring moments in our lives.世界著名英语演讲篇四When I was in primary school, once our math teacher told us: Mathematics is the most important subject since it is thefoundation of all science and technology. Without math, there would be no skyscrapers, no cars or planes and no human’s today. You must learn math well because it promotes technology and technology is of top priority. The interesting thing is, in the next class, our Chinese teacher also said: Chinese is the most important subject, poems and essays depict people’s everlasting emotion. Love, friendship, hatred can all be conveyed by words and language. You must learn Chinese well because literature unfolds human nature and humanism is of top priority. After the class, my classmates and I were all confused. What is exactly the most important subject? Mathematics or Chinese? Science or humanism? The confusion has been in my mind for many years. No matter what kind of exam it is, they share the same credit. No matter whether it is science or humanism, each of them plays an essential role. By and by, it seems to me that: They are of the same importance. My perception, however, changed after a military course in my university. During the class, our teacher said: If one day, 5 billion TNT nuclear warheads exploded, what would be the result?2 billion people would die. And for the temperature, 10 centigrade would drop. All of us would vanish. This is called “Nuclear Winter”.We were shocked! And suddenly my math teacher’s voice echoed in my mind: Without technology, there would be no human’s today. But where is our tomorrow? Will it be fantastic?I don’t think so.Ladies and gentleman, we must be clearly aware that: Compared with high-tech, our humanism becomes more trivial.Warfare destroyed our rosy homeland. Disasters left millions of people homeless. Our Earth is scarred and battered. Without morality, technology is dragging us into darkness. There is only one thing that can save us: humanism. In 1994, Nash, the Nobel Prize winner, said in the awarding ceremony: I've always believed in numbers and the equations and logics that lead to reason. But after a lifetime of such pursuits, I ask, "What truly is logic?" "Who decides reason? And I have made the most important discovery of my career, the most important discovery of my life: It is only in the mysterious equations of love that any logic or reasons can be found.Nash’s words struck me. What is the most precious? It must be love, love for ourselves, love for people and love for our mother Earth. And it is the technology guided by our beautiful mind that brings us a bright future. Finally I’d like to say: It’s great to be great, but it’s greater to be human.【世界著名英语演讲稿经典范文】。

著名英语演讲稿(优秀8篇)经典英语演讲稿篇一Ladies and gentlemen,I am honored to stand here to share with you on such a important subject as climate change.Yes ,it is global warming .Let me give you two phenomenons. Here is the first and more people used to be using air condition, but how many people ever thought whether this new ?hobby? will bring side-effects or not? Maybe just few people. In fact, the side-effect is apparent. The emissions of gases exhausted from air conditioning contain a lot of methane which could cause global warming.By the way,air conditioning will waste a lot of electricity .The second one is about the increasing amount of cars.According to the statistics,in 21st century, there are 7 millions cars in the world,a large amount of exhaust gases has seriously influenced us,such as: cough, throat inflammation. This two phenomenons are just few part of reason which change our environment badly. There are many other reasons. In nearly 100 years, the average global temperature experienced twice fluctuations which is “cold-warm-cold-warm”。

大学生英文演讲稿:从跌倒的地方站起来let’s stand up from where we fall down all the celebrations welcoming the new century were hold in the year 2014, because life without a greeting is like the sky without the sun.greetings are very important for the whole world,in my opinion. but i dont know whether greetings are enough for us.especially when we meet with failures .i remember quite clearly that when i was a child,if i fall down and was on the brink of crying,my father always told me”please stand up from where you fall down!” yes,we must stand up from
where we fall down. that was a special mid night in 1993.expectations filled our hearts. we stared at the tv,hoping excitedly as the voice would fly to our ears. but at last, each chinese who loves our motherland was distressed to know the result:beijing ,lost to sydeny by a margin of two votes in the olympic hosting competition. eight years have past, but the frustration has not healed with time at all. now,at the begining of the new millennium, all of the pride and disappointment of the 20th century had gone with the wind. the 21st century, which is full of hope, longing znd thought has come. someone said,we would start from zero on. should i really start from zero on? no!i hold that we should go on with our efferts and ambitions stayed by last century, and make our life better. “new beijing, great olympics!” the voice cries this out around chinas captital,a 3,000 -year-old city these days. beijing, along
with paris, istanbul, osake and toronto, has been shortlisted by the international olympic committee as an official candidate city for the 2014 olympic games. this is beijings second attempt to host the games. everyone fully supports beijings bid for it. maybe,we can paint fences along the main roads of beijing. maybe,we can make much of yhe city cleaned up. maybe,we can learn and speak basic english idioms and expressions for daily communication. but,but are they just enough? facing the new century, mankind is driven by the revolution of science and technoiogy, world economy is undergoing broud and profound changes. but nobody can deny the fact that compared with developed nations, developing countries are confronted with more pressure and challenges.in order to become famous in the world,we must speed up our international economic restructuring to
catch up with industrialized nations. supporting beijings bid is a systematic project that can support chinasdevelopment efforts. i believe recycled pa-pe-r,clean fuel, sorted rubbish,water-saving and enery-efficient facilities will become reality in the coming years for china. i believe the new century is an era of learning ans teaching, and lifelong education has become one of the main trends in the future developmet of chinese society. i believe that,on july 13,our dream of beijings olympic bid will become true. because to millions of chinese, for china to have the gloal respect and support that she deserves is not just a dream. it is a part of our very souls.for we are not only equal members of our motherland, china, but we are also equal contributors to the world as a whole. let us stand together, all nations in beijing,in brotherhood, friendship and peace, in 2014
and forever!。
