• In the chapter IV, when she found something was suspect, she takes a life risk to eavesdropping(偷听) the conversation between Percival and Fosco under the window with heavy rain and dark, just for her sister, and I was moved by her selfless and love. What’s more, while she and Hartright were fighting with Percival in the fire, she performance great courage and wisdom, until Percival died. And after Laura married with Hartright, she still takes care of them with her whole heart.
The words Describing Person

My Favorite person
• There are three typical women in this story, Laura, Anne and Marianne. Laura is tender, beautiful and kind, and in the eyes of men, she is an ideal wife, However, those words also mean weak, which cause their tragedy for some reason. Anne is a innocent but have mental problem girl, and she want to tell Laura about her fiance’s scheme, that lead to her dead directly. Contrasted with them, Marianne is more attractive for me, though she isn’t so beautiful. She is brave, smart and selfless, and even the Count(伯爵) Fosco admit “she is a amazing woman”.

< The Women in White> and <The Moonstone > both are Willkie Collins （威尔基·斯柯林） most famous detective story, once known as the import Victoria classic. In this story, Hartright, the teacher of drawing, fall in love with his student Laura, and found Laura looked like another Anne, who dressed all in white, but at the same time, he was told Laura has been engaged to Percival. Percival is a selfish and cruel man, and the only aim to marry is to get Laura’s property. Laura’ old sister, Marianne know his personality and hope Laura give up her promise, but Laura thinks she should not be against her father’s decision, though her father has dead.
My Feeling
• <The Women in White> is a detective book, and firstly I was attracted by its name, because it gives me lots of imagination. But after reading it, I think it have more significance, especially about Marianne. She is so selfless and love her sister so mach, that all make me think of my old sister. Before entering university, I always wish I were the old not the little. But now all changed for everything my old sister has done for me, and I begin really understand how precious the love in families is.

• After married, Laura was forced depart with Marianne, and lives a bad life with Percival, no freedom and no smile. Hartright was also forced to leave his motherland, because Percival want to kill him, both for his wife and Anne. When the sisters meet again, Marianne found Percival’s scheme, and try to leave him with Laura, but failure. Later, she get a terrible news, Laura has died. She doesn’t believe, and finally found Laura is in asylums(疯人院), the women in grave was Anne, their another sister. Marianne looks for Hartright, and they rescue Laura from asylums and expose Percival’s crime. At least, they live a happy live.
