Thank you for your letter. I can fully put myself into your shoes as my kid used to have the same problem—too concerned about his looks. At first I stepped in by advising him but it was adding fuel to the flames. Later I took him to the public library and encouraged him to read books on teenage health. He learned that it is normal for teenagers’ faces grow oilier and calmed down. I then told him that he still looks great as long as he is independent and confident. And that is what he is today. So why not take a step back and allow him to think for a while? He will be fine with your company and guidance.
