.right?Perhaps, but some developmental psychologists(心理学家)have argued that this“play”is m ore like a scientific investigation than one might think。

Take a closer look at the baby playing at the table. Each time the bowl of rice is pushed over the table edge,it falls to the ground-and,in the process,it brings out important evidence about how physical objects interact(相互作用):bowls of rice do not float in mid-air,but require support to remain stable. It is likely that babies are not born knowing the basic fact of the universe;nor are they ever clearly taught it.Instead, babies may form an understanding of object support through repeated experiments and then build on this knowledge to learn even more about how objects interact。

不同的文化对于沉默有着不同的解读。

有的认为沉默意味着深思熟虑或脑海中一片空白;有的认为沉默就是执拗;也有的把沉默当成理解他人的必备谈话技巧而倍加珍视。

1.?A. . B. .C..D..

(2014·浙江,C)Last summer, two nineteenth-century cottages were rescued from remote farm fields in Montana,to be moved to an Art Deco building in San Francisco。

The houses were made of wood. These cottages once housed early settlers as they worked the dry Montana soil;now they hold Twitter engineers. The cottages could be an example of the industry’s odd love affair with “low technology",a concept associated with the natural world, and with old-school craftsmanship (手艺) that exists long before the Internet era.Low technology is not virtual (虚拟的)-so,to take advantage of it,Internet companies have had to get creative. The rescued wood cottages, fitted by hand in the late eighteen-hundreds,are an obvious example, but Twitter’s designs lie on the extreme end。
